Born Anew; A New Creature By Brenda Drake

            I remember the day when I repented my sins and accepted Jesus as my Savior; Oh the glory that took place.  Although I did not fully understand what the difference was as I read the Word of God I learned the wondrous truth: I was completely a new person.  I not only thought differently; the beauty of God was evident all around me and overflowed in me.  The colors were brighter and my heart felt free to fly!

Born Anew; A New Creature

There is light now in the place
Where once darkness was embraced.
The way right is now a vital part
Of this very made new heart.
Wrong, dark-ways are rejected,
When the one renewed has evil suspected.
So vital is the change in redeemed man,
He is born anew into God’s plan.
His fight against evil is already won;
It has been conquered by the work of Jesus, God’s Son.
Every evil; every sin applied to your name,
Is wiped away, never again to remain.
Your part of the process is as easy as it is hard to do;
You need only to believe what Jesus did for you.
You need to repent and call out fleshly- ways,
And crucify its claim with the Word as you sing God’s praise.
You are a new-creature, one with the One who saved your soul.
You are one with the One-true-God; safely in His hold.
So shine your light bright in the world of sin and shame.
You need to fully rely on Jesus, and pray in His name.
No weapon set against you will prosper; no not one.
Believe and receive all you need and more in the days to come.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

Desperate No More By Brenda Drake

            I clearly remember trying so hard to be good.  I tried and tried but never felt like I had my mission accomplished.  The day I confessed my sin and asked Jesus to forgive and become Lord of my life was the day I knew I needed Him to be good.  My desperate search was over; Jesus was the answer my hungry heart strived to find.  In a moment He made me clean, reborn, whole, and new.

Desperate No More

Desperate soul – desperate no more;|
What was an empty place is now filled with the Lord.
Seeking, reaching; hearts for answers search,
Striving for assurance in their good works.
Trying and failing to the right way go;
But in an instant the truth is known.
The gentle help of Holy Spirit the heart prepares,
To hear and recognize the truth when shared.
In an instant the miracle takes place;
The desperate, lost soul is saved by grace.
Not one good reason is such a gift bestowed,
Other than God’s desire to draw into His fold.
The lost is found, darkness is invaded by the Light;
The once blind is given sight.
The diseased and poor is now richly made whole.
The outcast is brought into God’s eternal fold.
Rich in God’s favor and flavored with His love,
You are marked as precious property of God above.
Now dressed in robes of righteousness and peace;
Given a new heart to cause the Kingdom increase.
Desperate no more, faith in the Word is planted in.
As His bride the hope of Jesus’ return now rules within.

Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Come to the River By Brenda Drake

Although I am unable to swim I love to be near water.  There is a certain undefinable peace that brings comfort to the soul. There is no greater peace than the day we go to the River of Life, for then the Living water flows from within.

Come to the River

Come to the River; take a drink from its sweet flow.
It will renew and refresh your soul
Replace the cup of bitterness for the gift of grace,
Dip into its healing waters that heal in its embrace.
Allow the the air of perfection to surround you like a cloud.
Permit the joy of a saved soul to in praise cry aloud.
Allow the heartbeat of God to beat deep inside.
Come to the clear waters to reside.
Travel with the Most High offer your life to Him.
Return often to the healing waters again and again.
Keep eyes open for another that needs strength of soul.
Lead them to the One that makes new and whole.
God’s love is constant, so great is the supply.
It flows forever and is always nearby.
In Jesus is the River, as you live your life for Him;
You will never thirst in your soul for the River flows within.

Psalms 36:8-9
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light

John 7:37-38
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Allow God to Love You By Brenda Drake

            I remember well the first day I allowed God to love me. After a hard day, alone with children tucked in bed, relaxed in recliner with no remote at hand, the evangelist came on television.  I was too lazy to get up and change the channel.  What a great day it turned out to be. For the first time I learned of the sad, hopeless condition of my soul. I became aware of the wonderful love of God and His provision in my behalf.  The amazingly beautiful gift of salvation through Jesus’ work on the cross becomes crystal clear each time I spend time in His presence in praise, worship, and prayer

Allow God to Love You

Allow God to love you, listen to this word of rhyme.
Give Him your attention, share with Him your time.
Rest your weary mind, enjoy the encouragement He gives.
Allow the Spirit to soothe your soul, so without fear you can live.
Take the peace of the Savior; let it sing to you its sweet song.
Let joy flow forth inside you to make you strong.
Tear down the walls of bitterness, and the towers of pride.
Allow the forgiving Spirit to reign inside.
Rest in the Holy Scriptures, learn it promises and believe in them.
Allow the love of Christ to warm you from within.
Bring the sins that the enemy piles high on your back,
And allow God to throw them in the sea intact.
Trust in the One that loves you more than words can say.
Give Him your life and your problems and fears dissolve away.

Acts 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

If you have never asked Jesus to be your Lord, this is the perfect time. It is so very simple, first, admit you are a sinner, and are in need of a Savior. Believe and accept what He did for you, and ask Jesus to enter your heart and to live His life in you. He is faithful; you will never be sorry for your decision!

Sometimes I Fail By Brenda Drake

            I use to beat myself up for not acting the way I felt was acceptable to glorify God, and would help others recognize the Good News of Salvation.  Little by little it has sunk in I will never be a perfect example of what a Christ-follower should be. I am a new creation in Christ Jesus and a perfect example of God’s love and provision of salvation and grace.

Sometimes I Fail

Sometimes I fail and fall short of what I should be.
And many flaws in my character I see.
My shortcomings are so clear,
If I dwell on them I begin to fear
I know at times my light shines dim.
And I need it seems to start all over again.
But when I begin to feel low,
Lord Your love again begins to flow.
You show me my value in Your eyes.
And remind me of Your sacrifice.
When You administer Your sweet touch,
It heals the brokenness and fills me up.
When I am weakest, You are my strength.
When my soul thirsts, You give me drink.
When I am overburdened You carry my part.
When lonely You remind me, You are in my heart.
When I fall You still do not cast me aside.
In my dark failures You see  my heart’s cry.
In my circumstances, and the flaws that disgrace;
You see perfection, filtered through grace.
Help me Lord to not be discouraged, but to strive to overcome.
So I am a glory to Jesus when my life is done

Psalms 32:5-7
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah

A New Creation By Brenda Drake

What was perfectly normal and acceptable before salvation is not only unacceptable but so out of character it is hard to believe I am the same person.  Well, when I read the scripture I find I really am not that person.  I am born again and made new!  Thank you, Jesus for such a wonderful gift.

A New Creation

Those that learn God’s ways
Change the image they portray.
They desire to emulate God’s dear Son,
For with Him they are joined as one.
Their habits will change, bad ones replaced
With new ones that glorify Him and will not disgrace.
Their lives will be like an arrow pointing,
With a good light so others can the truth see.
Their hearts lift to be cleansed,
From all dirtiness and sin within.
Hopes aim higher than the earth;
After they have spiritual rebirth.
 You are more willing to do your destiny fulfill;
For now you love good and hate evil.
You testify of the freedom you have found,
And you will not allow anyone turn you around.
When you have decided to follow the Jesus as King,
Your thanks, praise, and worship continue to ring.
 Power grows inside as your roots sink in.
You drink living water, and are called God’s friend.
I AM – gives us new life;
A new creation all because of Jesus’ sacrifice

Proverbs 4:18
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

You Healed Me Like By Brenda Drake

Insecurities plagued me I could easily see all that was wrong with me, but I was learning all that Jesus did for me on the cross.  The holy Scriptures were teaching me some beautiful truths of His wondrous love and kindness toward those that He died for.

You Healed Me Like

Just like the man in the bible was touched so he could see;
Jesus did the same thing for me.
My eyes were opened …so I could recognize,
The provision of His sacrifice.
Like the deaf man was healed back then;
My ears were opened so .the truth could enter in
The truth about Jesus I understood;
Thank You Lord that now my hearing is good.
Like in the Scriptures the man dumb,
My mouth is now able to sing the praise of God’s Son.
Like the lame man, I can walk on God’s path,
No longer bound…. flat on his back.
My God leads me now step by step.
I’m learning fast but I’m not running yet.
Like the once crippled man picked up his bed long ago,
I pick up my cross to follow the way I need to go.
All the examples of healing done back then,
Are also accomplished in every one that is born again.
I marvel when Lazarus raised from the dead,
That received new life when darkness fled.
I can almost picture it was me;
All bound – but now I’m free.
I am alive…. the old me is no more,
For I am born again and I abide in my Lord.
I am now a seeing, hearing, achild of the King;
Walking forward loving to His praises sing!

Psalms 146:8
The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind:
the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down:
the Lord loveth the righteous:
