If Love Was Visible By Brenda Drake

Love is what makes the world go round. Truly this is true, God is love.

If Love Was Visible

If love was visible we would see,
The softest, gentlest, feeling that could ever be.
Love’s colors are so beautiful, full of kindness for others,
It is not forceful in any way you will discover.
Love’s touch is sacrificial… it is willing to serve.
Words full of hope and peace it prefers.
Love touches with as gentle a hand,
To lead and guide to the truth as it can.
As you learn what love does and Who is Love in the Word,
You’ll desire show the world the truth you have heard.
Love is clearly visible….He is Jesus, God’s Son,
And He can be and is seen in His chosen ones.

Ephesians 3:17-19
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Psalms73:28
But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

Seeds of Rebellion Replaced By Brenda Drake

I know the world plants its seeds every day in us unaware.  We choose what we will allow to grow.  I will reject whatever does not agree with the Word of God.  I choose to learn of God’s ways not the ways of a fallen world system! Because of the work of Jesus in our hearts we are able to discern what is right and what is wrong.

Seed of Rebellion Replaced

The seed of rebellion was found inside,
As it grew, no longer could it hide.
It grew into a no-turning-back place,
And its insurrection and intent was fully embraced.
Evil was found in the beautiful one,
No longer could he dwell with Father, Spirit, and Son.
Seeds are planted each and every day,
To from God’s Word turn away.
Seeds of rebellion encouraged to grow,
Deep within the soul.
Jesus came to earth born to save the lost.
He, by His obedience went to the cross.
To pay for every man’s sin so they could be,
A part of God’s plan for eternity.
Those who hear, taste, and see truth displayed,
Are freed from rebellion’s evil ways.
They are drawn into the arms of grace.
Made new and whole, by the Father embraced.
Those who live for God each day dies to self-will.
Heart, mind, and soul with God is filled;
With words, thoughts, and actions to glorify God above.
Seeds of rebellion are replaced by seeds of love.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. 1 Samuel 15:22
If ye love me, keep my commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; John 14:15-16

Mindful of Little Things By Brenda Drake

We desire to know the news and beliefs of the entire world.  We all have our opinions and theories of who is right and what really matters. Truly the life in tune with the wonders of God’s gifts of everyday things, which encourage joy and peace instead of promoting turmoil and strife, is more content and happy.

Mindful of Little Things

Be mindful of the little things in life.
That causes to the heart certain delight.
Then at other times let them pass,
You will be well blessed in the act.
Does this sound a little strange to your ear?
It is pure wisdom if you hear.
There are little signs that are meant to be;
Like small gifts delivered for you to see.
Such as the pretty butterfly or bird or a flower’s bloom,
Or like sunshine that floods the room.
Or perhaps a heart-shaped cloud in the sky;
Be mindful; do not let them pass by.
Perhaps an unexpected loving tap of family or friend,
Or even a smile delivered by one of them.
Then there are little things you need to ignore or toss aside.
That is toxic and cause certain discomfort inside.
Like the sharp word of either stranger and friend,
And the devil’s lies that try to sneak in.
The stolen glances in areas unhealthy for the soul,
Be mindful to repent them; for God already knows.
Be mindful; take care to on the right path stay,
Remember to keep in mind Jesus is the Way.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Colossians 3:15

A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. Proverbs 12:16

When the Master Speaks By Brenda Drake

Lord teach us Your ways! You are the Master of the redeemed soul.

When the Master speaks, the wind changes its way;
The waters recede and all creation obeys;
Flowers bloom and grasses wither or grow;
Terror strikes the heart or joy overflows.
When the Master speaks time stands in awe;
Wise men give homage and all men before Him fall.
At the use of the Master’s name,
The devil trembles with hatred, and shame;
Demons are powerless and must flee at its might;
They are overcome with fear and scatter in fright.
When the Master speaks sickness will loose its grasp.
The word of faith is honored when the trusting one asks.
Who can stand against the One that formed all that you see?
Never fear your God is overcome by any enemy.
Jesus gave His authority to His body…the Church…His bride
Speak the Word and the Master’s voice in you is alive!

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

1 Peter 4:11
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Masterpiece Created By Brenda Drake

Chapter 1

The truth of Salvation is beautiful to comprehend; and it is life-changing when allowed to enter our heart. Love for our Creator and for our fellow man is proof we are indeed a part of His masterpiece the Church.  We know we are not made beautiful in the Father’s eyes by our own works but by Jesus’ work on the cross in our behalf.

Masterpiece Created

A masterpiece was created from a lump of clay;
All of heaven’s treasures within him displayed.
Perfect without flaw, beautiful in the Creators eye,
Lovely, without blemish, eternally with life supplied.
He was marked with Divinity in each and every line.
Forever indelibly with God’s signature signed.
Evil beheld the perfection and hated it so much,
It reached out its claw to such perfection touch.
Sin marred God’s masterpiece with the fatal blow;
To separate with death from the Creator of their soul.
The Master is master in every way.
He always knew His creation would His word disobey.
He provided the way for the damned to see,
Salvation for all who choose to believe.
He calls out for the lost to come,
Into the holy provision of God’s Son.
He paid the price so they could be forever assured,
The sacrifice of Jesus has the connection secured.
He shapes the born again as His masterpiece;
To be His forever from sins hold set free.

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Extravagant Love By Brenda Drake

Page 2 of my book Love Makes a Way. This is a poetic celebration of the love that loved so much He chose to die in our place. This book is available on Amazon in kindle, paperback and hardcover.

Version 1.0.0

Chapter 1

It boggles the mind to think someone loves us enough to die for us.  But greater still is the mind-blowing realization the Creator of the universe loved us enough to not only die for us but also chooses to live in us.  His love is never ending.  It is indeed extravagantly elaborate; He is willing and able to provide for our every need.  He is truly our prince charming! He is Lord of lords and King of kings.

Extravagant Love

Love created – those created rebelled,
Evil entered to lead the way to hell.
Love had a perfect plan,
But it needed to help the blind to see His plan.
Love reveals Himself to those who will obey;
To tell others in need and to lead the way.
It is an extravagant love that never stopped its flow.
Only an extravagant love would choose to die to save every soul.
This love will not force His self upon those He desires to touch.
But He will never stop demonstrating His love.
The free choice to choose or reject Him is His first gift given to all.
But He will never stop wooing the one who will hear His call.
Extravagant love tasted death so death would lose its sting.
Extravagant love makes a pauper a child of the king.
Jesus is the love-word spoken from the cross of shame.
A love-proposal to offer His name;
An over-the-top expression of devotion to call His bride.
When He said it was finished, He for them died.
But this love could not in the tomb stay,
He arose conqueror, alive in every way.

Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

The Day After By Brenda Drake

The Day After

The day after the resurrection I wonder what it was like?
After a once broken heart was visited by God’s healing light?
I wonder did they dance and sing the next day still,
Because of the joy that their heart filled?
Did people prepare feasts and gather to rejoice?
The day after, they again heard their Savior’s voice?
I wonder how it could not be?
Surely, in wonder and awe, the day after was precious indeed.
Now we celebrate the wonderful event of long ago,
When our life was forever freed from death’s hold.
We rejoice our Lord and Savior spoke in our hearts new,
And marvel, He is alive not in the empty tomb!
Has the beautiful message of the resurrection of Christ,
To have only one special day set aside?
What do we do the day after the day,
Of celebration; surly the beautiful truth with us stays?.
He not only is alive He reigns in health above.
He reigns within the hearts of all He is a part of.

John 11:25
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

A Different Story By Brenda Drake

A Different Story

The stone rejoiced as it was rolled aside,
The Creator of the universe was alive!
Glad was the napkin as it was folded and laid aside by the Lord,
His statement to world, He returned from death’s door.
The guards shook in wonder what they knew was true,
Jesus indeed did what He said He would do.
The women who were prepared to see what they already saw,
At the empty tomb stood in awe.
Sad hearts gathered to find strength to carry on in their despair,
Their hearts wept because Jesus, their Lord was not there.
Peter’s tender heart was pierced at the thought of the days before;
How He was saddened at His denial of His Lord.
The devils celebrated along with those who were in control,
Little did they know the great work accomplished by the cross and its cruel hold.
Heaven’ wept at the sight and the Father needed to look away,
But what a different story that is written on Resurrection Day!
Jesus was alive! He did what His birth planned from the start.
He died and rose again so death eternal sting did not need to be of our lives a part.
He is alive and His appearance caused hearts long ago to sing;
Now we all can rejoice and give glory to our Savior, our Risen King.

Luke 24:6-8
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words,
