Prayer for Life for our Country By Brenda Drake

It is not time for us to give up our freedom.  We need to remember our forefather’s faith and desire for a nation that trusts in God.  As a whole we as a nation have embraced doctrines of devils.  We have laws that blatantly thumb the nose at the Bible and its principles.  How do we fight to keep our Country?  Repent, pray, and make a stand for what you believe before it is too late.

Prayer for Life for our Country

Father, tear down walls of division, turn our Country back again.
Show the light of truth and reveal and open eyes to hidden sins.
Direct our step give us a clear path to victory.
As we fight our battles on our heart’s knees.
As the days ahead unfold its secrets give strength to carry on.
Let us remember the foundation our life is built upon.
Lift up our hearts in faith see and to understand,
That truly we are held in Your hand.
Let us recall the days of innocence when in freedom we could sing,
An anthem of praise; in allegiance to our Country, and to Jesus our King.
Allow us now Lord to inspect our hearts and agree,
We have sinned against your Word…Lord, hear our repentant plea.
Heal our land my Lord and help us to again be strong;
Ready to do what is needed and to turn away from wrong.
We will look up to where our help come,
We pray in Jesus name Thy will on earth as it is in heaven be done.

2 Chronicles 7:13
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

From Where does my Help Come? By Brenda Drake

Look up to the God that fights our battle.  I choose to praise the Lord for His victory.  He is the One that speaks to our troubled sea…Peace be still.

From Where does my Help Come?

From where does my help come from?
I look to God above He is the One.
In the battle what need I do?
I will in faith turn my eyes to You.
When the world taunts, shows its strength,
I go to the healing waters of God and take a healthy drink.
I will remember how the  walls or Jericho was pushed down.
By the power of praise, supernatural strength was found.
I will remember how the Egyptian army was enticed to give chase,
And was swallowed up in the once held back sea’s embrace.
I will remember how the enemy rejoiced at the death of Christ.
How the Father revealed its victory in our new life.
From where does our help come?  Hear this word of rhyme.
The Lord says, do not despair, give praise for the battle is mine.

Psalms 121:1-2
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
 My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth.

Mark 4:39
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

Pick Up, Lift Up and Lay Them Down By Brenda Drake

In our disturbed world there is ample opportunity to become overcome with worry, fear, and hopelessness. There is hope for the troubled soul.  Every heartache, heavy burden, circumstance, and disquieting thought we can lift up in prayer, and lay them at Jesus feet.  He is able to handle it much better than we can.

Pick Up, Lift Up and Lay them Down

Pick it up and then lay it down,
Bring every situation in your life to higher ground.
Every heartache, heavy burden and disquieting thought that makes a stand,
And every circumstance that invades your land,
Pick them up and lift them up to the One that hears and answers prayer;
Then lay them down at His feet and leave them there.
When the pain of them again come to mind;
Repeat the instructions yet another time.
When you do this with faith within,
The sun will shine bright inside of you again.
Pick up, lift up, and lay them down,
Turn away from them and walk on higher ground.
Your inner strength and inner convictions are infused with trust and faith,
That the One you love and serve does not hesitate.
Jesus is able to carry all your woes with ease each day.
Great is the victory when you live this way.
Placing in your mind things good and true,
Enjoying the blessings all around you.

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Mathew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Broken Heart Come Back By Brenda Drake

God is for us, not against us.  I believe this as a follower of Jesus and for a Country that places God first.  When we as a Country have placed our own ideas and convictions above the Word of God, it is as disobedient as the strong-willed disobedient child. When correction is administered by the loving parent the broken heart is encouraged to return to the loving arms of the forgiving moms or fathers loving embrace.  It is also even more so by the most loving God that died to pay for and to ensure forgiveness for our sins.

Broken Heart Come Back

Your heart is breaking; it is very heavy in your chest.
You walked the way you should not; you followed the leading of the flesh.
The road though very colorful is not the way that is right to go.
It seems to promise good things but as you know,
The way of disobedience is not by Him blessed.
There is only one way out of your troubles, repent and your sins confess.
Admit you are a sinner and that you have been led astray,
Set you mind on Jesus and prepare to His Word obey.
Oh the sweetness of grace – taste it once again;
Take it, and make it the place to again begin.
Crucify the flesh… from the devil flee.
Put your trust in Jesus and His strength will set you free.
Only after true repentance are you allowed under God’s safe cover:
Completely forgiven and restored and with your God a lover.

I John 1:8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The Struggle; the Battle By Brenda Drake

Many times I am sorry to testify I’ve allowed flesh to have its way.  Perhaps it’s only a burst of anger permitted to speak its venom or by my silence or disobedience I have dishonored my Lord.  But He is so faithful, always urging me confess my sins and to repent of my evil ways. At one of these times I received this poem that helped me through a time of struggle to go into battle.

The Struggle; the Battle

Unsettled, tossed about in the mind;
Hanging on tight to what you must leave behind.
There is a struggle – the flesh desires are strong;
That fights against the place God says belongs.
Wanton in nature – pleasure seeking is its quest.
Fighting against what God says is best.
God loves with a passion you cannot comprehend.
He sees the great struggle deep within.
Not seeking evil; you fight against evil every day.
The self will must be crucified to live God’s way.
Every man has a battle they struggle with within.
It will continue until Jesus comes for them.
But look up with confidence for your help is not off afar;
For, God is with you right where you are.
He loves you through your trying times;
God says, I am your God and you are mine,
You will never be far away from my perfect will;
When you come to me daily to be refilled.

Psalms 9:9-10
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought the obedience of Christ;  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Deuteronomy 20:4
For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

The Plan By Brenda Drake

My new life was on the sweet path of prayer, and then I became aware of the terrible struggle of the flesh.  What a fight was on the path ahead.  My battle of flesh is not yet won; but  I have grown in many areas.  I am not finished yet!  The Lord continues to help me every day as I study the Word, listen to wise teachers, and heed the council of the Holy Spirit within.

The Plan

The plan is not difficult and yet you will find,
You will have difficulty keeping it in mind;
For old habits are hard to break.
Some extra effort it will take.
The plan is simple as one, two, three.
It is liberating to the soul and sets from worry free.
Number one – Ask God to guide your day,
And believe He hears the words you pray.
Leave it alone – let it rest,
And know He turns it out for your best.
This step will bring peace to your life;
So you can enjoy the life offered to Christ.
Number two –Become as a living sacrifice to Him you love so much;
Because of His sacrifice you are able to perceive His love.
You are a well-pleasing sacrifice offered to die for the King
This step causes your heart to sing.
Number Three – Offer yourself that died to now live to glorify Him;
His work through you shall now begin.
This step will fulfill and cause joy to flow;
Not only to you but through you… from soul to soul.
I said it is easy but you must struggle against flesh,
To enter in God’s way to rest
 You are able if you ask for God’s help; this too
Is the last step – Know your God answers you!

I John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Share Your Light By Brenda Drake

One time as a very young Christian; I wrote a letter to someone sharing all that the Lord had done in my life.   I received back a chastising letter telling me that these things should be a private matter, and something I needed to keep to myself.  Even as a baby Christian I knew that this was not the best advice.  I do not know if she was saved when she died, but if she did ask Jesus into her life she indeed kept it to herself.

Share Your Light

The world does not need an under-the-bushel kind of love.
It needs the reaches-out-kind to show God’s love.
I need the one that will look about,
With eyes focused and ears tuned to help.
There are many as a babe needing to be spoon-fed;
Afraid to go out and do as led.
Feed my sheep, clothe the poor.
I ask you to testify for the Lord
Some timidly speak – if they speak at all.
They hide their love as under the bushel they fall.
If you need boldness to do as asked,
Come and get the needed strength you lack.
I give you the faith to speak,
The words I desire for you to seek.
I give the wisdom you need to know,
And I will support you when your faith is low.
I will show what you need to do.
And I equip to follow through.
The very best hidden-kind-of love is not as good,
As the very weakest light set high as it should.
So shine your light so the world can see,
The plan of Salvation Jesus offers to set them free.

Matthew 5:14-16
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The Wonder of it All By Brenda Drake

Is there a greater story to tell?  Is there a more beautiful love story?  Is there a greater goal to reach?  When we stop to think about it there is nothing as important… The wonder of it all!

The Wonder of it All

The wonder of it all is more than we can know;
The One that made the world knows every soul.
He loves with a never-ending desire,
To warm every heart with His love’s fire.
His love is respectful; it will not force us to serve.
He lovingly directs us with the wooing of the Word.
This love leads and guides us to Salvation’s plan.
Then, makes us new and writes our name on His hand.
Angels are assigned to each child born anew,
As the Holy Spirit inside them moves.
Love jealously watches over those that are in Jesus alive;
Those who are prepared to be His bride.
Just like their Savior, they die to self-will,
To the Heavenly Father’s plan fulfill.
They are ready, willing and able, because of His ability within,
To carry forth the Good News; to draw others to Him.
There are givers and takers, God is glorified each day.
The wonder of it all is Love planned it all that way.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 3:1-3
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Night Time Instructions By Brenda Drake

      I have found the answer to many situations deposited into my being after a night’s sleep. What was impossibility is now feasible. Heavy loads have been supernaturally lifted, and peace and joy have returned by the work of Holy Spirit. There are times when I find answers to a dilemma I did not even know existed while asleep.  God seeks always to help us and if we are too busy to listen in the day hours He has no problem meeting with us when we are asleep.

Night Time Instructions

During the night sometimes God’s children hear;
When they are quiet and yielded, and not filled with fears.
Then the preconceived ideas are laid to rest,
Sometimes this is when they can hear the best.
The day’s problems are not lifted as high.
And the circumstance’s hold are forgotten or denied.
The memories of past mistakes are also lifted a bit;
When the heart yearns for God’s touch and listens for it.
Filled with wonder – the mortal man more spiritual becomes.
Precious are those that heed instructions on how to get God’s work done.
Such a pleasure they will find as they truly seek:
Much more rested and of more benefit than if they soundly sleep.

Psalms 16:7
I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

Psalms 92:1-2  It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

Access, Assurance, Acceptance, and Acknowledgment By Brenda Drake

Salvation is the greatest gift I have ever received.  I am proud to tell the world I am a born again believer.  It is my pleasure sharing the Good News with all I meet.  I am free to serve the One I adore, by serving the ones He died to save from sin’s trap.

Access, Assurance, Acceptance, and Acknowledgment

I ignorantly was walking toward what I could not see;
A forever separation from whatever was good for eternity.
When truth was brought before my bewildered eyes,
My precarious situation was recognized.
As fear quaked the foundation of my life,
I was introduced to the provision of Jesus Christ.
He brought me to the place,
Where, I had access to His amazing grace.
He assured me; He had me in mind the day,
He died, to my debt of sin pay.
At His invitation, I grasped on with delight.
He accepted me into His glorious light.
Fear was replaced with hope and peace within.
My blinded eyes were opened.
The once sure damnation of my soul,
Is now forever canceled.
The joy of salvation, is a endless song my heart sings,
As an anthem of praise, to Jesus my King.
He acknowledges me as His each and every day
I wish to also acknowledge Him in all I do, think, and say.

Colossians 2:2-3
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;  In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Prayer
Thank You, thank You, thank You; is all my grateful heart sings.  Help me be a witness to the good work You do within.
