Insensitive or Sensitive By Brenda Drake

Oh, if only we would truly grasp the law of seedtime and harvest. If we could get a glimpse of all the harmful, negative seeds we plant in our friends and families by unkind, hurtful, and destructive words of anger, and bitterness.  We grow terrible, unprofitable crops from unforgiving natures.  Lord, help us to learn that we indeed reap what we sow in all areas of our lives.  Please help us to forgive others as we want You to forgive us!

Insensitive or Sensitive
By Brenda Drake

To be insensitive is easy; many walk this path,
They do not understand how others feel, in fact,
They are so insensitive they do not care,
So of God’s law of seedtime and harvest they remain unaware.
When you feel someone sensitive you clearly see,
How God desires you to be.
You become aware of things many do not know,
For the God you love and serve the right way shows.
The one sensitive already understands,
Their words and actions can and do affect their fellow man.
They already try to be careful what they express,
For they know they are accountable for the things they confess.
The one insensitive may walk hard on another without a backward glance.
They miss entirely the opportunity to find profit in a circumstance.
The sensitive one will not say always what comes to mind,
For they refuse to be moved by the flesh in trying times.
The sensitive and insensitive walk side by side it is true.
Displaying who they are in what they say and do.

James 3:17-18
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Actions are Louder than Words By Brenda Drake

Many times I have been comforted by a word of encouragement in a troubling time.  But it is a deeper, more rewarding comfort when I have received timely help from someone without even a delivered word.  I am encouraged when someone says they will pray for me, but it touches deeper in my heart when they spontaneously just pray.

Actions are Louder than Words

Actions are louder than words, louder than what you say is what you do.
To profess without works is untruth.
To say “I love you neighbor” and to walk away in their need,
Is to say “I want a harvest without planting a seed”.
To say you care for the one lonely – the forlorn and afraid;
But stay home your cheering is like offering a cake unbaked.
To say you will pray and then you forget,
Is like saying you will help cleanse them without getting wet.
If you say, I will help you, I will do this or that;
But instead you do not, what good is in the act?
Words that are kind and generous are never to be laid aside.
Words that uplift should always remain alive.
The one that truly loves will water what is sown.
Words need action they do not stand-alone.
Make sure to take the time,
To do the generous thing in mind.
When you love in word and in deeds as well,
A great work will be accomplished that God’s glory tells.
What Jesus said he did, and He did what He said,
Do as the Word says, for you are the body and Christ is the head.
Words speak loud, but not as loud as the deed done.
This is truth delivered from the Spirit of God’s Son.

James 3:13
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
