Music the Language of Love By Brenda Drake

I love to sing at Church and some of the old songs are firmly imbedded in my heart.  They visit and come to life at some weird times and stay awhile and will not let go.  I know it is the spirit within that just has to sing praises to God for all He has done in my life.

Music the Language of Love

Music speaks a language all hearts can hear.
The melody keeps playing in the ear.
Love’s music when anointed travels fast and sure,
It reaches the heart with its message pure.
The listening heart opens wide,
To let the lovely lyrics inside.
Now the heart is like a sponge it fills up and then,
The song of praise and worship enters in.
The sweet Spirit orchestrates the symphony inside,
The joy of the Father comes alive.
Jesus, the song of heaven is lifted up,
As the thirsty soul lifts up their cup.
As you your lovely melodies compose,
There is one thing I want you to know.
I am hearing what your heart sings too,
And I also join in and rejoice in you.
Have you noticed even in the wee hours of night?
Your heart is rejoicing in delight?
Throughout the day do you find you are humming to God above?
Know it is a special language of love.
When your heart is in agreement with the love of your life,
You’re singing a duet with the Spirit of Christ!

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17

Heaven’s Sweet Display By Brenda Drake

Life is a gift. The world has some beautiful, heart-warming times and also  some heart-breaking dark instances to be faced. There is great joy knowing, one day, I will be at home in the beauty and holiness of Heaven.  The sweet assurance of eternal life with the Lord and Savior of my soul is satisfyingly sweet.

Heaven’s Sweet Display

Heavens vast terrain is filled with a display so sweet;
Love permeates the atmosphere with eternal peace.
Bright with the splendor of the Father…..not one shadow in sight,
For everything is filled with the glory of His light.
Perfume fills the air with the sweetness of the Divine;
Beautiful, pure, and holy as the Father designed.
Eyes are wide with wonder as joy floods each one;
Marvelous and grand is the presence of the Holy One.
Angels rejoice as they behold redeemed man,
As the realms of forever, within they begin to understand.
Love flows from the Risen Savior as He beholds His bride.
Every fiber of their being is vibrantly alive.
In faith see the procession; as the chosen approach the throne.
When the Father says, welcome; glad you found the way home;
Welcome to the family, I am pleased you chose to believe.
You were a called and chosen to God’s pardon receive.
Because of what Jesus did for you …you are now forever Mine.
Enjoy now heavens wonders without the boundary of time.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy
right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalms 16:11

Behold The Lamb By Brenda Drake

John the Baptist was a forerunner to pave the way for the One who would take away the sins of the world.  We all need to repent our sin and allow God’s holy work to be accomplished in our life. Then, Jesus makes us an ambassador to lead the lost to the cross of Christ.

Out in the desert there was a man,
That taught the waiting world about the Lamb.
Sin was recognized and the wise repented,
This man was the one the Lamb represented.
“Behold the Lamb of God” said he.
Behold the Lamb and in Him believe.
Out in the world’s desert are many that are lost.
Many much like John will lead them to the cross.
There they will see their sin on the Lamb placed.
There they will get their first glimpse of God’s grace.
Behold the Lamb that was sacrificed;
Behold the Lamb that paid your sin’s price.
Behold the love of the Father that sent salvation to man,
Through His only Son, …through the sacrificed Lamb.
Oh how precious is the flow,
That makes you white as snow.
Come all that has deep need in your soul;
Believe in Jesus that makes you new and whole.
He who died now lives and He is the Word, that is true.
When you believe you receive as He lives His life through you.
Others out in the desert of evil will watch God’s plan unfold.
When they hear the Good News….The Lamb they too will behold

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
John 1:36

Who Needs a Doctor, Who Needs a Friend by Brenda Drake

I had a great hunger and thirst for God, and I needed a doctor, and  a friend. I am thankful someone took time to show me the way to find Him.

Who Needs a Doctor

Who needs a doctor?  Who needs a friend?
Who is it that is poor in spirit within?
What man is hungry? Does he thirst too?
Can this one find what he lacks when he comes to you?
Are you filled with the indwelling Christ?
Is He able to minister through your life?
His love refills and restores, His strength empowers
So great is His desire to upon His chosen His blessings shower.
If you need a doctor…if you need a friend;
If you are poor in spirit come freely to receive again.
He will not hold back in anger nor will He turn away.
For He needs many more laborers, to help show the lost the way.

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
Psalms 103:3-6

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me
Matthew 25:35-40

Searching By By Brenda Drake

Truly all I ever searched for is found in the knowledge, and in my decision to follow Jesus. I am now searching the vast wonders of the love of God.

Searching

Men gather riches in their search for peace,
They explore in many places for wisdom to increase.
They walk many miles making their way in life;
But what they need to search for, is the way of Christ.
Searching for purpose in a world with no lasting future for them;
Searching for the comfort of a lasting friend;
Searching for truth …the meaning of life;
There is constant search for what is wrong and right;
And what does or does not belong;
Searching for the ability to remain young, healthy and strong.
I have good news to tell those that are in the search still;
There is one name that will the whole search fulfill.
Jesus…He is the truth, life and the way.
He is the Prince of peace and your friend to stay.
He is the most strong that all things can do.
He, by His work on the cross-made the way for you.
He is what the soul searches for.
He is King of kings and Lord of lords.
Jesus gives new purpose and is the provision for all your needs.
He the future that shines bright and He is the one that leads.
Jesus is the answer to every need or question within.
He is the One that died and lives and soon comes again.
Man’s search is over when he comes to the cross;
He then will be a light to help assist in the search of the lost.
Eternity ahead shines like diamonds on the streets of gold;
 A forever place where the riches of Christ unfold.
Where youth and vitality remain, for of Christ you are a part;
One forever, in loves light, standing heart to heart.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Matthew 7:7

Be Encouraged By the Word By Brenda Drake

Jesus is the Word of God.  When we get our eyes and heart on Him how could we not be encouraged in whatever situation we find ourselves in.

Be Encouraged By the Word

Downcast eyes with heart heavy or sad?
Are your thoughts unhappy?  Have you lost the joy you had?
Is hope is hiding, playing games with your mind?
You need to concentrate on God’s Word and with it realign.
Your future dreams have become lost in the fog of today.
Like on the wings of the wind they have flown away.
What sort of God is it you serve?
Do you not believe His Word?
Pick up your cross and follow after God’s Son.
Know His will in your life will be done.
Lift eyes in confidence, watch for the sign as small cloud in the sky;
That shows God’s answer is close by.
Renew your faith…read God’s Word.
Remember the encouraging words that you have heard.
Your future is brighter than you can see today.
It is much more productive in every way.
Walk in Jesus’ steps… thank Him for what He’s already done.
Thank Him with confidence at the good that is yet to come.

The law of his God is in his heart;
none of his steps shall slide.

Psalms 37:31

And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
1 King 18:44

Make a Splash By Brenda Drake

September 22 page in my daily devotion book God’s Whispers to the Heart available on Amazon.

Whisper: Make a difference, take a stand for good.

1 Peter 4:10 -11
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever.

Colossians 4:5
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Make a Splash

Stir the waters make a splash.
In the dark seas of the world let others know where you are at.
Speak out against sin,
Use your words to glorify God again.
In this place of liberty harsh winds may still blow,
But in the storm remember the One who is in control.
Exercise the freedom of speech while you can.
Redeem the time; for God’s principals stand.
There is a time to be peaceful; to go with the flow;
This is the time to speak against the evil that threatens your soul.
Be bold in the authority and in the strength of Christ.
Make a difference in the surroundings of your life.
Make a difference; make a stand for good right where you are at.
Stir up the waters in your world make a splash!

I will boldly stand and say I am a follower of Christ; I believe and adhere to the Word of God.

Stand in the Gap By Brenda Drake

Your prayers, and your faith can stand in the gap.
You can use your faith to help another their burden pack;
The brother or sister that is in great need,
Has perhaps  hope that they will receive.
But in their weakness they are unable to stand alone.
You can be the one that can help them find their way home.
Faith moves mountains even far across the sea,
For there is no distance in prayer if in faith you believe.
Exercise your faith speak the Word to foe or friend,
It is a gift of faith sent by love to them.
Stand in the gap reach out to assist and you will see,
That faith has made a stand and will also stand in the gap for thee.

James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Romans 8:34
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Heart Talks by Brenda Drake

There is nothing as special as the holy, personal, heart connection between God and a grateful, repented, thankful sinner’s heart; that is saved from eternal damnation.  Sweet songs of peace, joy, worship are delivered to and through His redeemed.

Heart Talks

Expressions of deep water overflows,
To reveal precious nuggets of the soul.
Sweet sounds of yearning, burning desires,
Are brought to and from God’s loving fires.
Dig deep into the hidden places find,
The sacred sacrifice, at the appointed time.
Heart-talk speaks in different ways and dialects,
To intended listeners selected best.
Love is the language all understand,
It is felt more than heard in all lands.
Expressions, impressions, and confessions all the same;
Are personally conveyed messages the heart proclaims.
Come rest at the feet of the One you adore,
Heart to heart; in touch with the Living Lord.
At worship, in work, in play, and at rest,
Whole, happy, and free; as His you are blessed.
In trouble or trial, in sickness and pain,
Heart-talk with the Master breaks heavy chains.
Jesus is the Word of God and He speaks clear,
Come closer; with hearts together, the world love’s language hears

Proverbs 23:26
My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.

Follow Me By Brenda Drake

John 12:26
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

I follow hard after my Lord, trying always to watch for the tell-tale signs of traveling the wide highways of the world.  If I get too comfortable and overly concerned with my own agenda, I know I need to re-evaluate my life.  The Word of God is my roadmap, and the light that shows the footsteps of the One I serve.

Follow Me

Follow me, says the Father in the footsteps of the Son;
As you flow in the Spirit we get the good work done.
Be as trusting as a child as you obey,
Fully confident you will on the right path stay.
With faith and trust in the One you adore,
Wearing the armor supplied by the Lord,
The way is cleared and the enemy takes flight.
You are surrounded and covered by God’s favor and light.
Keep your eyes on the Truth; He is the Way and Life.
No matter the surroundings, keep the Word in sight.
Seek the Word, speak the Word, and draw the Word near.
In prayer and in deeds, live it; loud and clear.
To love God is to love life.
To love your neighbor is to love Christ.
Come; let us continue on this journey of the heart.
Fully rest, in your Savior, who has wooed you from the start.
There is a work to be done, but He is your strength within.
You will draw and encourage others to their journey begin.
To believe on the name of Jesus; the One that sets them free,
To hear God’s call saying “Follow Me.”

There was no greater invitation.  There is no greater plan.  There is no god like my God. Keep me safe in Your hands, fulfilling Your will for me in every way.
