Fragrance of Life or Death By Brenda Drake

We are brought from death to life in Christ. We may not see the change but be sure others see the difference. The Word says there is an external and internal change.  Not only are we saved from the threat of hell’s punishment we no longer are the stench of death and decay. After salvation we have the aroma of Christ.

Fragrance of Life or Death

There is no mistaking the difference everyone can tell;
Life and death has different smells.
Look around at what you hear, taste, and see,
Are they life-giving things or do they stink?
Gossip may seem a tasty morsel but it brings death.
It has no life-giving promise to expect.
Hurtful words hang heavy in the heart and mind;
Have a terrible aroma that is hard to take sometimes.
To God there is an aroma sweet to hear, taste, and see.
His affection is constant for those who His gift receives.
Obedience along with, honor and respect for others;
 Is the sweet fragrance of your Soul’s Lover.
Jesus is life – He gives life to the lost.
He draws from death to new life at the Cross.
There is no mistaking the difference when you come.
From the stench of death to the sweet smell of rebirth with God as One.

2 Corinthians 2:14-16
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.  For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

Shared Aroma By Brenda Drake

It is good to recognize those in our life that makes the air sweeter around us.  They may need an encouraging word all they do is appreciated.  We all have special people in our life that make the world a better place. Lord help us to communicate our love and respect for their contribution and their service to You and to others.

Shared Aroma

When you think of a rose on the vine,
Its sweet aroma immediately comes to mind.
They are an appreciated gift;
On special occasions to your spirit lift.
Unless under special care all their petals fall.
The sweet aroma leaves last of all.

There are many in God’s kingdom like this.
They are like the rose and too are a special gift.
Lovely, sweet aroma comes from their life.
Their hearts are filled with praise to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Petals fall here and there,
As their aroma is with others shared.
God is pleased with them. but at times they do not believe it is so.
They feel useless and almost invisible.
Would you, could you do a favor for yourself and for them too?
Tell them you love and appreciate all they have done and still do.

Ephesians 5:2
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering

and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Romans 12:10
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Fragrance of Life or Death By Brenda Drake

I love the smell of flowers but dead flowers do not inspire my heart to sing.  God loves all of His creation, but He hates the stench of sin.  He made it possible for us to smell good again.  It is our choice to keep our life alive by obeying the Word and by repenting and by turning from our wicked ways.
