In the Lap of Love By Brenda Drake

When we practice the presence of God the dark world and its problems, fade in the light of His love.  What a lovely, wonderful place, its value is more than all the worlds riches!

In the Lap of Love

When you struggle to your feet, and each step is slowed;
There is something that you need to know.
Your burden is too heavy, get on your knees within,
And I will lift you up into the lap of love again.
When you are hurting and your armor has been misplaced,
And you feel weak, come I’ll lift you into My embrace.
Confess yours sin of unforgiveness and you will be,
Lifted within as My strength you receive.
When drained and discouraged in your toil,
And your garments of praise have become soiled,
Come, I’ll refresh you with a new supply.
I’ll lift you up and fill you with fresh joy so you are not dry.
Perhaps you feel lonely and need a friend to speak to;
Come, I’ll lift you up in my lap of love – I will listen to you.
The love of God calls out “Come, I will fill you up”
“It is My desire to show you love”
“Just come and rest – come at any time”
“You do not need a reason when you are Mine”
When a small child appears and simply lays upon your chest,
There is great comfort to your soul as they rest.
Just so the Father’s heart yearns for you to draw near;
Come at any time child, never approach in fear.
When lifted to the lap of love peace will satisfy your soul.
For in this place of luxury, you know beyond a doubt who is in control!

Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

We Do Not Battle Alone By Brenda Drake

Putting on the Armor of God

The world weighs heavy on the heart.  There is so much going on that I do not like.  When it is overwhelming and I begin to get depressed and discouraged, I know it is past the time I should have brought each troubling situation to the Lord in prayer.  When I pray I am strengthened to continue doing all I am able to do while I trust God to do what needs to be done in the very best way.

We Do Not Battle Alone

Things are sometimes hard to understand.
Some people are so tormented that walk the land.
They are surrounded with circumstances not good;
They are taken for granted and misunderstood.
Children are born in family’s evil in every way;
Who mistreat and misuse them each day.
There are some cruel and make life very hard to bear.
People suffer unspeakable things and feel no one cares.
Countless crimes are committed, so senseless in their attacks.
Fear and anxiety too many are everyday facts.
What can I do or to say in such a despairing times?
I need life-giving words to speak that are not mine.
Who is able to help their terrible plight escape?
Who will assist them before it is too late?
Does prayer help without a helping hand?
Father, allow me to know what to do when I can.
Give me Your wisdom to the battle fight.
Give me ability to make a difference in another’s life.
Jesus I need eyes to see and ears to hear their plea,
Then provide me courage to reach out for You to help in their need.
The main thing needed is to fully know.
We do not go into battle alone ….You are in control.

Ephesian 6:11-12
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

From the Evil Path Set Free By Brenda Drake

I have walked the path of least resistance many times.  I made the excuse of wanting to live a peace filled life.  It really was a lukewarm way of trying to fit in the world. I am glad my Lord will not make excuses for my evil ways and He is faithful to point out my inconsistencies.

From the Evil Path Set Free

Where the road leads they travel with the flow.
It is decided by the majority which way they go.
They have favorite saying that justify their stand;
Things like, “It was meant to be” or “It was out of my hands.”
It is almost unthinkable to cause a godly stir,
Even to be more convincing they will use God’s Word.
Such as “I must live in peace,” or” I must love my brother,”
“There is not anyone any better than another.”
“All fall short and all are sinners,” or Everybody makes mistakes.”
They will say, “I cannot push too hard or the reed will break.”
Yes there are many good answers that give good excuse,
For a sinful or lazy attitude; a passive life of no real use
But you will find some travel in the opposite direction.
They disrupt the flow at every intersection.
They are a constant obstacle that the world hates to see.
These are the one in service to me.
They say what God’s Word says, they do as Jesus did.
They do the opposite of what the world is.
They give instead of hording they look up instead of down.
They guard closely the truth, they stand their ground.
They angrily will fight to help out another,
And they will hold out their arms for a cover.
They cause disturbance in the heavenly for their prayers go before them.
They trust their leader Jesus and they adore Him.
Their lives are given to live for Him who died so they could be.
From the flow of the evil world’s path set free.

Matthew 7:12
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The Difference of Want and Need

I have desired some things so much I convinced myself it was God’s will for me.  It was not always a bad thing; in fact I thought I had some wonderful plans.  God did not always open the doors but I sure sometimes pushed very hard to open them to try to help Him.  God is good; but His plans are not always what we want.  The Word of God assures us He has good things planned for our best.

The Difference of Want and Need

Sometimes our needs and our wants are hard to define.
They become mixed up in our mind.
When we want something so much it feels like a need,
It is hard to recognize in its greed.
When desire becomes an obsession,
It dominates our thoughts and takes possession.
Does it belong more to the world, is it its treasure?
Determine its worth with God’s measure.
Or, is it something that will stay with you,
That will honor God when you are through?
Trust God’s provisions are with you shared,
He does not refuse to help because He truly cares.
If you still are unable to the difference between want and need,
Come in prayer so it will be revealed to thee.
Then you will be able to rest,
In God’s decision to give you what is best.
You can be confident He loves you so much,
That He bestows upon you more than your lifted cup.

Psalms 107:9
For he satisfieth the longing soul,
and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Get Us Back on Track By Brenda Drake

Once upon a time we as a Country were taught to honor and respect God. It is not only our duty but our privilege to delight in, and to adhere to the Holy Scriptures.  Lord, hear our prayers and heal our land.

Get Us Back on Track

We offer our lives to God above,
With words and actions that prove our love.
Lord we need to see,
Where we need to be.
When we have followed our own path,
We need Your help to get us back on track.
Show us when it is better not to insist we are right;
And when we to know when to stand up and fight.
Teach us to turn away from the world’s stress;
And how we need to confront an issue the way best.
Jesus, you see clearly what our heart cries to know;|
We trust it all in Your care; take full control.
Help us to choose to Your ways discover.
Jesus, help us to truly love one another.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Psalms 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye
