What Time is it? By Brenda Drake

What Time is it?

Heavy hearts, awakened very early that day;
Before, the light arrived in its morning display.
They remembered; with eyes opened wide,
The past events, when the Master was alive.
How can it be, that it is now time to attend
To the dead body, of their dear friend.
……….

What time is it? The modern man now asks on Easter morn.
Are too late for the early service when the sun-rise the sky adorns?
…………

One …had a heavy heart,
That made sad preparations at the days start.
The other has heart glad….in expectation to see
The stories unfold; that they have committed to memory.
They see by faith the Angel that had appeared.
The wonder, of Jesus; brings them to tears.
He is risen! Their songs fill the air.
The stones been rolled away, and no one is there!
By faith, the sunrise service has brought it near.
The truth of God’s love again reappears.
………

What time is it? Is asked again.
As you start the new day revived, and renewed within.
Your Lord has risen; what have you to fear?
It is time to allow your life to show, the time is near.
For His return; when He gathers His loving bride.
When the Father says, “Son, it’s time to draw her to your side”

Acts 1:11
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye

Have Trust By Brenda Drake

There are times when it seems the world is upside down and backwards.  We are brought to the place of decision to trust God or to panic and continue to fear and doubt.  The Word of God has recorded many assurances God is faithful and true.  The Holy Spirit is brings wisdom, strength and comfort to our heart, soul and mind.  We are able to trust God in every circumstance we encounter.

Have Trust

Depend on Me little friend.
Rest on Me – I will help you comprehend.
My ways are many times unrecognized;
You must see through spiritual eyes.
I give you perfect peace;
My wonders will never cease.
Have Trust good will come;
Pray God’s will on earth is done.
Plan to serve Me in all you attempt,
And your time will be well spent.
I love mankind so much;
My heart’s cry is to the world touch.
With all your heart praise and honor Jesus and His name confess.
Your future is secure and well blessed.
Do not worry and do not fear,
For your Lord is to you very near.

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.

Psalms 4:8
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest
me dwell in safety.

Enter the Rest By Brenda Drake

I used to worry and fret over everything.  Even when all was going well I would worry over what could happen.  Needless to say I did not have quality rest at night or in day.  I have learned it is so much easier to take all that is of concern to my Lord in prayer.  He is able to take care of things so much more and even better than I could ever plan.

Enter the Rest

Such love and laughter – some of the very best,
Is shown by those that in God rests.
Whatever may cause one to stumble or to fall;
As you enter rest I cushion and comfort when you call.
What is as great as what God can do?
Nothing is impossible.  I will take care of you.
My hand is ready always to lead. My eyes never stray.
I will never leave you or turn from you away.
Take rest and know I will take you to the place,
Jesus’ sacrifice has provided under the banner of grace.
Take rest and I will show you there is no one as strong.
I carry you through each problem, and help you along.
Rest in your God, you can in peace go to sleep.
I do not close My eyes on you them I keep.
All things I provide, all asked is for you to trust Me,
So then happily at peace and rest you will be.

Exodus 33:14
And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you

Free to Fly By Brenda Drake

            One of the very first Psalms that spoke loud to me was Psalms 91.  I love the way it speaks to bring faith and comfort of my Fathers promised care and love.  This poem explains exactly how and why I love to cozy up with God in my secret place.

Free to Fly

Nesting under the wings of love secure and safe,
Born to flourish in a world tainted with sin and hate,
Soft thoughts calm heart, soul, and mind,
With a deep knowing you are with God aligned.
The winds and hard rains of life swirl around,
With loud, hurtful, threatening sounds.
But the voice you listen to speaks,
Songs of Salvation that instills sweet peace.
Under God’s wing you are nourished by the Word.
The more you eat the more growth occurs.
You are not always anxious to try your wings and fly,
For you are comfortably secure, safe and dry.
But there is something you need to see.
You are able to fly because I am inside of thee.
Never are you out of My shelter and out from My cover.
I am your world, your Savior, Father and soul lover.
You are free to fly as the Spirit gives you wing;
As you go know I give you a heart that sings.

Psalms 91:1-2
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust.

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.

He Loves the Sinner By Brenda Drake

I am very thankful we did not need to clean up before we could accept Jesus as our Savior; but we did need to admit we were unclean and unable to save our self.  I can easily relate to the woman that knelt at the foot Jesus to adore the One that made her aware of a holy love she did not deserve.

He Loved the Sinner

He died for even those who spat and slapped His face.
He chose to wrap them in mercy and grace.
He died for the one that His name denied,
And in His mercy another name supplied.|
He died for the sinners on both sides of His cross.
One accepted His gift the other remained lost.
He died for harlots that cry on the streets.
He died for the one that chose to lie at His feet.
He died for those that push wisdom out the door;
But then later choose again to follow the Lord.
From the beginning of time and man’s introduction to sin,
The God of Heaven made provision for them.
But there are some that refuse to see,
They harden their heart to not believe.
But the truth is still the truth; for every man Jesus died.
He is and was and ever will be their supply.
But still there are those that would spit on and slap God’s face.
There are still those that reject His mercy and grace.
Still  some choose evil over the way good and right.
Many still choose darkness over light.
But there is no hatred in God’s heart for them.
He loves the sinner but He will always hate sin.

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Prepare By Brenda Drake

I have started on a path I thought I was prepared to travel but when obstacles came I became confused if I was going in the right direction.   When we follow after God we need to be prepared to stop or continue on as we trust the leading of God. I am slowly learning not to be blown away by adverse circumstances.  As I spend time in God’s Word I know He is faithful to help me through whatever I need to face.

Prepared

Be prepared, help comes from above.
Great is God’s provisions; watch for His love.
How are you to prepare you ask?
Look ahead and do not look back.
Set your face to reach your goal;
Know and trust God is of your life in control.
Forgive daily; every offence shed,
With a song of praise, forge on ahead.
Clear your heart and cleanse your mind.
Leave all preconceived ideas behind.
The air becomes foggy with the smoke of unfulfilled desire;
Throw them away into God’s eternal fire.
Allow new revelations to surface at each new days start.
With God’s assurance and proof He dwells in your heart.
Be prepared to hear the still voice within,
With full evidence the wisdom comes from Him.
Walk forward with purpose in your step.
Knowing with full confidence He is not finished with you yet.
Much lie ahead you are not yet able to see;
But to be fully prepared you must trust God is leading thee.

Ephesians 6:14-18
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Joy Needs Never to Flee By Brenda Drake

The joy of the Lord is my strength.  My God is strong in me even when I am puny. When I feel ineffective and useless I need to get my eyes back on the One that hears every prayer and provides for everything I need.  I am strengthened when I remember the wonderful promises in God’s Word concerning those that belong to Christ.

Joy Needs Never to Flee

There never needs to be a time, when joy flees out of sight.
Keep God in mind, and in Him you find delight.
Troubles come and trials are faced, but when you remember God’s there;
Fear, doubts, and worry are replaced with the joy that He with you shares.
The day may be dark all around, but in the light of love.
You walk on higher ground, with and in the joyful presence of God above.
With your eyes on the goal ahead, with a joyful step make your way.
For when you are by the Spirit led, there is sunshine in your day.
Joy walks with and ahead of you; with strength that overflows.
Joy leads and guides you through, wherever you need to go.
Rejoice in the Lord all the time, again I say rejoice.
Lift up Jesus name and find, joy is shared by the sound of your voice/

Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Why Can They Not See? By Brenda Drake

There is good and there is evil. There is only one that we choose as our master.  When Jesus is Master we need to follow in His footsteps.  There should be a clear picture of who we belong too.  We wonder why people do not see Jesus; perhaps it is because we cannot see how we are portraying Him.

Why Can They Not See?

Why do My children quarrel, grumble, and complain?
Do they not realize they bring dishonor to their claim?
Why do they get hurt so easily; their feelings all tender and sore?
Do they believe they are not to die-to-self anymore?
Why are hearts hard, with built up walls of mistrust?
Why can they not see they defeat the way of the just?
Why do they pick apart instead of building each other up high?
They do not see they tear themselves apart to become dead and dry.
Love one another, is My command; as you love your own soul.
Put away the warring tools of the devil: you must let them go.
Throw unpleasant and the jealous spirits aside.
Sing a joyful song and with harmony abide.
Place others first and you will see,
That you behave the way God intend you to be.

Romans 6:13
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Carry On By Brenda Drake

`           Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  This poem tells us much the same Godly advice.  Do not cave in, do not stop; trust the help of the One that kept on the path to finish His good work in our behalf on the cross.  Whatever comes we must set our face and our heart to carry on, to finish the work set before us; with His help we are victorious!

Carry On

Carry on warriors; battles rage day and night;
If you persevere, the enemy takes flight.
Carry on child, great strength is on your knees.
Pray the Word; praise and trust wins you victories.
Carry on weary traveler that walks the harsh land below.
Tell others of the Savior that died to save their soul.
Carry on – continue the work you have begun,
That gives glory and honor to your Savior, God’s Son.
Do not tarry, ready yourselves for the Bride Grooms returns.
Know overcomers a great honor earns.
Carry on watchmen, tell others what you see.
Give them the warnings I give to thee.
Carry on all who listen, the Word tells you the same.
For all that continues, receives a new name.
All that overcome in the trials of life shall see;
The great arrival of Jesus, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings
All that carry on shall not be alone any more
For the One that is and was, will be with you forever more

Revelations 3:21
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

John 15:7-9
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

When the Heart Stops By Brenda Drake

            The joy of the Lord is my strength; my life is full, and holds promise and purpose.  However I remember clearly when I felt dead, dark, and weak.  I found little satisfaction in my life.  I still have difficult times but I am led by the Holy Spirit and my heart is able to soar with the hope of the promise of new life in each day’s start.

When the Heart Stops

When the heart stops there is certain death.
Life as you know it no longer can you expect.
Many have already given up in life;
Their heart still ticks but something just is not right.
The heart has no hope and joy has fled.
They cannot bear to look back and do not desire to look ahead.
Hearts throb with the dull beat of despair;
In a world dark with broken dreams and things unfair.
When the heart of hope stops…death makes its claim.
There is one remedy; it rests in Jesus’ name.
Jesus is Life, The Truth and The Way.
Place your hope in Him – He is the Word for your day.
Because of Jesus and all He has done,
There is victory ….the battle is already won!
Despair is very wretched and should never be.
Trust Jesus; depression’s dark existence will not overtake thee.
Then when the heart truly stops beating and you walk on the other side,
Joy continues for the “Heartbeat of Heaven” forever within you abides.

John 14:6;
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
 unto the Father, but by me.

John 5:25-26
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself
