Father’s Day By Brenda Drake

Father’s Day

His hand may have a roughness to the touch,
But when gently placed upon his child it means so much.
His word in the home is final – as it should be,
But oh how wonderful when it is the Word of God he speaks.
His footsteps are large and wide it is true,
But they are the example for his children too.
As he travels forward and when he looks back,
And as he observes his children walking in his tracks;
The father wise admits he has made mistakes,
And asks his heavenly Father’s help to the right path take.
Also remember your Heavenly Father above.
As you celebrate the earthly father you love.
You may give cards, gifts and prepare a feast for them,
But like our Heavenly Father above he most desires appreciation.

Deuteronomy 5:16
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
