There was one walking on a dark lonely street; He was a stranger that soon I would meet. We are as opposite as two people can get, And to the world of no real value if we met. But God has a master plan, That neither of us could yet understand. Our worlds collide like a fast moving train; Never again will our lives be the same. There are many times on the earth we dwell, Lives are thrown together as well. Times, when a stranger becomes vital part, Of our very-own, very private heart. Strangers that become vitally connected, With a divine touch that is unexpected.
I met one special stranger that completely changed my life. Who became my Savior, and my Lord; Jesus Christ. He made my heart willing and able to see, How the heart of God draws even closer to me. As I begin to open my eyes; His face in other strangers is recognized, Help me Jesus to search for and value souls more, So when we are escorted through heaven’s door. We will greet as brothers our Lord and our friend, Where the life of true family begins.
Matthew 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
The greatest day is the day You revealed Yourself to me.
How Far Could He See
Sorely beaten; upon his head a thorny crown roughly placed; Great spikes pierced His flesh, His beard torn from His face; Nailed on a cross with a sign above clearly seen. A sea of faces: some crying, some mocking; evil, and mean. Raised up with thieves, one on each side, As a mass of people waited for them to die. On His back, every sin of every man was known. The perfect Son of God called each one His own. How far could He see?” is the question asked. He saw exactly where you are at. He saw far into the future and as far back as sin’s start. He accepted the penalty of each one so He could reign in your heart. Every sin, every shame, every inability, He saw and paid for at Calvary. But great is the day when man’s opened eyes know, Jesus raised so His new life in and through them could overflow.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
One day I was contemplating the greatness of God and truly it almost blew my mind. The more I thought of His magnitude the smaller and smaller I felt, until I almost disappeared in my sight. I exclaimed, God how big You are! Then I heard clearly, but child look how small I am I live in your heart. Such love is hard to understand but we will spend eternity exploring the deepness of such passion.
A love so profound, the ocean is like a puddle when compared. A love so grand, the universe cannot have room to spare A joy that’s explanation has never known words to teach; Eons of times ahead and past cannot its limit reach. A heart so big, a plan so marvelous and grand, No one ever was, is, or is to be, can fully understand. What is man, that God would place upon him the gift of His love? Why would the Father look upon him with such favor from above? It is too marvelous; He makes sinful man as pure as His own Son, With desire to join us forever with Him as one. It’s almost too much for me to comprehend; The Creator of all there is calls me His friend. A masterplan so wondrous, He allows me to be of it a part. Such a deep love, He decided to reside within my heart. A marvel so majestic I cannot fully understand But I offer my life to become all He has planned.
Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
I remember well the first day I allowed God to love me. After a hard day, alone with children tucked in bed, relaxed in recliner with no remote at hand, the evangelist came on television. I was too lazy to get up and change the channel. What a great day it turned out to be. For the first time I learned of the sad, hopeless condition of my soul. I became aware of the wonderful love of God and His provision in my behalf. The amazingly beautiful gift of salvation through Jesus’ work on the cross becomes crystal clear each time I spend time in His presence in praise, worship, and prayer
Allow God to Love You
Allow God to love you, listen to this word of rhyme. Give Him your attention, share with Him your time. Rest your weary mind, enjoy the encouragement He gives. Allow the Spirit to soothe your soul, so without fear you can live. Take the peace of the Savior; let it sing to you its sweet song. Let joy flow forth inside you to make you strong. Tear down the walls of bitterness, and the towers of pride. Allow the forgiving Spirit to reign inside. Rest in the Holy Scriptures, learn it promises and believe in them. Allow the love of Christ to warm you from within. Bring the sins that the enemy piles high on your back, And allow God to throw them in the sea intact. Trust in the One that loves you more than words can say. Give Him your life and your problems and fears dissolve away.
Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
If you have never asked Jesus to be your Lord, this is the perfect time. It is so very simple, first, admit you are a sinner, and are in need of a Savior. Believe and accept what He did for you, and ask Jesus to enter your heart and to live His life in you. He is faithful; you will never be sorry for your decision!
I use to beat myself up for not acting the way I felt was acceptable to glorify God, and would help others recognize the Good News of Salvation. Little by little it has sunk in I will never be a perfect example of what a Christ-follower should be. I am a new creation in Christ Jesus and a perfect example of God’s love and provision of salvation and grace.
Sometimes I Fail
Sometimes I fail and fall short of what I should be. And many flaws in my character I see. My shortcomings are so clear, If I dwell on them I begin to fear I know at times my light shines dim. And I need it seems to start all over again. But when I begin to feel low, Lord Your love again begins to flow. You show me my value in Your eyes. And remind me of Your sacrifice. When You administer Your sweet touch, It heals the brokenness and fills me up. When I am weakest, You are my strength. When my soul thirsts, You give me drink. When I am overburdened You carry my part. When lonely You remind me, You are in my heart. When I fall You still do not cast me aside. In my dark failures You see my heart’s cry. In my circumstances, and the flaws that disgrace; You see perfection, filtered through grace. Help me Lord to not be discouraged, but to strive to overcome. So I am a glory to Jesus when my life is done
Psalms 32:5-7 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah
What was perfectly normal and acceptable before salvation is not only unacceptable but so out of character it is hard to believe I am the same person. Well, when I read the scripture I find I really am not that person. I am born again and made new! Thank you, Jesus for such a wonderful gift.
A New Creation
Those that learn God’s ways Change the image they portray. They desire to emulate God’s dear Son, For with Him they are joined as one. Their habits will change, bad ones replaced With new ones that glorify Him and will not disgrace. Their lives will be like an arrow pointing, With a good light so others can the truth see. Their hearts lift to be cleansed, From all dirtiness and sin within. Hopes aim higher than the earth; After they have spiritual rebirth. You are more willing to do your destiny fulfill; For now you love good and hate evil. You testify of the freedom you have found, And you will not allow anyone turn you around. When you have decided to follow the Jesus as King, Your thanks, praise, and worship continue to ring. Power grows inside as your roots sink in. You drink living water, and are called God’s friend. I AM – gives us new life; A new creation all because of Jesus’ sacrifice
Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Many forget God’s grace is a gift of undeserved favor and begin to rely on their own excellence. Then when they fail at their attempt in a walk of perfection they become discouraged and in need of a kind and understanding word of direction to redirect back into the arms of grace. .
Show and Extend Grace
Dejected and dismayed, Forlorn and unmade. Hope is gone and faith has fled, Recalling no more what God’s Word says. He measures by the world’s scales his worth. With opened eyes to his lack his heart hurts. He has tried to do right in his own strength, But the way ahead is harder than he thinks. His companions within; boastfulness and pride, Loudly speaks out like a blasting horn inside. At life’s injustices anger seethes deep within, Ready to emerge like a bomb lit in him. He is a sad creature; few know the truth of his woe. He is the one who tries to always be in control. Pray for him for he needs to see and know his true worth, It was measured when Christ came to earth. Jesus paid a price large at Calvary. On the cross He died to set him free. When you see him, show and extend grace; So the God that so loved him can again show him His face.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
I never was a person to set out to hurt someone, but I also did not care enough to set out to help them either. A great change has taken place in my life since Jesus saved my soul. I not only care for others but I spend time thinking of ways to help them if I am able. My prayers now are not just for my needs but are also for the need of salvation and the concerns of others.
Direction for the Gentle Spirit
Direction for the gentle spirit, yielded and still, That hungers and thirsts after the Father’s will. For the one who wants to see beauty in the most unlovable kind, hat purposes to good in each person find. Know your God will reveal the deep innermost part, Of the valuable, empty space in their heart. I will give you the ability to not only see, But love enough to inside of them reach for me. That hard, relentless, calculating person you know, Has a great need within their soul. The bitter, angry man uncompromising in his ways Has great need within for God’s love to brighten his days. The very sinful man that seems to wallow in the world’s mire, Their heart too your God also desires. If you allow me to show you we will gather more and more, Into the holy presence of the love of your Lord. I will bestow upon you more than you can contain, You will over flow like a river in Jesus’ name. Sweet and peaceful with a gentle warm embrace, That honors the Father in the world’s last days. Oh gentle spirit become more like the One you serve. Learn from the Holy Spirits still voice as you read God’s Word.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
God loves us so much. He died to save our soul and He equips us to reach out and lead another to the cross of Christ. Every person has opportunity to draw another to the truth that set them free; by our testimony declaring the works of God in our life. Every person has need of salvation; some know they have a need of help, and others may feel they have no need of help in any way.
Cry of the Weak
Pick up the pieces, look around, Make sure the weak and lost are found. Search in places you would hardly believe, To find precious jewels that belongs to me. In dark corners under the cover of sin; They are not recognizable in the shape they are in. If you are not careful you may pass them by; So weak is the sound of their cry. Those who gather souls must have a listening ear, They the frail sound will hear. Come, all who are willing to do as I ask; Those that seek to bring the backslidden back. Pray that your declarations give hope. And your words of wisdom will help them cope. Be kind to the stranger and truly listen when they speak, And you will be well armed and able to help the weak.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Psalms 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than
Before I knew the grossness and the penalty of sin I had very little guilty feelings, but after I truly desired to live right, I was harassed with feelings of inadequacy to measure up to God’s Word. One day the Lord showed me the absurdity of this. He loved and died for me before I loved Him. Why now when I love Him would He love me less? He would never need the help of His enemy to tell me what I need to do.
Bullied by the Accuser
The enemy points out small infractions and paints them, Seemingly, into large, gross, unforgivable sins. He lays condemnation as a burden to pack; He keeps piling things heavy on your back. He points out everything to cause shame, He loves to accuse and enjoys casting blame. Critical, unloving, and judgmental without any grace, He brings forth anything to disgrace. The accuser has no right to blame you anymore; For your every transgression is covered by the Lord. Your worth is not measured by what you do or do not do. Your worth is measured by who dwells inside of you. If your own heart convicts thee; Take heed but do not be bullied by the enemy. He does not point out sin to those that he easily tempts, He accuses those who desire to obey and repent. If he can persuade them they are still full of sin. He causes great discouragement in them. Walk each day doing the best you can. Do the work of God the best you understand. If you sin, quickly repent in prayer, And know you are forgiven for your God truly cares. When you hear a taunt that will not cease its noise in your ear, Rebuke it and turn away from it and it will not stay near. One day you will behold the one that caused your heart and mind so much strife. You will see how pitiful and how weak he is in the presence of Christ.
Revelations 12:8 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
