Chapter 1

It boggles the mind to think someone loves us enough to die for us.  But greater still is the mind-blowing realization the Creator of the universe loved us enough to not only die for us but also chooses to live in us.  His love is never ending.  It is indeed extravagantly elaborate; He is willing and able to provide for our every need.  He is truly our prince charming! He is Lord of lords and King of kings.

Extravagant Love

Love created – those created rebelled,
Evil entered to lead the way to hell.
Love had a perfect plan,
But it needed to help the blind to see His plan.
Love reveals Himself to those who will obey;
To tell others in need and to lead the way.
It is an extravagant love that never stopped its flow.
Only an extravagant love would choose to die to save every soul.
This love will not force His self upon those He desires to touch.
But He will never stop demonstrating His love.
The free choice to choose or reject Him is His first gift given to all.
But He will never stop wooing the one who will hear His call.
Extravagant love tasted death so death would lose its sting.
Extravagant love makes a pauper a child of the king.
Jesus is the love-word spoken from the cross of shame.
A love-proposal to offer His name;
An over-the-top expression of devotion to call His bride.
When He said it was finished, He for them died.
But this love could not in the tomb stay,
He arose conqueror, alive in every way.

Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

When we look at all the many needs in our troubled world, we feel so out of control.   It is wonderful to remember God is in control.  He gives us assurance of His love and provisions in the Word of God and has given us the gift of prayer.  He never looks away. What have we to fear? 

He Sees the Sparrow Fall

Love hears every despairing call,
He feels every need, He sees even the sparrow fall.
Every desire, hope, and dream is known,
Each one is felt as His own.
Every sad, worry line upon the face,
Father God desires to erase.
The mountain in your path, halting your success;
Is leveled before you as faith is confessed.
The stance of the enemy towering in threatening ways,
Cowers in fear at the heart that sings God’s praise.
The seemingly mundane, everyday walk of life,
Is a picture of magnificence in the eyes of Christ.
Lift your voice and like a bird fly free,
Sing words of love, hope, and victory.
In expectation remember the love of the Lord,
Steadily, and confidently walk forward.
If in danger and attacked for doing right
And all begins to fall low in your sight.
Remember God is listening for your prayer.
Lift up your eyes and remember how much He cares.

Luke 12:7
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

            It is easy to remember God is good, but it is a little bit harder to remember it is God who is the good in us.  When we forget we begin to puff ourselves up when we have accomplished a good word or a good deed.  God is good and His work in us is good, He must receive all the praise and glory.

God is Good Within

You say God is good, this is true,
But you must also see God is good in you.
Do not despise your small beginnings in Christ.
For a harvest comes from His seed in your life.
Jesus is the one good thing within,|
All praise and glory belongs to Him.
Every effort you take to follow in His steps,
Is a good seed that is not a harvest yet.
So live your life in faith doing the best you know to do.
If profit and praise comes know it is God shining through.
God is good, all the time God is good,
He works within to help you do as you should.
When you heed His promptings you will be,
A light in the dark world for the lost to see.
But when you have success and when others come,
You must be sure to give the honor to God’s Son.
Jesus is your Savior and lover of your soul.
When you yield to Him He will through you overflow.
Love loves to sing praise and within shines bright.
By your attitude and countenance God’s goodness is in plain sight.

Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
