Love Builds a Bridge

We were hopelessly lost with no way to pay the debt of our sin. Jesus provided the bridge of Salvation for us to be able to be a forever part of His love.

Love Builds a Bridge

Love builds a bridge over the muddy place,
Love seeks to extend mercy and grace.
Love leads to higher ground,
It will not-it refuses to push or put down.
Bridge-building love extends a helping hand;
Setting to work to mend, and heal the best way it can.
Love walks the extra mile it takes for success,
Love bows low to at God’s feet rest.
Bridges of love needs mending at times.
When your love gets prickly and hard to define,
Come to the One that builds love strong again.
Come to Jesus the Master-Builder, rely on Him.
He is the restorer of the breach, His divine touch restores.
The needed wisdom is found in Christ the Lord.
When two or more agree together in prayer,
The One who knows and hears all is there.
God is love and Jesus is love’s way.
He is the Good News of Salvation portrayed.
If you belong to Christ and you practice what you preach,
You will do what needs to be done to the lost soul reach.
You also become a bridge-builder to cause peace in the land.
As You love others as yourself and do as Jesus commands.
Love builds a bridge to lead the way,
To the other side where the Prince of Peace stays.

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Offering Accepted By Brenda Drake

Ephesians 1: 6-8
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

He provided for us every step of the way.  Even in our acceptance of His provision, He is our righteousness within. I offer my life to His service; knowing full well, He is the strength and ability inside.  His love and provision in my behalf, makes my offering holy and acceptable in the Father’s sight.

The Offering Accepted

The Holy offering; was sacrificed,
The Son of God offered His life.
He gave so you could receive,
Everything you ever would need.
In His gift; of sacrificial love.
You are forgiven, healed, and led to the Father above.
In His holy work on the cross you find,
The place of mercy and grace aligned.
The debt of sin is forever paid,
For the believing heart provision is made.
A forever bond is formed; never to end.
Jesus paid sin’s penalty for new life to begin.
His gift is free but the cost was greater than you can know.
Full acceptance is assured for every believing, receiving soul.
When you come in repentance and thanksgiving, all needed to do,
Is to offer the life that is now saved, to in God’s holy direction move.
All you say, all you think and all you do with Christ in mind,
Is an offering accepted, when with God’s will aligned.
Even, an apparent mistake or miss-step in your way of living,
When you repent, is an offering accepted; and you are forgiven.

1 Peter 2:5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood,
to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

A walk in the Garden By Brenda Drake

Isaiah 51:3
For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

This poem is an invitation to join our loving God in the sweet place of prayer that promises peace and joy for our soul.  I think it sounds so inviting; I yearn to go there now even as I speak.

A Walk in the Garden

Walk with me in the garden; where the birds sing,
An anthem of praise for the King.
Allow your heart to open up its door wide,
To allow the Son-shine deep inside.
In this place hope flowers and blooms in wild display.
Faith soars like an eagle in its majestic way.
The eyes of the heart are opened with great possibility.
What was hidden before is now clearly seen.
Come, my love, at any time of day.
I will gather you in arms of comfort, and will lift your spirit to praise.
Bring with you all the things you need to mend,
With full confidence your God attends.
Come, smell God’s goodness and feel the beauty of His smile.
Revel in the knowledge you His beloved child.
Take away His peace, His joy, and His love my friend.
Share with others and be sure to come back again,
As often as you desire to the garden with your King.

You will surely have a heart that sings.

Prayer
Father there is no place I would rather be.  I love the beautiful place of prayer, I love the sweet confidence and peace poured into my soul.  Thank You for providing such a lovely sanctuary for our soul.

Like a Butterfly By Brenda Drake

Like a Butterfly

Like a pretty butterfly flies across the path of your life
Constantly landing within your sight
Its beauty is admired, and you love its grace you see
But unless you follow after it, it slips away from thee
The words of the Savior, the truth about His love for man
Is like the butterfly, do you understand?
When you hear the story, you wonder at the beauty and the grace
But unless you follow after it, it has been to you a waste
It is shown to the multitudes and its beauty they behold and admire
But still they let it fly away, God’s answer to their greatest desires
They have let the beautiful butterfly disappear
I hope they learn to follow, and catch its truth within the next time it is near

Mark 8:18
Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

Proverbs 3:13
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

River in the Desert by Brenda Drake

River in the Desert

In the hard place, dry with need.
God provides water to germinate the seed.
There is a River that flows from above,
That floods the desert place with His love.
In bad situations where no solution in sight,
If you call on God He floods with His light.
The light of salvation causes the soul increase,
It flows into a life sweet inner peace.
A river in the desert with life anew;
Great and mighty, with harvest that will feed another too.
The bitter soil of an unforgiving heart,
Needs the healing waters that will cause increase to start.
Great is the return of profit from the restored place;
A wonderful haven of mercy in its embrace.
The River of Life has caused joy where once there was loss.
All a wonderful, holy work of Christ on the cross.
Come into His sweet healing flow,
To become a stream in the desert to another lost soul

Isaiah 35:6
Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

Isaiah 41:18
I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

Faith Speaks to the Wind By Brenda Drake

1 John 5:3
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith

Do you talk to yourself?  Do you speak to your mountains?  Does your faith stubbornly
refuse to shut up?  My answer is yes.

I tell myself who I am now in Christ.
I demand mountains of problem out of my sight.
I encourage and demand faith to speak to the wind.
As I place all my troubles at Jesus feet again.

Faith Speaks to the Wind

Faith watches for favor and speaks it to the wind.
Faith expects and is strengthened outside and within.
Faith climbs mountains high and hard with ease.
It soars like an eagle’s flight on heart’s knees

Faith allows the impossible to come to sight.
Faith, in the darkness shines magnificent and bright.
The negatives are no longer forefront in the mind;
Faith has left them far behind.
There is a faith left yet undiscovered,
Ready yourself, for its revelations to be uncovered.
A faith that not only, will mountains climb,
It removes them, and replaces them; with Gods design
Faith knows the One who loves them so much,
They watch for His favor…They expect His touch.
Faith is never disappointed for long,
For, the presence of hope and trust helps faith be strong.
Those faithful, trusts the One that marks their path
For, their hope and trust in His love, refuses to look back.

Prayer
Thank you Lord for the Word of God, I love the truth.  I stand on its promises. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Free to Fly By Brenda Drake

One of the very first Psalms that spoke loud to me was Psalms 91.  I love the way it speaks faith and comfort of my Father’s promised care and love.  This poem explains exactly how and why I love to cozy up with God in my secret place.

Free to Fly

Nesting under the wings of love secure and safe,
Born to flourish in a world tainted with sin and hate,
Soft thoughts calm heart, soul, and mind,
With a deep knowing you are with God aligned.
The winds and hard rains of life swirl around,
With loud, hurtful, threatening sounds.
But the voice you listen to speaks,
Songs of Salvation that instills sweet peace.
Under God’s wing you are nourished by the Word.
The more you eat the more growth occurs.
You are not always anxious to try your wings and fly,
For you are comfortably secure, safe and dry.
But there is something you need to see.
You are able to fly because I am inside of thee.
Never are you out of my shelter and out from my cover.
I am your world, your Savior, Father and soul lover.
You are free to fly as the Spirit gives you wing;
As you go know I give you a heart that sings.

Psalms 91:1-2
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;they shall mount up  with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Dip Into His Goodness By Brenda Drake

God hears and answers prayer. He leads and guides us to truth, and never tires of our interactions with Him.  It makes life a lot easier when we are at ease in His presence and know without a shadow of doubt, He is for us not against us.  We are able to call on His help day or night. He never will leave or forsake us.  I love to dip into His goodness in praise and prayer.

Dip Into His Goodness

Some have discovered how to receive,
They come often for all their needs.
They know great supply is always near,
They dip into God’s goodness without fear.
Some arrive just because they love the taste,
They love the goodness of His grace.
Sometimes they come into His presence for another;
To share a morsel with a sister or brother.
When they come for another often gifts are prepared for them;
Thrills of joy and blessed peace that flows within.
As they partake and share God’s goodness others believe,
They also can His help receive.
Come and dip into God’s great provision,
Spend some special time with Him.
Consume the Word and lift words of praise and prayer,
And of His great abundance is with you shared
There is no time unacceptable, and there is no time limit set.
You can come at any time and get as close as you desire to get.
Drink in God’s goodness, dip deep in the flow,
And you’ll be filled with love that overflows
Bathe in God’s presence and you will the truth see,
That it was always God’s intention: He planned it to be.

Psalms 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is
the man that trusteth in him.
