A Son That Serves By Brenda Drake

It is easier to picture ourselves as a servant to Christ than it is to imagine that we are actually now sons and daughters of the Creator of the Universe and beyond.  Our inheritance is more than our minds can grasp and so much more than we could ever deserve.

A Son That Serves

As you accept the call to service – you align with God’s plan.
You are entering a Blessed and Holy land.
When you humble yourself to do God’s will;
You have placed yourself in service to His mission fulfill.
You agreed to be ruled by the labor of love;
A willing servant of God above.
In turn you are placed at His side;
When life’s battle is over with Him you forever abide.
God’s love is forever, your earthly service is put to rest;
Shared with you is all possessed.
The Angels rejoice at what they see done;
As servant is raised to be with God as one.
All creation strains to share in the rejoicing as they behold man,
In the honorable place the Father has planned.
Each are marked as His and it is seen plain,
That though they come in service, Sons they forever remain.

Isaiah 1:19
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,even to them that believe on his name:

I John 3:1-3
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not

I John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

He Sees the Sparrow Fall By Brenda Drake

When we look at all the many needs in our troubled world, we feel so out of control.   It is wonderful to remember God is in control.  He gives us assurance of His love and provisions in the Word of God and has given us the gift of prayer.  He never looks away. What have we to fear?

He Sees the Sparrow Fall

Love hears every despairing call,
He feels every need, He sees even the sparrow fall.
Every desire, hope, and dream is known,
Each one is felt as His own.
Every sad, worry line upon the face,
Father God desires to erase.
The mountain in your path, halting your success;
Is leveled before you as faith is confessed.
The stance of the enemy towering in threatening ways,
Cowers in fear at the heart that sings God’s praise.
The seemingly mundane, everyday walk of life,
Is a picture of magnificence in the eyes of Christ.
Lift your voice and like a bird fly free,
Sing words of love, hope, and victory.
In expectation remember the love of the Lord,
Steadily, and confidently walk forward.
If in danger and attacked for doing right
And all begins to fall low in your sight.
Remember God is listening for your prayer.
Lift up your eyes and remember how much He cares.

Luke 12:7
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Bullied by the Accuser By Brenda Drake

Before I knew the grossness and the penalty of sin I had very little guilty feelings, but aftertruly desired to live right, I was harassed with feelings of inadequacy to measure up to God’s Word.   One day the Lord showed me the absurdity of this.  He loved and died for me before I loved Him. Why now when I love Him would He love me less?  He would never need the help of His enemy to tell me what I need to do.

Bullied by the Accuser

The enemy points out small infractions and paints them,
Seemingly into large, gross, unforgivable sins.
He lays condemnation upon you as a burden to pack;
He keeps piling things heavy on your back.
He points out everything to cause you shame,
He loves to accuse and enjoys casting blame.
Critical, unloving, and judgmental without any grace,
He brings before you anything to disgrace.
The accuser has no right to blame you anymore;
For your every transgression is covered by the Lord.
Your worth is not measured by what you do or do not do.
Your worth is measured by who dwells inside of you.
If your own heart convicts thee;
Take heed but do not be bullied by the enemy.
He does not point out sin to those that he easily tempts,
He accuses the ones who desire to obey and repent.
For if he can persuade them they are still full of sin.
He causes great discouragement in them.
Walk each day doing the best you can.
Do the work of God the best you understand.
If you sin, quickly repent in prayer,
And know you are forgiven for your God truly cares.
When you hear a taunt that will not cease its noise in your ear,
Rebuke it and turn away from it and it will not stay near.
One day you will behold the one that caused your heart and mind so much strife.
And you will see how pitiful and how weak he is beside your Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelations 12:8
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
