Hidden Truth By Brenda Drake

            I recently saw a truth.  It hit me hard.  The donkey has a natural cross on its back; AND it carried Jesus to the place where He would carry the cross to die for our sins.  So many truths are hidden from our sight. Are you happy we are now able to hold the Savior the real Truth in our hearts?

Hidden Truth

When the donkey carried Jesus the cheering crowd believed He was to be crowned King.
They threw down their cloaks as children would dance and sing.
The donkey the Master rode sported a cross on his back.
Jesus willingly placed Himself there; there was no turning back.
The people thought He was entering to cause profit for a better life.
They missed the timing; the truth was hidden from their sight.
Shortly after, Jesus carried the cross; beaten ragged and sore.
Many of the same crowd was now crying “Crucify” to the Lord.
He was traveling to Golgotha to truly set them free.
Again the truth they did not see.
Upon the cross He was pinned to die,
Between two thieves the Son of God was crucified.
The earth quaked, devils danced, and the heavens wept,
Still the people were blind and lost in confusion’s midst.
But into deaths door light enter in.
God paid the price for new life to begin.
Death could not hold Him; He is light, and the way.
He is alive!  He is the light that shines truth for those who believe to this day.

Romans 6:6-7
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  For he that is dead is freed from sin

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

He Did it All for You By Brenda Drake

There is no greater feeling than the moment we truly realize Jesus suffered and died for us.  The wages of sin is death; He paid the debt we could never pay.  Because He lives we are able to live a life set free from sin and forever blessed.  The truth is; He did it all for you!

He Did it All for You

Mary poured her life’s earnings on Jesus head,
An unknown man prepared a place at the Master’s request.
Judas made the decision to plan,
The betrayal of the Son of man.
The disciples listened but did not hear,
They followed but soon ran away in fear.
Jesus prayed in the garden; by himself set aside,
He wept with great agony inside.
Peter along with his friends,
Slept and could not keep watch with Him
Judas arrived with a great crowd of men,
With the sign of a kiss he directed them.
Like a pure innocent lamb,
They angrily delivered the Son of man;
Into a biased court to be crucified;
Jesus God’s Son for each of them would die.
Peter was reminded of the Master’s prediction,
That he would deny Him with great conviction.
The world about us is doing the same things,
Some serve, some deny, and some betray the King.
But the truth is Jesus loved us all so much,
He died and rose again to administer His touch.
His touch forgives and makes new,
All that hear and believe; He did it all for you.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 2:2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Life is Stronger than Death By Brenda Drake

There was one thing I never wanted to talk about; Death: I was petrified of it.  I still am nor fond of it, and surely wish there was no such thing, but I am not now traumatized thinking of it anymore for my Lord promises never to leave me or forsake me.  He will be with me when I walk through that door. What a wonderful work Jesus did for us on the cross.  He not only paid our debt of sin but He showed us just how He would help us conquer death by the example of His victory on resurrection day.

Life is Stronger than Death

Life is stronger than death when you belong to Christ.
Life lives on when in God you delight.
Eternal life with Jesus is as walking through the opened door.
Death’s fear has no threat anymore.
Jesus is Life and The Way,
He is Savior in every way.
He chose to take your place,
So you could His eternal life embrace.
Resurrection’s power death’s hold loosed and the soul released.
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice there lies ahead perfect peace.
The truth and power of Jesus over the grave,
Is the life-giving truth you are from its hold saved.
Jesus died and rose again to rescue the lost.
All who believe and come by way of the cross,
Have the same hope in their final quest,
Because of Jesus they rest in His promises.
Those not acquainted with the truth that sets them free,
Are not able to His resurrection-power receive.
They will die only to live without God in their life;
A hellish existence; forever without Christ.
God so loves the world He sent His Son Jesus to die in our place.
Whosoever will believe will receive His amazing grace.
They too will be of God’s family a part.
Never to be separated again from the Father’s heart.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57
Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?
Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

If I Had a Canvas White By Brenda Drake

This poem is in my new daily devotional book released on Amazon, titled God’s Whispers to the Heart By Brenda Drake

Whisper: You are the work of my hand.

1 Peter 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

If I Had a Canvas White

If I had a canvas white,
Where I could paint a picture of my life;
I wonder would I be honest and paint in the things,
That I do not like or are not pleasing to my King?
Or would my picture only show,
What I want the world to know?
I think it would be a boring picture that no one could relate too;
Bland and uninteresting, and easily looked through.
But God is the Master painter …He paints it as it is.
Everything we see as a shadow is expertly finished as His.
Every hurt and trouble is lovingly painted in;
But it still is made into a life that glorifies Him.
He is still at work; each day an added stroke with expert hand.
My life is His now and I am already signed by I AM.
Nothing is hidden I am transparent before Him I adore.
That the world gets a glimpse of Him within me is what I am living for.

One day we will in awe behold the masterpiece You have created!

Celebrate Jesus By Brenda Drake

Celebrate Jesus

We celebrate His birth and give gifts to men.
The world has never received a greater gift than Him.
We remember the day He suffered and passed away,
With sadness and call it Good Friday.
The world passes candy bunnies and eggs colored bright;
On the day we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ.

Jesus died a horrible death to set us free;
He lived to pay the sin-debt for you and me.
He shined as Light in darkness as the Truth to show the Way;
He that gives us new life did not in the tomb stay.
He is alive and is now waits for all who will to come;
Into the Father’s provision; through the sacrifice of His Son.

There is a greater celebration that is soon to be,
When the One who lived to die, returns to His Bride receive.
The world indeed will one day know and will on their knees proclaim,
Jesus is Lord and God and as they bow their head in shame.

This is the day to crown Jesus as Lord and King of your life.
Let us celebrate together His resurrection and lift Him high in delight.

Jesus Walks There Too By Brenda Drake

1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God

In our everyday, mundane life it may seem like we are not doing anything of value for God. We will certainly be surprised when the Lord commends us, for something we felt was insignificant.  He sees everything we do for He walks with us in even in seemingly unimportant tasks.

Jesus Walks There Too

Wherever you are, and where ever you go to,
Pray His work is done; He is the Word in you.
You are the holy place He dwells, and all things to Him belong.
Wherever your foot falls, is His, and must yield to His arm strong.
You are indeed the body and Christ is the head.
The body goes and does and is by the Spirit led.
When doing dishes, laundry, or when you take time to sing,
At toil or at play, do all to glorify your King.
When speaking words kind to the neighbor or gently counseling a friend,
In the name of Jesus you are ministering for Him.
At times even when you are asleep,
The song of praise that flows is sweet.
As the dwelling place of the most Holy One, my friend.
Do not worry; you and God are as one, so represent Him.
When in your eyes you fail; quickly repent as you pray
In Jesus name you are forgiven; sin is cast away.
Be aware for it is true
Wherever you are; Jesus walks there too.

Prayer
Lord, help me to do all things with you in mind.  May you be glorified in my every task.

Torn Flower By Brenda Drake

I love this poem God gave me.  Its message is a beautiful glimpse of the love bestowed upon us by the Lover of our Soul.  When we practice loving like Jesus we will be aware of those that are used and abused or almost unseen in a busy, worldly, cruel world.

Torn Flower

In the rocky soil in the appointed place,
The little flower lifts up it face.
Perhaps no one ever notices but still it is there,
To offer its aroma to anyone that cares.
Now in this story you may begin to perceive,
That every bloom is important to Me.
Sometimes you get a glimpse of someone others pass by;
And you appreciate their touch upon your life.
Perhaps their aroma has sweetened the air you breathe;
And they have become very precious to thee.
What I want you to see is the one stepped upon;
The one that all their beauty is gone.
They are ragged from the cares of life and the world’s abuse.
They are forgotten and tossed aside like an old pair of shoes.
I desire for you to see the torn flowers, help them know,
That the God that so loved the world loves them so.
Put your arms out and gather them close and you will see,
They become a beautiful display: a bouquet for the King.
Love the unlovely, love the flowers torn;
For such are the ones in God’s kingdom and are the reborn.
Do you remember your condition before God came into your life?
How terrible was the condition of the soul before the touch of Christ.
You prove that torn flowers may be completely restored,
By the good work of love – becoming a glory to the Lord.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Love’s Ability By Brenda Drake

Love’s Ability

There are no limits in loves ability to touch another;
It has powerful affect – left yet undiscovered.
(Love) refrains from the hard-word of condemnation.
It turns about; to reverse confrontation.
Love’s touch is noted by God above,
 It is stamped with His approval of love.
Love speaks some words that only God hears,
Your inner desires are very clear.
The world has need to possess, to hoard, and to control,
All that they desire to hold.
But the God-kind of love is open and free
He loved you so much He died to set you free
His desire is for you to love Him so much;
You choose to allow within His touch.
Choose life or choose death; it is up to you.
Love’s choices will God’s loving provisions choose.
Your co-operation with Him much profit finds.
His love flows through you, as He designs.
Your prayers for another and even loving deeds,
Randomly sown in acts of kindness; are kingdom seeds.
There are no boundaries in love’s ability to touch,
Even in a word of rhyme, are found seeds of God’s love.

Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Safe Place By Brenda Drake

            I rarely felt secure as a child.  And I never felt sheltered as a young adult.  I almost always feel protected as a Christ follower.  In troubled times I remember who dwells in me and watches over me.  Jesus is my protector, my Savior and my closest friend.  I run to Him like baby chicks run to safety under their mother’s wing.

The Safe Place

There is a wonderful place,
Where you are completely safe.
In the world you may wonder and ask,
Is there truly a place we can go without lack?
Safe from the death sentence that destroys heart, body and soul?
Safe from evil that desires take control?
Safe from a life forever tainted and stained?
Safe from burden’s terrible heavy chains?
Is there a place where the angels sing?
Where in loving care there waits a loving King?
Where the sun shines and there is no worry lines on the face?
Where every sin and shame is forever erased?
Yes it is real and true.
There is such a place ahead for you.
In this place the air is clean with not a threat in sight.
In this place there is no darkness only light;
Safe from the sin and heartache of the worldly atmosphere.
However, in the care of Jesus your safe place is now right here.
Remember now your safe place is in Christ.
He is the shelter you can claim for each day of your life.

Psalms 15:8-9
I have set the Lord always before me:
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth:
my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good
work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

All are Known but Not All Know By Brenda Drake

I remember wondering as a small child does God know me?  If He was real I wondered why He would not speak to me?  Now I know, not only did God know me, He knew me in my mother’s womb.  Not only does He hear me He speaks to me in countless ways.  He loves every person born and not yet born.  Jesus died to pay the debt of sin so we could partake in the holy, eternal future planned for His creation to live in His presence.

All are Known but Not All Know

The lonely soul forlornly sitting in a chair,
Wondering if there is anyone aware and cares,
The mother struggling to raise their youngsters right,
With fading strength in a never-ending fight.
The young man or woman that feels only dread,
When they plan for the future they see ahead.
The war-torn survivor of sickness or shame,
And those that have little of value; except their good name.
The loving soul that loves to love,
That has not yet found the truth to the way above.
The proud or obnoxious one that blows like the wind,
That pushes and shoves affection away him.
The widow who cries herself to sleep,
The strong self-sufficient one that refuses to weep,
The Ones slammed by disaster knocking at the door.
And those who are like a storm that does not care anymore.
The one that speaks loud things,
That sputters and dishonors everyone and everything.
Those with hearts repented with eyes opened wide;
That allows God’s wisdom and strength inside.
For all that walk, talk, live, think, or feel;
There is One who died on a cross and rose again desires to their heart heal
All are known and loved and cared for.
But not all know or feel the love of Jesus Christ the Lord.

Psalms 147:5
Great is our Lord, and of great power:
his understanding is infinite.

Psalms 139:1-6
O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising,thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down,
and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue,
but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before,
and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
