Under the Blood By Brenda Drake

I saw an illustration of the importance of the sacrifice of Jesus in our behalf that made it clear my great need for a Savior.  God the Father hates sin, and the penalty of sin is death.  When Jesus died and rose up from the grave He conquered the threat of death and its eternal promise of separation from our Creator. Jesus paid our sin-debt so we could live forever with them (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).  When our heavenly Father looks at us under the covering of the blood of Jesus He sees Jesus not our sin. Under the blood we are One with God.

Under the Blood

Life under the blood of Christ,
Not only protects it promises new life.
New life has a fresh start;
The seed of rebirth enters the heart.
Just like a new baby born needs extra care;
Nourished with good food, love and prayer;
The loving Father in heaven carefully,
Watches our growth-progress and sees.
That each step takes to the place,
Destined by the One that has shown such grace.
Life under the blood of Christ,
When nourished by the Word that feeds you right.
The Holy Spirit, Comforter of heart, mind and soul,
Leads to safety, and helps to strong and healthy grow.
Multitudes of angels are close at hand,
To assist as the Father so commands.
Life under the blood covering of Christ is blessed,
Assurance, faith, and trust plans and expects for your best.
New strength is supplied in each day’s gift sent.
All that is needed is to praise, pray and sins repent.
Faith flows free in worship under loves flow,
Life new prospers forever when God is in control.

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Romans 3:24-25
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Life is in the Blood By Brenda Drake

In crime stories it shows how people try to wash away the evidence of a murder but under certain light it is clearly revealed.  Jesus shed His blood to pay for our sin. It makes me feel very secure knowing God the Father sees us under the Holy blood of Jesus. There is power and new life in the blood of Jesus.

Life is in the Blood

Life is in the blood. Its mark over the door protects,
Its assurance assured life over death.
Life is in the blood; its cry is heard and seen clear.
Trust under the blood fear disappears.
Life is in the blood; under Jesus’ sacrifice placed,
Is promised new life provided by grace.
Christ’ blood covering is holy; all who believe,
Its life-saving strength receives.
Greater is the truth of blood than many understand.
The blood of the innocent soaks up the land.
It cries out to heaven for justice to come.
It too sounds loud in the ears of the Holy One.
God in His mercy sent Jesus to set free.
His sacrifice suffered greatly to rescue from death’s penalty.
Life is in the blood; come under its holy cover.
You will its eternal saving strength discover.

Exodus 12:13
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Hebrews 9:14-15
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

With Heart in Hand By Brenda Drake

All we really have to offer is our life.  Our offering is our reasonable service.  Our Lord has given us His life by His sacrifice in our behalf.  Sometimes with heart in hand we make our offering in our prayer of dedication again and again.

With Heart in Hand

With heart in hand I set my face;
As I seek to rest in God’s embrace.
The world’s turmoil and upsetting ways;
Cannot steal away my words of praise.
All faults and failures are laid down at His feet to stay.
His robe of righteousness is upon me placed,
With heart in hand I give my life to Him,
To form, to shape, and to mend.
He is my heart’s desire,
He sets it on holy fire.
He reads every inscription written inside.
He is the holy resident who within abides.
I will continue on this journey of the heart;
With Him at each days end and at each days start.
Every moment has its heart-beat and when my journey ends,
I will have arrived into His presence to a new journey begin.
With heart in hand again I say, Lord here I am
Help my life to fit perfectly into Your master plan.

Romans12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Double Duty By Brenda Drake

I am amazed at the wisdom of God and the wonder of His ways.  Our prayer for assistance, alongside our thanks and praise for God’s answer is counted as faith.

Double Duty

When prayer asks and declares at the same time,
It is doing double duty as God designs.
Humility bows low as it confidently reaches for God’s hand.
Humbleness is strong as on God’s Word it stands.
Thanks and praise in double duty move,
With grateful hearts they in union lift up in God’s name too.
Faith and hope are a team that few understand,
When practiced you become stronger along with your fellow man.
Joy and peace also are a team too,
They are gifts of love bestowed on you.
They are on double duty just as the rest.
Your spirit and other around you find benefit.
You are learning to walk and talk like Christ;
Living victorious in sacrifice.
Even in trouble and trial you will find,
They are doing double duty time.
Trouble and trials are because of a world of sin.
They are always present although they are not called friend.
When in their grasp in faith come,
They too must bow at the name of Gods Son.
Ask for assistance and declare them gone at the same time.
Prayers are on double duty because you are loved and you are mine.

John 14:13
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Psalms 40:8
I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart;
I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation:

Come Soar With Me By Brenda Drake

We get so busy in our everyday life almost before we realize it we are piled high with the many things that cause heaviness within.   Jesus is always available to lift our load as we lift up our prayer requests. This poem invites us to share every concern with Him. He promises to not only listen to us but to answer with His assurance, comfort, and joy.

Come Soar with Me

Soar with me over obstacles in the way.
You are lifted over them when you pray.
The dream that illusively seems out of reach,
The answer to the question you refuse to speak,
The doubt and even the fears,
That clouds thoughts with unshed tears;
Come let us examine these things.
Bring them one by one to Christ the King.
Your vision inspired by God above;
Are delivered on His wings of love.
The accusations that taunt sure failure within,
Bring them too; they are answered by Him.
With God on your side and with His rule within,
Is there a chance of failure my friend?
With joy, peace and salvations sure hold,
How is it possible you do not walk on streets of gold?
How could the bride of heaven with garments pure in Christ,
Not be comforted by the joy of God’s presence in their life.
Soar with the lover of your heart and soul;
Rest confident in His sure hold.

Psalms 27:5
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion:
in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me;
he shall set me up upon a rock.

Get Me Back on Track By Brenda Drake

      These are troubling times. There seems to be a great confusion of what is right and what is wrong. Our core values and convictions have been challenged and at times the world’s influences cause us to stray from what we know is right and to almost wink at what we know as sin.  This is when we need to reevaluate our lives.  Perhaps we as a Country are in the position of rethinking and cementing within to agree with God and not the message of the world system.

His way…Ps 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Get Me Back on Track

I present my words and actions to God above
My offered life proves my love.
Lord I need to wise to see,
Where it is I need to be.
When I have been distracted or followed my own path.
I need help to get back on track.
Show me when it is better not to insist I am right;
And when to know when I need to stand up and fight.
Teach me when to pull away from unwanted and unneeded stress,
And to know when to confront an issue is best.
Jesus, you see my heart cry to clear direction know,
I trust it all to You; I know You are in control.
I love you Jesus and I choose to love my brother too.
Jesus, help us to truly love one another as we follow after You.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Heart Throb of God By Brenda Drake

Have you more and more noticed a change in your thinking?  What was acceptable becomes detestable?  What was ignored is no longer able to be tolerated?  What seemed of utmost importance now is recognized of very little eternal value.  Now it is becoming very clear the things that are of most importance to our Heavenly Father.  If so you are feeling and becoming the heart throb of God.

Heart Throb of God

In the deepest place where the heart throbs;
In the essence of your being there is found God.
The very seed of existence; planted deep within,
All of you that exists belongs to Him.
Each breath has value; if but all men would know,
The high price paid for every soul.
Eternity measures each step in life’s path.
The all seeing eyes of God know right where you are at.
Love’s loving had reaches out each day,
To restore what evil has stolen away.
Look up, look about, search deep within,
Seek, learn, and listen; place all your hope in Him.
The Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, all three in One,
Work in perfect harmony to get the work done.
Nothing on earth exists without Christ.
Jesus is Truth, The Way, and Life.
On earth and in heaven is the same;
All life is found in Jesus’ name.
When you allow the work of the cross you will find,
Every part of your being is with God aligned.
With heart, mind and soul in accord,
Your whole being becomes a heart throb for the Lord.

Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me.

Proverbs 3:1-2
My son, forget not my law;
but let thine heart keep my commandments:
 For length of days, and long life,
and peace, shall they add to thee.

Individuals But Joined With Jesus

We all have opinions. We see through eyes influenced by our environment and upbringing. When influenced by the Word of God we find there is much more unity in our church and in our relationships.  When we adjust our thinking with love and respect for others we will have more peace in our land.

Individual; But Joined With Jesus

An individual in the church; because, no one is the same.
Although all are different they are joined by Jesus’ name.
Rich and poor worship together side by side.
The confidant and the insecure in the Lord abide.
The meek and quiet spirit touches shoulders with the loud and bold.
Their prayers are heard, both of them are by God known.
If one sees in another something that is to them a shame;
All wrong should by covered by love in Jesus’ name.
When differences arise that causes disharmony or discord,
All should be put aside in honor of their Lord.
Not only should disagreements be put away,
Sometimes the fault finder needs to watch what they say.
For the thing one sees as sin, is like the speck in another’s eye, do you hear?
Sometimes the one that finds the fault needs their own vision cleared.
Be careful chosen to not becomes self-righteous, and commit even a worse sin
For even God overlooks the outward and looks deep within

Psalms 133:1
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Ephesians 4:1-4
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

Acts 10:34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Be As a Fountain By Brenda Drake

One of the most wonderful things I experienced after Jesus became my Savior was a flushing, rushing feeling of a mighty river flowing inside of me.  It lasted for quite a long time.  I longed for it to continue forever.  Perhaps it still is bubbling through me and I no longer am able to feel it.  By faith I believe it is still roaring with the presence of my Lord within me.

Be as a Fountain

There is a fountain that bubbles inside deep,
It flows as a river to the Saviors feet.
Gather together if you will,
To allow the Spirit to infill.
The cup of pleasure tastes sweeter than wine,
As you come to my table to dine.
I will wash over you with my presence, wrong is no more.
You are as pure and as clean as the risen Lord.
As you bow down at the alter placed at my feet,
I accept your offering and administer peace.
I will pour good inside to insure you remain strong,
So you are able to cope, victorious in a world gone wrong.
I help you lead another to the fountain of life,
As you become an ambassador for Christ.
Becoming a flowing stream to quench the thirst of another lost soul
A child of the living God, that from God’s fountain flows.

John 7:38
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Finished to Perfection By Brenda Drake

When you begin to feel shabby and of little consequence, remember who you are now in Christ.  Believe me, it is anything but shabby we are beautiful and of great value to our Lord.   As we study the Word we get a glimpse of the great commission to share the Good News with others.

Finished to Perfection

Finished to perfection,
Filled with the light of holy conviction,
Moved to royalty; to the most honored place,
All provided by God’s amazing grace.
Lovely to behold, bought at a great price,
Paid for by Jesus’ sacrifice.
The temple is readied; it is filled with great light,
Causing the Lord great pleasure and delight.
The days are numbered.  Heavens residents are prepared,
To welcome in joy to with them share.
There is a remnant positioned to cause a stir,
Spreading the good news; speaking forth God’s Word.
At war; with a prayer on the lips, armor in place, sword drawn,
And with eyes opened to follow the One they depend on.
Surely you will be in the number of the holy procession,
Of the army of the chosen finished to perfection.

 2 Corinthians 5: 17-18
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
