Another Fence Crossed By Brenda Drake

Old habits are hard to break, but with God as our teacher, our healer, helper, and guide we are able to crucify the sinful ways of our fleshly desires.  Each decision to die to self to follow in the footsteps of Jesus separates us from the worlds influence.

Another Fence Crossed
By Brenda Drake

Fences are erected to separate two sides apart.
It is wise to erect a fence of protection in your heart.
The fence is really a line of right and wrong.
In your heart you know the side you belong.
But so many walk the line; so close it is unclear,
To the outward eye what is to them most dear.
God has no problem seeing what is in the heart.
He always encourages to a right path start.
To walk in Jesus’ steps you will find,
He never walks the line.
His footsteps travel far from the ways the world trod.
If you follow after Him you walk the ways of God.
When you are wise each step you take sets you more apart,
From the world’s influence that hampers the heart.
Another fence is crossed, closer and closer to the place,
Where you will walk victoriously through heaven’s gate.

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

 Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me

Why Can They Not See? By Brenda Drake

There is good and there is evil. There is only one that we choose as our master.  When Jesus is Master we need to follow in His footsteps.  There should be a clear picture of who we belong too.  We wonder why people do not see Jesus; perhaps it is because we cannot see how we are portraying Him.

Why Can They Not See?

Why do My children quarrel, grumble, and complain?
Do they not realize they bring dishonor to their claim?
Why do they get hurt so easily; their feelings all tender and sore?
Do they believe they are not to die-to-self anymore?
Why are hearts hard, with built up walls of mistrust?
Why can they not see they defeat the way of the just?
Why do they pick apart instead of building each other up high?
They do not see they tear themselves apart to become dead and dry.
Love one another, is My command; as you love your own soul.
Put away the warring tools of the devil: you must let them go.
Throw unpleasant and the jealous spirits aside.
Sing a joyful song and with harmony abide.
Place others first and you will see,
That you behave the way God intend you to be.

Romans 6:13
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Cause Yourself By Brenda Drake

            We pray, “Lord make me more like You.”  However we need to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and purpose our life to be more like Him.  We need to follow the example Jesus set before us.  When we determine to obey God’s Word He is able to use our life to help others.  He is able show His great presence in our everyday circumstances.

Cause Yourself

Cause your heart to help carry another’s load, that you see,
Is heavy burdened; help set them free.
Cause your lips to say the prayer that will help them through.
Ask and you will receive as the Scriptures teach to speak the truth.
Cause your hands to reach out to one in distress.
Pull them out of danger, as in God’s strength you rest.
Cause your feet to walk with them a little way;
As they learn to go forward, and to on the right path stay.
Cause your eyes to warm them with the fires of love.
Allow your arms to hold them for your God above.
Cause yourself to be the one that does as Jesus would do;
If you do, He will reveal Himself to others through you.

Psalms 143:8
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Job 5:8
I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:

1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Follow Me By Brenda Drake

            The words Follow me is the greatest invitation we can get.  Jesus does not promise us a rose garden but He does promise us eternal life with Him.  He gives us all we need to arrive victorious.  What is of most importance is our answer when He says, follow me?

Follow Me

Follow me, says the Father in the footsteps of the Son.
To flow in the Spirit you arrive on time to get the good work done.
Be as trusting as a child as you obey,
Fully confident to on the right path stay.
With faith and trust in the One you adore,
Wear the armor provided; supplied by the Lord.
The way is cleared, the enemy takes flight,
When you are surrounded and covered with God’s favor and light.
Keep your eyes on the Truth; He is The Way, and Life.
No matter the surroundings keep God’s Word in sight.
Seek the Word, speak the Word, and draw the Word near,
In prayer and in deed; live-it loud and clear.
Come let us continue this journey of the heart.
Fully rest in the Savior, who has wooed you from the start.
There is a work to be done.  God is your strength within.
You must encourage others to their life-journey begin,
To draw others to the One who sets captives free,
So they too are able to hear God’s Spirit say, “Come, follow me.”

Matthew 4:19
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

John 8;12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Ephesians 6:13-17
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Get Up, the Two Word Sermon By Brenda Drake

Sometimes life can just get us down.  The key is to not stay down. It may seem a little like tough-love, but the best advice sometimes is to just get up and keep going.  Of course we have God as our help.  He is ever ready to hear and to answer our prayers.  He lifts our heart and clears our mind; so we are able to get up and follow after Him.

Get Up, the Two-Word Sermon

When life gets you down, you need to do one thing;
Get up, and continue serving your King.
When you are tired and weary, there is no other choice,
Get up and pray, in thanksgiving lift your voice.
When anger or fear or even bitterness takes its toll,
Get up to change your viewpoint; God is in control.
Get up when you are lazy, do that good thing for another,
When hungry or thirsty, get up and read God’s Word, and you will discover,
Your hunger is satisfied, and the thirst is quenched.
When you are ashamed or guilty, get up and quickly repent.
When Jesus healed the lame man, He gave him a project to do;
He said, get up and remember what God has done for you.
Peter’s mother-in-law was very ill and sick in bed;
Jesus healed her and she in turn got up and the disciples fed.
The young girl was asleep, and was brought back to life;
She got up, to her parents delight.
Get up and get busy doing whatever needs to be done;
And you also will be a glory to Jesus God’s Son

Job 17:9
The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
