All is Known but Not All Know By Brenda Drake

            I remember wondering as a small child does God know me.  If He was real I wondered why He would not speak to me. Now I know not only did God know me, He knew me in my mother’s womb.  Not only does He hear me, He speaks to me in countless ways.  He loves every person born and not born.  Jesus died to pay the debt of sin so we could partake in the holy, eternal future planned for His creation to live in His presence.

All is known but Not All Know

The lonely soul forlornly sitting in a chair,
Wondering if there is anyone that is aware and cares,
The mother struggling to raise their young right,
With fading strength in a never-ending fight.
The young man or woman that feels only dread,
When they plan for the future they see ahead.
The war-torn survivor of sickness or shame,
Those that have little of value except their good name.
The loving soul that loves to love,
That has not yet found the truth to the way above.
The proud or obnoxious one that blows like the wind,
That pushes and shoves affection away him.
The widow who cries herself to sleep,
The strong self-sufficient one that refuses to weep,
The Ones slammed by disaster knocking at the door.
And those who are like a storm that does not care anymore.
The one that speaks loud things,
That sputters and dishonors everyone and everything.
The child with heart repented and eyes opened wide,
To allow God’s wisdom and strength inside.
All those that walk, talk, live, think, and feel
The One that loved, lived, and died for them desires to heal.
All are known and loved and cared for.
But not all know or feel the love of the Lord.

Psalms 147:5
Great is our Lord, and of great power:
his understanding is infinite.

Psalms 139:1-6
O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising,thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down,
and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue,
but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before,
and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Whisper to the Heart By Brenda Drake

In our troubled times I believe seeking hearts will hear God’s whispering sounds of love. I do not know how we listen to God without hearing a sound, but I know without a doubt I have heard loud what another does not hear right next to me.  I do not know how out of the blue I know without a doubt what direction I need to take, but I do. How do I feel confident and full of faith when just moments before I was unsure and doubtful?  I just know it is my Lord speaking loud within me.

Whisper to the Heart

Whispers to the heart sound loud and clear;
Even louder sometimes, than when spoken in the ear.
The voice may sound like the wind,
But somehow you know the whisper comes from Him.
The slight nod of disapproval when you purposely disobey;
The inner conviction that shows the right way,
The calm nudge of assurance that has peace in its touch,
Agreeing with your decision confidence fills your cup,
The indescribable delight that bubbles up deep inside,
That promises satisfaction as in Him you abide.
Whispers of the heart are not mundane or dull,
They have an attraction that the heart-strings pull.
They draw into repentance, worship, and praise.
They add flavor to your life and life to your days.
Do you hear loving sounds even in this rhyme?
Perhaps you will recognize the whisper God designs.

Psalms 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye.

Be Still By Brenda Drake

     When overcome with the troubles and trials of this world there is a place where we can find the sweet atmosphere we need to face our world with God’s strength within.

Be Still

When you desire to be carried to the sweet place of peace;
Where the inner hearing’s ability is increased,
When God’s thoughts enter the receptive attentive heart,
And every worldly care departs,
Nothing else matters – no one… not one thing;
For every fiber of your being is brought before the King.
Take a deep breath…let it out slow,
Allow His love to fill you – body, mind and soul.
Even the air smells sweeter in this place,
As you are wrapped in the comfort of His embrace.
Lovely songs of praise well up from within,
To give praise as you worship Him.
There’s value in this place – it overflows with power and might;
As the loving attitude in God delights.
Jesus will be revealed and His name is lifted high.
That you are His cannot be denied.
The sweet inner peace has you so filled,
Your countenance will show the value of “before God being still”

Psalms 63:5-6
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:  When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Psalms 46:10-11
Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge
