Do You Remember When? By Brenda Drake

            I marvel at the changes that have taken place in our lifetime; not all are good. But one day we will see a change where all is good.  I look forward to the day when Jesus sets up His kingdom on earth.  We will indeed be in an even better place than even our best past good memories.

Do You Remember When?

Do you remember when children would play,
In the street at night as well as in day?|
When the neighbor was friendly even if not a friend?
And when the flag was saluted with pride deep within?
Do you remember when love was more than a word?
When it was felt more than its name was heard?
Do you remember when food was mostly prepared,
At home by loving hands when shared?
When books and magazines were displayed by the door;
To browse without fear of polluting a child’s mind or yours?
Remember when you could playfully bribe your child with a dime;
And when you had more control of your time?
When games were played by the old and the young?
When families and friends gathered to have some fun?
Do you remember reading a good book not wanting it to rest?
Do you fondly recall the many times your life was blessed?
Times have change it seems to a much too fast paced life,
Where quiet peaceful times are at times sacrificed.
In the troubled world where stress is known to overtake,
There is available a peaceful, resting place.
Where you actually the Father’s embrace know;
Fully convinced He is still in control.
The place where you are able to lay every burden down,
And where good things are restored and new memories are found.
In this place you meet with the One that loves man so much,
He died to set them free so He could our lives touch.
In Kingdom-land there is much promise of better days to come,
Where past memories dim in comparison.
Our “remember when’s” are changed to anticipation of what’s ahead.
Oh great day, with God’s promises we have nothing to dread.

Colossians 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

More Than Enough By Brenda Drake

More Than Enough The stories in the Bible are read but not always taken in, But if they seek it will speak to them. The great crowd had a few fish and loaves of bread; Their little seemed useless but when the disciples did as Jesus said, Their little more than enough became. Circumstances were overpowered when the Word of increase came. The little you have to share if need be, When the Word arrives even more visits thee. Lord, all I am and all I have is Yours in fact; With You on my side what do I lack Lord I ask? This is answer-right to the question in your ear. Your little will be enough so others lack disappears. The story of the woman that would seek crumbs, To receive the good deed she needed done. She believed the source was greater than her need, So content on the crumbs she would feed. What about you?  Is your heart able to see, Your lack is not more than I am able to provide for thee? When you ask do you believe it will be done? Or are you uncertain the answer comes? The story of the blind men that all received sight, Who all jumped in joy and great delight, All rushed off to places they desired to be, But one came back to praise the One that set them free. When you were unable to behold the Light, And the truth was far from your sight? When you were healed did you go your way? Or did you choose to at His feet stay? What about now? Now and then, Do you return to thank God again? There are so many lessons in the Word when applied to your life, Your walk is all you desire it to be, more than enough as you glorify Christ. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. More Than Enough

The stories in the Bible are read but not always taken in,

Their little more than enough became.

With You on my side what do I lack Lord I ask?

This is answer-right to the question in your ear.
Your little will be enough so others lack disappears.
The story of the woman that would seek crumbs,
To receive the good deed she needed done.
She believed the source was greater than her need,
So content on the crumbs she would feed.

Flower of Faith By Brenda Drake

The first word of the salvation plan planted as a seed quickly grows into wonderful faith that flowers to receive the gift the Father had always planned.  What a great day, and what a wonderful gift bestowed upon us.  What a privilege and honor to know He not only saved us He desires to help us each day to accomplish all we were destined to do.  The only thing that will perhaps surpass the beauty of salvation will be the day I am wrapped in the arms of Jesus on the other side.

Flower of Faith

Limited is the flesh; it is moved when eyes see
But the spirit-man by faith believes.
As you begin to understand,
You will receive as the Father plans.
You will receive with heart open wide,
When the flower of faith blooms inside.
Set your heart to good things expect.
Your God has not changed His plans for great benefit.
Do what you can do, always do your best.
Do not get out of sorts and stressed.
Remember God is your divine supply,
I assure you your water never runs dry.
So great is the river that flows to you and through your life.
Many will come and take a drink of Christ.
With heart ready and mind on God’s Word,
With face set in confidence new faith occurs.
Shout from the housetops the Good News.

And God’s favor floods over you.

Hebrew 11:5
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Your Majesty By Brenda Drake

Prayer time has so many faces.  There are times we come with petitions for our needs, to lift up a world-problem, or ask for help in a situation affecting the life of family or friends.  There are times of thanks, praise, and abandonment of worship.  Then there are the times we pray for clear direction, or seek instructions on what our King desires us to accomplish.  The sweetest times are when all we want is to spend time with the One you love and that faithfully shows He is the eternal lover of our soul.

Your Majesty

I come before You this day;
You alone are worthy of all worship and praise.
I bow at Your feet to hear instructions of the Word.
I am thankful to be counted worthy to serve.
Your Majesty, I know there is much work to do,
But I want to spend extra time with You.
As I at Your feet rest,
Again strength is regained to do my best.
When I come to worship thee;
What a beautiful future I by faith see.
In the quiet I hear my name lifted up.
In this special time of prayer You fill my cup.
Your whispered love speaks in my ear,
To assure our shared time together You hold dear.
As Your redeemed I seek to honor God above;
Together our hearts dance to salvation’s song of love.
Again I am ready to start a new day in service to the King.
Your Majesty, You cause my heart to sing!

Ephesians 3:19
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be
 filled with all the fulness of God.

The Whispered Prayer By Brenda Drake

         I was relaxing in my recliner watching an evangelist when I recognized the terrible condition of my soul.  I whispered my desire to be saved from the wages of my sin.  God heard me and I felt something was different.  It took a while for me to know the difference was I was born again, a new creation.  Jesus now dwells in my heart; and I am now eternally one with Jesus, the Lover of my soul.

The Whispered Prayer

The whispered prayer when no one is near,
Sounds loud in the Father’s ear.
The change of direction within,
When the heart first desires to follow Him,
Even before your first silent prayer,
Your God is already there.
Ready, willing and able to your life change,
As deep within things are completely rearranged.
At the first invitation from lips of clay,
The God of heaven moves in prepared to stay.
The body houses royalty, it will one day shine like the Son.
Because of repented prayer you are now with Him as one.

< < < <

Every need is known but I love to hear your voice when you pray.
I hear the songs within and your thoughts when they stray.
But remember, God’s love differs from the love of man.
My love is eternal because that is who I am.
I AM Father, that loved you enough to send,
My Son Jesus to pay the price of your sin.
So come whisper to all your requests
Know and count on I give you what is  best.

Jeremiah 29:12-13
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Come to the Fountain By Brenda Drake

There is no more precious place than in the flow of the Spirit.  Every good blessing is found there; joy, peace, and contentment are just the beginning of the benefits of God’s gift of Salvation.  Oh how I love to enter the presence of God; the Word of God fills with Living Water every day.

Come to the Fountain

Come to the fountain, Living Water is found there.
It gives you strength to show how much God cares.
When you come to this place I tell
Thirst is quenched and great peace inside dwells.
Joy visits as righteousness lives within
Hearts are reformed into the image of God again.
Living Water deeply satisfies,
For now the Spirit lives deep inside.
Come to the fountain; in God’s presence draw near,
Drink in wisdom; God’s Word chases away fear.
Despair is no more for Jesus provided the way,
To drink all you thirst for until He returns on that great day.

Psalms 36:9
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

Isaiah 12:3
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

John 4:14
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The Rain Drop By Brenda Drake

When we were young we would play in the rain, when older we run to get out of the rain.  As God’s chosen we pray for His love to rain on us.  I desire to soak in His love.  Lord, rain Your love on me.

The Rain Drop

Precious is the rain drop in the dry place.
Precious to all the world is God’s grace.
God’s grace is more valuable than any other thing.
It comes from a heart that gave everything.
The love of the Father is manifested in the name of Jesus Christ.
Jesus was sacrificed to be the answer for our life.
He was sent to give life to those not alive anymore.
He died to save the fallen, the diseased, and the poor.
He is the rain that waters the earth.
He is the living water that gives the dead and dry rebirth.
The Precious Rain is multiplied again and again,
As He gives new life to you, you become more of Him.
The Church: a river of raindrops; flows to show God’s grace.
They water more and more of the desert place.
One day the Lord shall gather every reborn-soul,
Then the full love and mercy of God on them overflows.
They will be as a sea of glass, with multitudes inside;
Such a glorious picture; forever as Jesus’ bride.

I John 3:16
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Isaiah 32:2
And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

Fisher of Men By Brenda Drake

            I am not a fisherman, but my heart thrilled at Jesus’ invitation for His disciples to become a fisher of men.  Somehow I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.

Fisher of Men

Fishing can be a lot of fun;
Relaxing for the old and exciting for the young.
It takes a little preparation; but the most important thing,
Is to have the right bait more than anything.
The fishing the Lord desires us to do,
Attracts others to the water that holds promise for you.
The heart that hungers for souls will do well;
For they draw by the life-testimony they tell.
All people have a need deep within;
To be saved from the desperate death-hold of sin.
Come, let us go fishing allow your day to be,
Mindful of souls that are hungry and seeking to be free.
Throw out the truth (the life-line) to them.
It is done by living what you believe and by being a friend.
Be ready always to share the good news of Christ;
Be always a willing, living sacrifice.
Come, this is the day perhaps for a big catch,
I will go with you for I know right where they’re at.

Matthew 4:19
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Victory in Battle By Brenda Drake

            There is a war raging with many battles.  Evil wars against good; but with God on our side we will win our battles, we already know God has won the war.  It is time to shake off all doubt and fear and get ready to win our next battle.

Victory in the Battle

The battlefield is littered with debris;
As the chosen throw down things that hinder they are freed.
The mind is clear; new purpose to their step.
Gone are fear and doubt, good things they expect.
Wide are the doors, no longer bared from the way;
Determination is written on every face.
Gates are stormed; the enemies’ lines are pushed back.
The truth is spoken as facts.
Some listen and hear its call,
And some in joy to their knee falls.
Some struggle to be free from sin,
They desire to the battle win.
Come as you are, I will make you new.
I have been busy preparing you.
Some as you are and you will see great things,
As you join the army in service to Christ the King.
Praise and prayer and a life that freely testifies;
That submits to God’s authority and trusts in His supply;
That reaches out to help and give glory to God’s Son,
A might move of God soon comes.
Rushing, mighty wind of mercy and grace,
Sweep over the world from place to place.
Great work from heart to heart,
Great rushing winds of revival starts.
Battles of victory for the redeemed man;
Wake up oh sleepy eyes to see how God renews your land.

1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
