Priceless Value Left Unknown By Brenda Drake

Priceless Value Left Unknown

Good mothers are priceless their value left unknown.
Gathered thoughts around the world attest their own,
Is the very best mother; no one else compares,
Most would say no one is better than theirs.
Mothers tackle the job with gusto, trying their very best,
To care for their tiny individual; with very little rest.
They practice being mom each and every day;
Learning by their mistakes made along the way.
Kisses to make things better, dirty clothes gathered from the floor,
Food prepared and placed on the table, and with help from the Lord,
Mothers become your best cheerleader that encourages your to do.
When you grow older she is your best friend too.
You tell her your problems understanding how much she cares,
And also knowing a wise mother lifts you up in prayer.
Even if you mother is no longer in your midst, she is still alive.
For a good mom’s memory stays safe inside.
Remember her on this day set aside for her glory,
As you remember share with another her story.

Proverbs 31:28-29
Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all’

As a Flowing Stream By Brenda Drake

I know what it felt like when I was lost and thirsty for the truth. I was dry unfruitful and very unsatisfied with life.  Now that I am filled with God’s Word, it feels like rivers of living-water flowing within me. I love to share the good news of God’s Word with others.

As a Flowing Stream

Streams of water flow down a hill
To another waterway fill.
The river flows on to another place,
Soaking parched soil along the banks.
On and on it distributes its life-giving flow;
So the grass, flowers, and trees are able to grow.

This also is true of God’s care from above.
He flows into your life a river of His love.
Come to the banks of His goodness and drink some more,
Of the sweet-waters provided by your Lord.
Just as rivers flows onward, so must you my friend.
Continue to show others the way to Him.
To be one with God and to flow His way;
Drink-in God’s Word and its precepts obey
The more you consume, your flowing stream overflows
To share with others the truths you know

John 7:38
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Proverbs 18:4
The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

Isaiah 58:11
And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

The Butterfly By Brenda Drake

I caught glimpses of the truth of salvation a few times before I finally grasped unto its beauty. It is a little fearful to think it could have been lost to me.  I praise God He is persistent in His love toward us.

The Butterfly

Like a pretty butterfly flies across the path of your life,
Constantly landing within your sight,
Its beauty is admired; you love its grace you see;
But, unless you follow after it, it slips away from thee.
The words of the Savior, the truth of His love for man,
Is like the butterfly, do you understand?
When you hear the story, you wonder at the beauty and the grace.
But, unless you follow after it, it has been to you a waste.
It is shown to the multitudes and its beauty they behold and admire,
But still they let it fly away: God’s answer to their greatest desires.
They have let the beautiful butterfly disappear.
Pray they learn to follow, and catch its truth within, the next time it is near.

Mark 8:18
Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

Proverbs 3:13
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

The Day After By Brenda Drake

The day after

The day after the resurrection I wonder what it was like?
After a once broken heart was visited by God’s healing light?
I wonder did they dance and sing the next day still,
Because of the joy that their heart filled?
Did people prepare feasts and gather to rejoice?
The day after, they again heard their Savior’s voice?
I wonder how it could not be?
Surely, in wonder and awe, the day after was precious indeed.

Now we celebrate the wonderful event of long ago,
When our life was forever freed from death’s hold.
We rejoice our Lord and Savior spoke in our hearts new,
And marvel, He is alive not in the empty tomb!
Has the beautiful message of the resurrection of Christ,
To have only one special day set aside?
What do we do the day after the day,
Of celebration; surly the beautiful truth with us stay?.
He not only is alive He in health reigns above.
He also reigns within the hearts of all those He is a part of.

John 11:25
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Springtime in my Soul By Brenda Drake

Springtime in my Soul By Brenda Drake

Easter-time is like springtime – everything starts new again
The air smells fresh and sweet; and new life begins.
Birds sing it seems without tire.
Trees are clothed beautifully, as the sun warms its fire.
The world has new freshness it seems in Spring;
As all creation bows before the King.
Easter-time is like springtime in my soul.
Since I met Jesus, I am new and whole
Because of His sacrifice for me,
Now my heart is able to sing.
I am warmed by His love and clothed with righteousness,
Because, of His victory over death.
“He is risen! He is risen!  He is alive,” I can shout.
He has forgiven me and has cast my shame out.
I stand before Him with faith in my eyes,
No longer disgraced and despised.
I am new and fresh, because of His love and care,
The Easter-time message with another I am able to share

Song 2:11-12
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

Celebrate! By Brenda Drake

The tomb emptied so our hearts can be filled.

Celebrate!

Great -day! Wondrous revelations are understood,
He has risen: He that died on the piece of wood.
The tomb was empty; it just held the rags that bound.
No other evidence within was found
Sweet joy still floods the heart when this miracle is comprehended;
The truth dawns that the battle fought has ended.
Taste your victory; your triumph over sin and shame
All accomplished by Jesus’ name
He has risen! Let your voice sing loud and clear,
Loud enough the world can its message hear.
Clap your hands and dance, rejoice you now perceive,
All that your Lord accomplished on the cross for thee.
Let the joy and peace of God flood your soul.
Allow His love to enter and to within you overflow.

Psalms 9:2
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

John 16:22
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

He is Alive By Brenda Drake

He is Alive

She went to the borrowed tomb with heavy heart and mind
With the purpose to her dead Master to find.
She heard the angel say; He was not there,
“He is risen” was with her shared
Still she tried to find Him with blinded eyes,
She asked; a supposed gardener, (who was the Master disguised)
Where was He taken? She inquired again.
But, when He said her name…She recognized Him!
No one could say “Mary” with such love, as her Lord.
No one could ever fool her anymore.
She knew His voice: she was fully aware,
That her Lord was not dead; it was Him, standing there.
Even though she searched for the dead, what she found that day,
Was He was truth, life and the way!
Now, redeemed man is able to celebrate and rejoice,
They too, are certain, to clearly hear His voice.
He still calls His own by name.
He is no longer dead – He alive remains.
Rejoice… rejoice! He is risen is the song we sing.
He is alive! He that is alive, new life brings.
Look up, for He soon returns in like-manner as He ascended.
His reign on earth begins; when His preparations in heaven is ended.

Matthew 28:5-6
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen,

Jewel Thought By Brenda Drake

The world has so many distractions, problems, worries, fears, and heartaches that bombard our everyday life.  We need to make an effort to look up to the One who will help us through them all.  I am convinced when we purpose our mind to think “jewel thoughts” our day will shine brighter too.  As we seek His face, we will find His joy fills our mind and heart with His precious peace.

Jewel Thoughts

What am I able to do help? What good word am I able to say?
How can I make things better for another today?
The sky has such lovely colors…Oh, look at the clouds so fluffy and white.
I yearn to pleasure God… to shine on earth His light.
I want to sing that good song I heard that sounded so sweet.
To serve like Martha and also I desire to sit like Mary at Jesus’ feet.
Lord, help me always be willing to Your goodness proclaim.
I wonder what I will do when Jesus calls my name.
I enjoy the feel of the sunshine upon my back.
I love that Jesus the Son of God has provided all I lack.
I so desire to bring honor to Him I adore,
As I walk in faith, thinking good thoughts, patiently waiting for my Lord.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Flowing Waters By Brenda Drake

Flowing Waters

When the ground is parched and it moisture needs
Flowing water is a welcome sight to see.
Water brings abundance to the lifeless place.
New life rises up from the dry place.
Flower’s spring forth; aroma fills the air;
Singing birds dwell in the foliage growing there.
As this is, a soul is; when they are dry within,
Living Water of God makes it live again.
Joy is delivered; God’s goodness abounds,
When, His life-giving moisture touches dry ground.
The life of the thirsting-man is made whole.
The desirous are thankful when brought to the river’s flow.
Springs of joy cause the bloom of praise inside;
Peace fills the air where the Lord abides.
God’s love the redeemed wish to share;
His beauty is yet to be compared.
Come, to the water drink some more,
Drink freely of the provision provided by the Lord

Psalms 63:1-5
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

A Son That Serves By Brenda Drake

It is easier to picture ourselves as a servant to Christ than it is to imagine that we are actually now sons and daughters of the Creator of the Universe and beyond.  Our inheritance is more than our minds can grasp and so much more than we could ever deserve.

A Son That Serves

As you accept the call to service – you align with God’s plan.
You are entering a Blessed and Holy land.
When you humble yourself to do God’s will;
You have placed yourself in service to His mission fulfill.
You agreed to be ruled by the labor of love;
A willing servant of God above.
In turn you are placed at His side;
When life’s battle is over with Him you forever abide.
God’s love is forever, your earthly service is put to rest;
Shared with you is all possessed.
The Angels rejoice at what they see done;
As servant is raised to be with God as one.
All creation strains to share in the rejoicing as they behold man,
In the honorable place the Father has planned.
Each are marked as His and it is seen plain,
That though they come in service, Sons they forever remain.

Isaiah 1:19
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,even to them that believe on his name:

I John 3:1-3
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not

I John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
