New Found Freedom Brenda Drake

It is strange but the fear of losing our freedom if we give Christ our life is the complete opposite as the truth. In Christ we have new freedom, we have true freedom.  We are no longer bound in sin’s chains; and are freed to live free from the threat of eternal death in hell.

New Found Freedom

Many believe there is a great list to follow to belong to Christ.
They feel it take great effort and that they lose all their rights.
A list of do not’s loom in their mind,
And a very hard taskmaster to keep them in line.
Some say, I will wait till I’ve had my fill
Then I’ll give in and do God’s will.
When I’m old and tired – it will be easier then,
Besides, if I go now I will lose all my friends.
But the One that loves them more than they can see,
Says, if you come now My strength you receive;
The terrible hold of sin’s chains will be released.
You will experience great inner peace.
New found freedom is more satisfying than you know,
For Jesus died to make you new and whole.
The list of do’s and don’ts are not an issue anymore,
For you will very much desire to please your Lord.
If you cross the line, you’re anxious to change direction for Him,
As you repent you’ve found freedom again.
Free to worship, free to praise, free to live without fear,
Free to know and to show your God is near.
The one that listens and hears what the Spirit says will see,
They have new found freedom in Me

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32

Taste of Freedom By Brenda Drake

            We struggle to keep and fight for our freedom to live our lives without censorship, and unnecessary, weighty-control.  God gives us freedom to choose Jesus’ sacrifice in our behalf, or to choose to pay our debt of sin on our own.  The truest taste of freedom is when a soul is set free from the bondage of sin.

Taste of Freedom

The sweet taste of freedom many yearn to savor;
Where there is harmony and peace and God’s favor.
Then there are those unknowingly let it go,
Little by little it disappears, painlessly slow.
Some are blinded by the process and cannot see,
Until it is almost too late to be reprieved.
Come into the place,
Where freedom lives under God’s hand of grace.
You are free from the debt of sin;
It has been taken care of by Him.
You are free to worship and set free to sing,
The songs of salvation of Christ Jesus the King.
You are free in spirit even in the world’s woes;
Free indeed in heart, mind, and soul.
Set free to express and to share,
With a world in bondage the truth, God truly cares.
The sweet taste of freedom is greater when God heals the land.
All the glory comes from and is delivered back to I AM as planned.

Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound

2 Chronicles  7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

When Freedom has Lost Her Touch

I love freedom.  I pray for our freedoms to remain. I am very thankful I need never
lose the freedom that God has placed within.

When Freedom has Lost Her Touch

When freedom’s touch no longer remains,
All that is left it just the name.
The land of the free and the home of the brave,
Will have lost the battle and the progress it made.
When freedom has lost her touch you will be,
The land that once was free.
Stand up for her; for her fight;
In her arms of protection delight.
Honor her, encourage her to stay.
Get on your heart’s knees and for her pray.
Join together and remember her good qualities again.
Sing her praises with the freedom that lives within.
In God we trust; this is the key.
Because of His favor we are set free.
Free to worship, free to live life,
Free to choose to bring honor to Christ.
When freedom has lost her touch remember one thing,
Never must the heart be set free from the freedom found in Him.

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Taste of Freedom By Brenda Drake

I love, enjoy and appreciate the liberties we experience in our Nation.  At times it feels as if they are rapidly slipping through our fingers.  My prayer is that God heals our land.  But there is a freedom to be enjoyed that tastes sweeter by far!  .

2 Timothy  1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Taste of Freedom

The sweet taste of freedom many yearn to savor;
Where there is harmony and peace and God’s favor.
Then there are those have unknowingly let it go;
Little by little: painlessly, acceptably slow.
Some are blinded by the process and cannot see;
 Until it is too late to be reprieved.
Come into the place
Where freedom lives under God’s hand of grace.
You are set free from the debt of sin.
It has been taken care of by Him.
You are free to worship and set free to sing,
Songs of salvation to honor Christ the King.
You are free in spirit; even in the world of woes,
For you are free indeed in heart, mind and soul.
Set free to fully express and to share,
With a world in bondage the truth that God truly cares.
The sweet taste of freedom is greater when God heals the land.
All glory comes from and is delivered back to the God I AM.

John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The Measure that is True By Brenda Drake

We have a tendency to look at how far we need to go to be like Jesus.  The evil one is sure to point out everything that does not measure up.  Our worth needs to be seen by the light of the Word of God.  When we allow God’s truth inside, it indeed will set us free.
The truth is God loved us before we loved Him.  Jesus died to set us free from the bondage of sin.  The truth is…. Grace saves us, not our own goodness.  We are saved by Jesus’s work on the cross, not by our own works of the flesh.
When we compare ourselves with others, we may come away feeling condemned and greatly lacking.  When we measure ourselves by the sacrifice on our behalf, we will know that God loves every person with the same passion.  We do not need to feel inferior or jealous of another again.

The Measure That Is True

Measure yourself not by others, but from where you have come.
Do not look at another to see how well you have done.
For always, you will see the example that makes you feel small.
The most important thing is God loves all.
You are just as large in His sight as the one you so admire.
You are dressed in the very same attire.
The same robe of righteousness was placed upon each back.
When you have accepted Jesus, you have no lack.
Measure what you are by the only measure that is true.
The measure of your worth is the work of the One that died for you.
In the Father’s eyes, He sees you tall and pure.
There is no need to fear when you are in God secured.
See how far you have come – the great changes that have taken place.
The old man is no more; you are born anew under grace.
Love one another and appreciate how far they have come too.
Be glad and rejoice for you both in the same Spirit move.

Ephesians 4:4-7
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
