Look Up as You Climb By Brenda Drake

About the time we think all is smooth going along comes a mountain.  When we keep our eyes on our problem we do not get anywhere.  When wise we will take our eyes off the issue at hand and on the Word of God.  Instead of struggling by ourselves we have the privilege of asking assistance from our Lord. He is our help in times of trouble.  Instead looking down in discouragement we need to look up in faith as we continue on.

Look Up as You Climb

Look up as you God’s promises seek,
In confidence God’s Word speak.
When facing a mountain do not turn to look around.
Keep your focus on Jesus till you reach higher ground.
What is the mountain? It can be many things,
That attempt to hamper your way to the King,
Worry, fear, sadness, or despair,
It can be a thought of depression of life unfair.
Your mountain may be a person or a habit hard to break.
It can be the remembrance of a dire mistake.
Mountains are only a mountain to you.
They are not hard to the One that helps you through.
Mountains are removed when faith speaks.
Jesus, The Word, faced your largest mountain at Calvary.
Look up in your hard struggle and with faith pray.
God gives strength to climb or He moves the mountain out of your way.

Psalms 121:1-2
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Faith Filled Prayers By Brenda Drake

I give thanks for all your prayers. Seemingly impossible situations feel like a weight within.   Even when nothing has outwardly changed our hearts are relieved from heaviness when we lift them up in prayer.  Our faith is rewarded as we trust and give thanks.   It is impossible to please God without faith.

Faith Filled Prayers

When circumstances stand large in silent threat,
Do not despair, good from God expect.
In a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, things can change,
It is not a hard thing for God to arrange.
Take one day at a time, do what you know to do.
Walk with steady step following the one leading you.
Myriads of activity surround your life,
In the spiritual realm there is a fight.
Pray for God’s will, but do not worry about it.
Trust and rely on God’s Word choose to never to doubt it.
Life is beautiful, simple things enjoy.
Seek ye first God’s kingdom and added is extra joy.
Your heart’s desire is as plain as day to God above.
He is the dream planter, He is God of love.
God is not by your circumstances caught unaware,
Believe His love, lift up faith-filled prayers.

Galatians 5:5
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Jeremiah 29:11-13
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Drop Into My Heart By Brenda Drake

It took a while for me to realize I am unable to do anything of value without the Lord’s help.  I count on His help in everything for now I know my limitations;   I am weak, selfish, and not all that smart; but I also recognize He is shown strong in my weakness.

Drop into my Heart

Drop into my heart all the wisdom I need for this day.
Give me ability to reach and for another pray.
Live loud in me as I proclaim,
The power and majesty of Jesus’ name.
Let it be your light that shines;
To assure and help another as they seek to the treasure find.
Speak loud through me your life-giving word,
So it is truly a message from heaven heard.
Steady my step, pave ahead my path,
Give me authority to conquer every foe where I am at.
As I draw near this day for my daily supply,
Fill me up with your goodness on high.
With your love, your kindness, your understanding deep,
Your joy, your strength and abiding peace.
Every morsel that you share with this vessel of clay,
I will attempt to give away.
As you drop wisdom in my heart I am able to flow,
Successfully with you from soul to soul.
This request is huge and I almost wonder at my plea.
But this I know, it is your passion that I seek.
It is your love, your touch, and words I crave,
So I will just believe I receive the requests I have made.

Psalms 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:
therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
and with my song will I praise him.

Far Reach into Tomorrow By Brenda Drake

Our dreams are like seeds. We need to look ahead in faith to see the fruit of our planted seed of hope.  At times I clearly see ahead but when I get impatient my vision of harvest disappears from my sight. Lord help me to dream Your dreams for me.

Far Reach into Tomorrow

A far reach into my future by faith I see,
The reality of what now is only a dream to me.
I see the results of hard work and prayers have paid well.
I see all the future potential successful stories I can tell.
As I gaze ahead looking through eyes faith filled,
I see a profit of new souls who walk in God’s will.
Each move that I make
Is known by God and each step of the way.
Finds a certain progress I cannot see.
Moving toward the exalted future prepared for me.
I love my Lord and how I marvel in His ways;
At His faithfulness I will sing His praise.
A far reach into tomorrow by faith I see,
All that is now only a dream to me.
My God is with me now and He walks ahead too,
So I will enjoy today and watch to see my dreams come true.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith sees Beauty where Ashes are Still by Brenda Drake

We are surrounded on every side with the troubling circumstances of the day.  It is wise to be informed but with the conflicting information swirling about; less is more.   When our hearts are overwhelmed and worry fills our day; it is past time to get into the World of God to allow God’s wisdom and assurance to restore our ability to see with eyes of faith instead of fear. It is such a joy when an almost impossible situation has lost it power over us.  The circumstances perhaps remain the same but the atmosphere has changed. Faith has filled our eyes with the promises in God’s Word.  For… we remember that nothing is impossible to our God!

Faith Sees Beauty where Ashes are still

Faith filled eyes choose to see,
Exactly what God’s Word says will be.
Circumstances are not held in thought for long;
For the pull of the Word of God within is too strong.
Minds are trained to turn away from lie and fraud,
And to place in high honor the Word of God.
Faith filled eyes see beauty where ashes are still;
For they know that the Word for them is fulfilled.
Faith filled eyes see the answer that will come,
Almost before their prayer requests are done.
Yes the one with faith filled eyes may dance and will sing,
As they agree with God’s Word praise is brought to Jesus their King.

Mark 9:23
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Isaiah 61:3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion,
to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
that they might be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

The Measure that is True By Brenda Drake

We have a tendency to look at how far we need to go to be like Jesus.  The evil one is sure to point out everything that does not measure up.  Our worth needs to be seen by the light of the Word of God.  When we allow God’s truth inside, it indeed will set us free.
The truth is God loved us before we loved Him.  Jesus died to set us free from the bondage of sin.  The truth is…. Grace saves us, not our own goodness.  We are saved by Jesus’s work on the cross, not by our own works of the flesh. When we compare ourselves with others, we may come away feeling condemned and greatly lacking.  When we measure ourselves by the sacrifice on our behalf, we will know that God loves every person with the same passion.  We do not need to feel inferior or jealous of another again.

The Measure That Is True

Measure yourself not by others, but from where you have come.
Do not look at another to see how well you have done.
For always, you will see the example that makes you feel small.
The most important thing is God loves all.
You are just as large in His sight as the one you so admire.
You are dressed in the very same attire.
The same robe of righteousness was placed upon each back.
When you have accepted Jesus, you have no lack.
Measure what you are by the only measure that is true.
The measure of your worth is the work of the One that died for you.
In the Father’s eyes, He sees you tall and pure.
There is no need to fear when you are in God secured.
See how far you have come – the great changes that have taken place.
The old man is no more; you are born anew under grace.
Love one another and appreciate how far they have come too.
Be glad and rejoice for you both in the same Spirit move.

Ephesians 4:4-7
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Broken Heart Come Back by Brenda Drake

There have been many opportunities for celebration when I heeded the sweet council within me.  There are the terrible times of failure when I did not listen to the Word of God but followed the leading of the flesh.  At these heartbreaking times, the correction of God is not only expected but almost desired.  It was at one of these times when the Lord in His goodness called me to come back.

Broken Heart Come Back

Your heart is breaking; it is very heavy in your chest.
You walked the way you should not; you followed the leading of the flesh.
The road though very colorful, is not the way that is right to go.
It seems to promise good things but as you know,
The way of disobedience is not by God blessed.
There is only one way out of your troubles — repent, and sins confess
Admit you are a sinner and that you have been led astray.
Set your mind on Jesus, and prepare to his Word obey.
Oh the sweetness of grace – taste it once again.
Take it and make it the place to again begin.
Crucify the flesh; from the devil flee.
Put your trust in Jesus, and His strength will set you free.
Only after true repentance are you allowed under God’s cover,
Completely forgiven and restored and with your God a love

1 John 1:8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
