The Difference of Want and Need

I have desired some things so much I convinced myself it was God’s will for me.  It was not always a bad thing; in fact I thought I had some wonderful plans.  God did not always open the doors but I sure sometimes pushed very hard to open them to try to help Him.  God is good; but His plans are not always what we want.  The Word of God assures us He has good things planned for our best.

The Difference of Want and Need

Sometimes our needs and our wants are hard to define.
They become mixed up in our mind.
When we want something so much it feels like a need,
It is hard to recognize in its greed.
When desire becomes an obsession,
It dominates our thoughts and takes possession.
Does it belong more to the world, is it its treasure?
Determine its worth with God’s measure.
Or, is it something that will stay with you,
That will honor God when you are through?
Trust God’s provisions are with you shared,
He does not refuse to help because He truly cares.
If you still are unable to the difference between want and need,
Come in prayer so it will be revealed to thee.
Then you will be able to rest,
In God’s decision to give you what is best.
You can be confident He loves you so much,
That He bestows upon you more than your lifted cup.

Psalms 107:9
For he satisfieth the longing soul,
and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Get Us Back on Track By Brenda Drake

Once upon a time we as a Country were taught to honor and respect God. It is not only our duty but our privilege to delight in, and to adhere to the Holy Scriptures.  Lord, hear our prayers and heal our land.

Get Us Back on Track

We offer our lives to God above,
With words and actions that prove our love.
Lord we need to see,
Where we need to be.
When we have followed our own path,
We need Your help to get us back on track.
Show us when it is better not to insist we are right;
And when we to know when to stand up and fight.
Teach us to turn away from the world’s stress;
And how we need to confront an issue the way best.
Jesus, you see clearly what our heart cries to know;|
We trust it all in Your care; take full control.
Help us to choose to Your ways discover.
Jesus, help us to truly love one another.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Psalms 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye

Jesus is the Well-Marked Path By Brenda Drake

Jesus is the way.  His example shows the way.  Jesus is the Word.  His words reveals to us the way.  He said He will never leave or forsake us.  He is a high-tower in life’s storms.  He speaks to the wind that blows.  He calms our troubled sea.  I do not want to take one step without Him.  Because of His provision to send the Holy Spirit, my forever companion, I never need to find my own way again.

Jesus is the Well-Marked Path

There is a well ordered, well-marked path;
 With pitfalls plainly revealed on the track.
Danger is great, but there is a loving guide,
He makes a covering for you and He moves inside.
His provisions are sufficient, with pure water and fresh bread.
And He fully assures He knows the way ahead.
In Him is all knowledge, His wisdom mystifies.
He has full access anywhere, His authority is fully recognized.
No one is able to deny Him entrance, and only He closes doors.
He is the eternal light that shines forward.
He is truth, no lie touches upon His lips.
He is the Word that speaks many promises.
There is no mountain too high or water too wide or deep;
For in Him and with Him is mighty unlimited strength.
He is called Savior, Son of God, best friend,
He is Emmanuel; God with us, trust in Him.
His name is Jesus; there is no name higher than this.
He offered His life to your life assist.
He bought and paid for our safe destination with His blood.
He fully loves us, He is committed for our good.
Who would be so foolish to this great gift reject?
Only the foolish man; his decision he will surely regret.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.
