I mistakenly used to think child-like faith was to unquestionably take life and its ups and downs without hesitantly and without question. But, truly my children were always full of questions. When they were afraid they would run to me for an answer to help put their fears to rest. They believed I was there to tell the truth, to assist, protect, and to comfort them. We as God’s children should also know and trust He hears and answers prayer with our best interest at heart. When there is no immediate answer what then? Stand in trust, have faith God will and does fight our battle.
Childlike in Faith
Childlike-faith faces the day without fear; As long as the one that cares for them is near. The healthy, well-loved child through faith sees, A world that holds great promise and beauty. But in times of trouble when winds of life blow strong, Childlike-faith listens, and draws close to where they belong. When an enemy or menacing stranger tries to pull them astray, The wise, obedient child resists and turns the other way. The follower of Jesus; the one that has faith to spare; Will like a child his good news share. Wise like His Master; his confidence in God above, Helps him make wise decisions as he trusts in His love. When the world darkens in its threatening stance, Childlike; yet with God’s strength, they face circumstance. Full trusting God hears their prayer and answers the way best; With supernatural ability they stand, in spiritual armors dressed. With heart prepared to the battle win, And yet like the small child, at rest within.
Luke 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Ephesians 6:14-18 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
It seems when young we have so much time to accomplish all we desire to do. Then it seems there is never enough time to do as we must do. God is in control of the amount of my days. All I can do is live each day loving and serving Him knowing He has good things planned ahead for me now and in the hereafter.
Time is Measured
Time is measured, each person that lives, Has an allotted time marked as his. In its minutes, hours, and days Time measures their ways. Do you wonder why time goes slow, And then at times you wonder where it goes? Do you think God is slow too? Wondering why it takes so long for dreams to come true? It is all perspectives issue my friend. You see what you feel, God knows beginning to end. Your instruction in the Word is to keep God in mind. Obey the Word; thus redeeming the time. Time is measured for you. The time is near when dreams come true. Soon you will know, see, hear, and taste; The full benefit and promises of God’s grace. A new day; a new time under Christ’s rule on earth, As bride, as friend, to assist in His work. God’s timing is perfect; it is all in His plan. Rejoice holding faith close in heart while holding unto His hand.
Palms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
We are hard on ourselves sometimes. We have distorted ideas of our worth, if we do not act in the way we perceive as right we feel we have failed. I am happy our Lord knows all our weaknesses and does not measure our success by our actions but by His work in our behalf.
You may feel your faith has faltered and your pace has slowed, But in truth you are walking forward on streets of gold. Your love you wonder is it as strong as before? Is it as strong and true for your Lord? When life throws darts and hits hard inside, You know where to run to hide. Faith is not always showy in its display. It does not always know exactly what to say. It does not always run wild and free; Sometimes faith crawls on heart’s knees. Faith’s test- Are you God’s child? On Him do you depend? If a negative word is said against His name do you defend? When trouble and trials come do you believe for God’s best? If yes to all these questions you pass faith’s test. Love, faith, and hope join together from time to time. When they do joy, peace and assurance are also close by.
Hebrews 11:4 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
At times I feel I understand and have faith and at other times I have none because of unbelief. Real faith is in God and His Word. We do not always possess great faith but faith the size of a mustard seed is enough. Hold unto your faith, God is in control.
Faith is Like
Faith is like technology; it takes a while to grasp, But when you do the world opens up, in fact, You are able to do much more than you ever thought you could. And you can accomplish much more than you ever thought you would. Faith is like a light that illuminates the mind; What was not comprehended is clearly defined. Faith sees what is not seen by the eyes. In confidence faith’s expectations will not be denied. Faith is like the sleeping giant that does not know his might; But when revived, is unstoppable, and ready to fight. Faith in God and in His holy word, Will speak forth the impossible and when it is heard, Angels rush to greet it and the demons flee; For the light of God’s power shakes the heavenly. Faith is just a word that exclaims, The truth the Father wills in Jesus’ name.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea;
I used to expect trouble, kind of like Murphy’s Law. I expected to fail, and I did. I have since learned to hope for what God’s Word says. I expect the God that loved us so much He died for our sins to finish the work He started. I no longer live anticipating bad news; I am living the Good News watching and expecting for God’s provision and His intervention.
Expectancy is Another Word for Faith
My hope for the future is colored bright. I expect wrongs will be changed to right. In every difficult step we take I expect new strength in renewed faith. Hope and expectation holds unto faith’s hand. The three unite to accomplish God’s plan. Just as we hope for a child, we in faith expect, Our beautiful God-given gift. Love grants what we have faith to receive. God gave all we can hope for to set us free. When down in the dumps and hope and expectancy is low; Faith in God’s love lifts me up and it will not let me go. Hope is renewed like a fresh rain on parched ground, And expectancy for God’s favor again is found. Faith looks up and will not look back God’s love again, pulls hope, expectation, and faith; united back on track.
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
We are surrounded on every side with the troubling circumstances of the day. It is wise to be informed but with the conflicting information swirling about; less is more. When our hearts are overwhelmed and worry fills our day; it is past time to get into the World of God to allow God’s wisdom and assurance to restore our ability to see with eyes of faith instead of fear. It is such a joy when an almost impossible situation has lost it power over us. The circumstances perhaps remain the same but the atmosphere has changed. Faith has filled our eyes with the promises in God’s Word. For… we remember that nothing is impossible to our God!
Faith Sees Beauty where Ashes are still
Faith filled eyes choose to see, Exactly what God’s Word says will be. Circumstances are not held in thought for long; For the pull of the Word of God within is too strong. Minds are trained to turn away from lie and fraud, And to place in high honor the Word of God. Faith filled eyes see beauty where ashes are still; For they know that the Word for them is fulfilled. Faith filled eyes see the answer that will come, Almost before their prayer requests are done. Yes the one with faith filled eyes may dance and will sing, As they agree with God’s Word praise is brought to Jesus their King.
Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
I have been faithfully staying at home, following our leaders instructions, along with countless others across the world. Amongst the world’s steady proclamations of the New Normal I have been praying and studying the scriptures just as many others are also. Seeking wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit on where we are on God’s plan for His children. I know He is in control. Do I know what exactly is on our world’s agenda? No, but I do know we are on God’s agenda. He is faithful and loves us so much. I believe that whatever comes there is never a time He is not working to bring knowledge of His provision of Salvation to everyone that seeks to know the truth. He is sure to bring His children safely to the place He has prepared for us. Look up, for I believe Jesus soon returns for His bride.
Normal means different to some, But it means things as usual are done. What is normal in your life? Do you place first Christ? When life is upside down and nothing seems the same, Is it normal to put trust in Jesus and to praise His name? Or is it normal to worry, fret, and stew; Grumbling and complaining in all happening to you? Is your new normal going to make positive change in your day? Enjoying some of the simple things and tossing bad habits away? Will your positive outlook on things good and true, Be now a positive new part of you? Will you look now at your neighbor and truly listen when he speaks? Will your new normal see the man destitute living on the streets? Will the sound of life-noises like laughter be embraced? So the dog-eat-dog snarl does not mar your face. What is the new normal? Is it as the days and times dictate to go? Or will it be as the Word of God pours into your soul?
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
