Who Touched Me? By Brenda Drake

            There was a story of the woman who spent all her earthly wealth to receive healing to her body. She reached out to touch the hem of the garment of Jesus, the One she believed would help her.  Her faith received answer from the same One who would His sacrifice heal everything we need.  We spend a lifetime doing things on our own and in our own way.  Our life is wasted seeking what our heavenly Father provided for us through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus.

Who Touched Me

Who touched me? Asked the Master even though He knew
They would receive what they seek to make them new.
Faith reached out in their need,
With hope to restoration and deliverance receive.
All needs the touch of the Master in their life;
Physical, mental, and spiritual; for things are just not right.
Hearts ache because of pain, sin, and troubles all about;
And yet they attempt to carry it all by their self.
Reach out to touch God so He can touch your life.
He delivers life, peace, strength, and new insight.
Jesus from the cross said, forgive them they know not what they do;
As His sinless life was harshly touched with every infirmity and every sin too.
His blood flowed to cover who-so-ever would come.
His limitless love accomplished the Father’s will was done.
In the garden God called Adam where are you?
Just as He asked him He now asks the same of you.
What are you? Will you admit your sin?
There is no chance for total-healing until then.
When you reach out to Jesus, and you allow His touch within.
You will never have doubt again.
For you know you are eternally marked as Mine;
For you are fully able to touch another as the Father designed.

Luke 8:46-48
And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

More Than You Can See By Brenda Drake

The love of God is much more than we are able to comprehend, but we will spend eternity seeking to see all the glory of God.  Until then we are able to understand His great love by His masterplan to provide the way for us to spend eternity with Him. Jesus’ life and death and resurrection allow us to see God is Love.

More Than You Can See

God’s ways are infinite, more than the mind is able to count;
Man is ever-learning but never fully comprehending its amount.
With all man’s knowledge he barely conceives,
The reality of eternity.
The Creator of all is much more than life,
He is truth, He is the Way, and He is light.
So great is the idea of who He is and all He has done,
That it will cause the mind to explode before it has just begun.
The realization of the power and authority and the reach of His grasp,
In awesomeness of wonder stops you in your tracks.
The One who does know the number of the grains of sand;
And that named each star and knows every man’s plans;
The One who tells the ocean to in its place stay;
And who paints the sky with grand display,
Knows each person’s name and each hair on their head.
Is infinitely more than ever is able to be said,
The One who is the Word, loves to speak to you even in rhyme,
Your God is very glad to be able to say, “You are Mine.”
This God is able to do all you need and more.
Put your faith and trust in Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Jesus is the face of love the Father sent to show,
The One that is more than fully understood cares for every man’s soul.

Ephesians 4:16-19
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Rely on the Word of God By Brenda Drake

God reveals His love, His provision, His plan and His purpose for us through the Word of God.  If you desire to know Him, read the Word.  If you desire to hear His voice, read the Word. If you need direction, comfort, and strength again I say read the Word.  Hope, faith, and joy are packed into its pages. God promises are rock-solid strong stand on them. When all else has failed you can count on and rely on the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God that spoke loud from the cross in our behalf. Rely on Him

Rely on the Word of God

Relying of the Word is the way of life,
Of the one who is a follower of Christ.
Jesus is the Word of God that spoke life from the cross.
He offered His life to pay the sin-debt of the lost.
Jesus the Word spoke into all He touched:
Life, increase, compassion, and healing- love.
The wise rely on the promises written in the Word.
They do not lean to their own understanding when trouble occurs.
When sick they depend on the truth to set them free.
As you stand on God’s Word, it stands strong in thee.
When the world tosses and turns with confusing sounds,
The wise run to the Word of God to lift to higher ground.
In the stressful-place of uncertainty, lies, and lying- tongues.
Travel to the pages of God’s wisdom where the truth comes.
Rely on the Word,  rely on Jesus what He says and what He has done.
Rejoice when you His, and prepares a place.
Where peace and joy reside and fear and death are erased.
Rely on His Word given to give you strength,
It is food for the hungry and living-water to drink.
The Word of God is truth, those who adhere to its precepts are wise.
They have a heart full; awake with opened eyes.
They have lamp tended and watch for their Lord’s return.
Because of God’s grace, and their faith, they receive eternal-blessings unearned.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

When Freedom Has Lost its Touch By Brenda Drake

            At Christmas we at times need to be reminded the reason for the season; the same now as we celebrate the Fourth of July.  Remember we are celebrating our freedom.  Do not let her pass away from our midst.

When Freedom Has Lost its Touch

When freedom’s touch no longer remains,
All that is left is just the name.
The land of the free and home of the brave,
Loses the battle of the progress made.
When freedom has lost its touch you will be,
The land that once was free.
Stand up for her, for her fight;
In her arms of protection delight.|
Honor her, encourage her to stay.
Get on your heart’s knees and for her pray.
Join together and remember her good qualities again;
Sing her praise with the freedom that lives within.
In God we trust, this is the key;
Because of His favor we are set free.
Free to worship, free to live life,
Free to choose to honor Christ.
When freedom has her touch remember once again,
Never will the heart be set free from the freedom found in Him.

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Passion For Change By Brenda Drake

Our God was passionate in His quest to change our destiny.  His love never tires in His holy work within us.  He is glorified when our lives become a light that testifies of our love and passion for Him and His Word.

Passion for Change

The Father’s love passionately reaches through the Holy work of the Son,
To draw to Him every willing, seeking heart that will come.
A holy hunger fervent in its quest,
To make new and whole, every believing soul, that will Jesus name confess.
Intensely committed, to finish the good work He did start,
Jesus, the Savior moves into the heart.
The yielded heart is made whole; completely changed,
With motives, attitudes and desires rearranged.
They are little by little shaped to be,
 A living, example, so the world will see.
The love of the Father within them dwells,
His strength and power lives there as well.
The more you die to self and live for Jesus and do as He would do,
His authority, His love, and His passion rise up strong in you.
Willing to change with desire to another assist;
They are fervent against sin and all unrighteousness.
Changing, and redesigning the landscape of their life
As new territories are conquered, by and for, the glory of Jesus Christ!

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Love Builds a Bridge By Brenda Drake

            We were hopelessly lost with no way to pay the debt of our sin. Our heavenly Father sent His Son Jesus to pay for our sins with the sacrifice of His holy life upon a rugged cross.  Jesus provided the bridge of Salvation for us to be able to be a forever part of His love.

Love Builds a Bridge

Love builds a bridge over the muddy place,
Love seeks to extend mercy and grace.
Love leads to higher ground,
It will not-it refuses to push or put down.
Bridge-building love extends a helping hand;
Setting to work to mend, and heal the best way it can.
Love walks the extra mile it takes for success,
Love bows low to at God’s feet rest.
Bridges of love needs mending at times.
When your love gets prickly and hard to define,
Come to the One that builds love strong again.
Come to Jesus the Master-Builder, rely on Him.
He is the restorer of the breach, His divine touch restores.
The needed wisdom is found in Christ the Lord.
When two or more agree together in prayer,
The One who knows and hears all is there.
God is love and Jesus is love’s way.
He is the Good News of Salvation portrayed.
When you belong to Christ and you practice what you preach,
You will do what needs to be done to the lost soul reach.
You also become a bridge-builder to cause peace in the land.
As You love others as yourself you are doing as Jesus commands.
Love builds a bridge to lead the way,
To the other side where the Prince of Peace stays.

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

There is No Distance in Love By Brenda Drake

The word love is thrown about carelessly; but love is more than mere words. Love was offered by our heavenly Father when He sent His Son to die for our sins. True love was demonstrated by Jesus. He spoke His love for man from the cross when He died to pay the debt we could not pay.  He is our example to follow.  When we know who He is we know the truth -God is Love.

There is No Distance in Love

There is no distance in love’s ability to touch another.
It has such a powerful affect, it is left yet undiscovered.
Love abstains from hard-words of condemnation.
It turns about; to reverse adverse confrontations
Our gentle touch is noted by God above;
It is stamped with His approval of love.
Love has silent love-words that only God hears,
Your inner desires and thoughts are very clear.
The world has need to possess, to hoard, and to control,
Everything they desire to have and to hold.
But the God-kind of love is open and free.
He loved you so much He died to set you free indeed.
His desire is for you to love Him so much;
You choose to allow within His touch.
Choose life or choose death; it is all up to you.
The wise will God’s loving provision choose.
Your co-operation with Him will much profit find.
His love flows through you, to another as He designs.
Your prayers, with good words, and loving deeds,
With random acts of kindness; are all kingdom seeds.
There is no distance in love’s ability to touch,
Even in a word of rhyme, are found seeds of His love.

John 15:12-14
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

The Wonder of Such Love By Brenda Drake

        Sometimes is difficult to like someone we love.  God loves us even when we are unlikable. It is difficult to understand a love such as this.  Nonetheless I will be eternally thankful He sees me beautiful, new and sinless under the blood of Jesus’ atoning blood.

The Wonder of Such Love

Do you wonder at a love that sees past our flaws,
Something perfect, that would be condemned by God’s laws?
The redeemed are beautiful in God’s eyes,
Although our perfection is as yet unrecognized.
This kind of love says, I AM is satisfied by Jesus’ work on the cross.
The cost was great; much was sacrificed to save the lost.
This great love forms and shapes from within,
To become a living sacrifice that will live for Him.
What a gift given to redeem from God above;
The gift of sanctification bestowed with love.
Isn’t it a wonder when words of love and life speaks,|
Into and through vessels so flawed and weak?
God’s strength and righteousness is in and upon us placed.
All as a free undeserved-gift of acceptance under grace.
Do you still wonder at a love as great as stated in rhyme?
I AM calls each of us holy, beautiful and Mine.
Even if you still wonder how could this be true;
Love is God’s nature and one day it will be our forever nature too.

Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

A Steady Pace By Brenda Drake

       God calls us to live for Him, and to share the good news with those we meet.  Sometimes we feel our service has not accomplished much.  I am so glad God sees things differently.  He also sees the intent of our heart.  I have found myself victorious on the other side of a difficult situation I did not think I would or could undertake; only with God’s help… one step at a time.

A Steady Pace

Take one step at a time, walk at a steady pace,
And with God’s strength each obstacle face;
With a song on your heart and with God on Your mind,
With each step – one day at a time,
Your great task is accomplished you have done it again.
You finish that, that you did not desire to begin,
With God you are able, be willing and you will see,
The doors ahead open for thee.
Pick up your countenance and put on a working-face.
With joy on your heart, your future embrace.
 I AM is with you every step of the way,
I AM is the needed sunshine in your day.
You need to answer only to God above.
All you need is to fulfill His call to love,
Take time to pray and prepare to depart,
To the place-new where new beginnings start.

Hebrew 12:1
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Proverbs 4:26-27
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.,

Gathered in His Loving Fold By Brenda Drake

        I wondered how we as God’s children are asked to come like a child and yet are expected to grow up to become mature Christ-followers.  It is now easy for me to see how at times I am like a spoiled little baby; whining, complaining, and demanding to get my own way, and at other times I demonstrate the wonderful childlike faith that is pleasing to our heavenly Father. I believe my God is always for me.  I with His help trusts Him to work things out for my best.

Gathered in His Loving Fold

New babies make their demands
When they need a helping hand.
When they are hungry and need to be fed;
If they can speak or not you know what is said.
When frustrated or hurt and they cry out in fear;
Their eyes fill up with tears
Good parents are responsible and are there for them,
For they truly love and care for them.
Children learn by example and by words that teach;
With love present the truth inside will reach.
In God’s kingdom it works the same way,
By Jesus’ example and as His Word is obeyed;
His followers bring their petitions in prayer to God above.
They also see clearly His favor and feel His love.
With the more mature child things do not change,
But if they still throw tantrums it would seem strange.
The one wise humbly makes their requests;
And allows God to work things out for their best.
Trust in God’s care and in His faithfulness rest and you will see,
The Holy Spirit directs to the way that is best for thee.
You too will become a good example for another to behold;
So they also are gathered into His loving fold.

Psalms 85:13
Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

I John 2:6

            He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
