As Close as a Breath by Brenda Drake

God is everywhere and is barred from nowhere.  But He is a gentleman and will not force His love upon us. However He is constant in His pursuit to woo us to see and to hear the truth that sets us free to become a part of His kingdom forever.

As Close as a Breath

There are some truths that are difficult to see,
Until they are revealed to thee.
The world’s eyes are open to things upside down,
They run toward tomorrow on uneven ground.
Jesus is the Truth and He is the Way.
He is the Light that proves He is the Word portrayed.
Even one with no eyes can see the way,
For they can see the way by faith.
Those who walk on life’s path,
Can follow Jesus but not know exactly where they are at,
And yet they will arrive right on time.
In the right place as God designed.
The one deaf can still hear God speak,
In the stillness; God communicates with hearts that seek.
When hearts are opened to truth the once dead are alive.
The realness of God’s presence enters inside.
He is as close as a breath,
He is the door to true life at death.
Breathe in God’s presence and when you do,
Breathe out in Jesus name all the promises the Word says is true.

Job 33:4
The Spirit of God hath made me,
and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

2 Thessalonians 3:5
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God,
and into the patient waiting for Christ.

As a Flowing Stream By Brenda Drake

I know what it felt like when I was lost and thirsty for the truth. I was dry unfruitful and very unsatisfied with life.  Now that I am filled with God’s Word, it feels like rivers of living-water flowing within me. I love to share the good news of God’s Word with others.

As a Flowing Stream

Streams of water flow down a hill
To another waterway fill.
The river flows on to another place,
Soaking parched soil along the banks.
On and on it distributes its life giving flow;
So the grass, flowers, and trees are able to grow.
This also is true of God’s care from above.
He flows into your life a river of His love.
Come to the banks of His goodness and drink some more,
Of the sweet-waters provided by your Lord.
Just as rivers flows onward, so must you my friend.
Continue to show others the way to Him.
To be one with God and to flow His way;
Drink-in God’s Word and its precepts obey
The more you consume, your flowing stream overflows
To share with others the truths you know

John 7:38
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Proverbs 18:4
The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

Isaiah 58:11
And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

The Measure that is True By Brenda Drake

We have a tendency to look at how far we need to go to be like Jesus.  The evil one is sure to point out everything that does not measure up.  Our worth needs to be seen by the light of the Word of God.  When we allow God’s truth inside, it indeed will set us free.
The truth is God loved us before we loved Him.  Jesus died to set us free from the bondage of sin.  The truth is…. Grace saves us, not our own goodness.  We are saved by Jesus’s work on the cross, not by our own works of the flesh.
When we compare ourselves with others, we may come away feeling condemned and greatly lacking.  When we measure ourselves by the sacrifice on our behalf, we will know that God loves every person with the same passion.  We do not need to feel inferior or jealous of another again.

The Measure That Is True

Measure yourself not by others, but from where you have come.
Do not look at another to see how well you have done.
For always, you will see the example that makes you feel small.
The most important thing is God loves all.
You are just as large in His sight as the one you so admire.
You are dressed in the very same attire.
The same robe of righteousness was placed upon each back.
When you have accepted Jesus, you have no lack.
Measure what you are by the only measure that is true.
The measure of your worth is the work of the One that died for you.
In the Father’s eyes, He sees you tall and pure.
There is no need to fear when you are in God secured.
See how far you have come – the great changes that have taken place.
The old man is no more; you are born anew under grace.
Love one another and appreciate how far they have come too.
Be glad and rejoice for you both in the same Spirit move.

Ephesians 4:4-7
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
