The Works of His Hand By Brenda Drake

        2020 has been quite a year… Soon starts the New Year I pray 2021 is happy and prosperous for all of you.  I truly believe God is good, and all the time I know God is good.

The Works of His Hand

Watch and see the hand of the Lord in the days ahead.”
Remember and rejoice at all the prophets have said.
Know the One that rules the earth has the last say.
Soon you see His intervention displayed.
Watch the peoples that did not see,
Turn their face to me.
Watch hearts cold as ice,
Look in favor at Jesus’ sacrifice.
The lukewarm their choice makes too.
Some will with great power move.
Watch and see the enemies of the cross,
Wander in fear, completely at loss.
Eyes are blinded by the Light;
Some come in wonder and cease to fight.
Others will know defeat has come;
All seeing eyes know Gods will is done.
Watch and pray in faith lift your voice in prayer.
Be sure to your faith with others share.
Watch and see your heart open up wider still.
Complete in the knowledge you walk in God’s will.
Heaven rejoices at God’s plan;
They know His goodness and trust in the work of His hands.

Psalms 145:5-11
I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty,
and of thy wondrous works.
 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts:
and I will declare thy greatness.
 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness,
and shall sing of thy righteousness.
 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion;
slow to anger, and of great mercy.
 The Lord is good to all:
and his tender mercies are over all his works.
 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord;
and thy saints shall bless thee.
 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom,
and talk of thy power;

Gift Most Magnificent By Brenda Drake

Have you kind of lost the Christmas Spirit this year?  I know it has been a hard year with many ups and downs; but Christmastime is a most magic time of year.  Place all that is bothering you in Christ’s hands.  Allow Him to bring peace and joy to your celebrations with family and friends.

Most Magnificent Gift

The whole world observes the birth of Christ;
But not all welcome Him in their life.
They may decorate a tree
And place a star above to see,
But do not acknowledge Jesus died on a tree for them;
Some think the story of the wisemen was just a legend.
They pass out gifts extravagant and plain;
Without honoring the One most magnificent to the earth came.
He arrived as a precious gift wrapped in human skin.
He was holy and proclaimed King by those who beheld Him.
As the day approaches, that is set aside to bring God glory,
Watch for the profit that comes in the Christmas story.
You live in a trying time with small pleasures along the way.
But know, the babe celebrated, lived, died, and rose is alive and well today.
He sits at the Father’s side observing things great and small.
In the hearts of the wise, they know He sees it all.
Come and bow down at the feet of the One you adore;
Know, one day every knee will bow and declare Jesus is Lord.

Luke 2:10-11
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Philippians 2:10-11
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Thanks for the Little Things By Brenda Drake

Thanks for the Little Things

As I sit in my favorite chair ready to praise the Lord,
I begin to think of all I am thankful for.
Some things quickly come to mind:
Like food, clothing, shelter and fun family times,
The simple things we take for granted each day,
Like the allotted time we take to pray,
The hot cup of coffee sweetened to taste,
The precious luxury of a warm, inviting place,
The fun times with family and friends,
And the meaningful, loving conversations with them,
For Church family that spreads across many miles,
And messages from God’s Word that causes hearts to smile.
As I write down my thoughts of all I’m thankful for,
I see countless blessings received from the Lord.
As I get ready for our big day planned,
 When our family partakes God’s provisions prepared by my hand;
A Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings….my diet is to be crashed
But also I am thankful God and my family loves me even if I’m fat!

Psalms 92:1
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praise
unto thy name, O most High:

I am Thankful By Brenda Drake

This is the time of year we remember our many blessings.  I will praise God for all He has done and all He is yet to do.  He is worthy of all thanks and praise.

I am Thankful

 I am thankful for freedom to worship the Lord above
And for His many provisions of love.
I am grateful for freedom and the freedom deep within.
I have so much to be thankful for, it is hard to know where to begin.
My family, friends, provisions of food to share,
Clothing and the countless blessings of life unaware.
Such as restoration of body, and peace of mind,
And so many more treasures left for us to find.
I am thankful God hears our prayer,
And that He is of all things fully aware.
I am thankful for the teachings of the Word true and right:
That, things are brought to light, and He our battle fights.
When we gather together with table laden with good things to share,
Remember with me to be thankful God answers prayer.
Pray with confidence and with heart humble and bowed low,
In faith believe our Country is in His merciful hold.
Look up with joy and step forth in faith to say,
Lord, Thy will be done: and then go on to enjoy your day.

Psalms 9:1-4
I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in thee:
I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
When mine enemies are turned back,
they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
 For thou hast maintained my right and my cause;
thou satest in the throne judging right.

Keep Going By Brenda Drake

People cannot easily persuade us we are mistaken when we are convinced we heard a mission from God.  The sure guide of the Word of God and the sweet inner witness will steady our step.  Trust and faith in God’s love and ability helps us set our gaze to reach the goal ahead.

Keep Going

Set your gaze do not look right or left,
Be steady in your gait; do not slow your step.
The fixed eye will not fail to see obstacles in the path,
Knowing they have access to God’s workers to clear the tracks.
They that are in prayer communication will barely need to pause.
For they have the advantage of the ear and arm of God.
If God directs, no one is able to stop them from going through.
There is no limit to His ability to His mission do.
So when you set yourself in motion to obey God’s command.
Do not listen to those that discourage your God-given plan.
God does not send unfavorable helpers to cause distress.
Instead He sends an encouraging word such as this.
A heartening word that assures you are right on track.
So keep going, Go forth do not in fear turn back.

Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee:be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness

Psalms 27:1-3
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear:

Expectancy is Another Word for Faith By Brenda Drake

I used to expect trouble, kind of like Murphy’s Law.  I expected to fail, and I did.  I have since learned to hope for what God’s Word says.  I expect the God that loved us so much He died for our sins to finish the work He started.  I no longer live anticipating bad news; I am living the Good News watching and expecting for God’s provision and His intervention.

Expectancy is Another Word for Faith

My hope for the future is colored bright.
I expect wrongs will be changed to right.
In every difficult step we take
I expect new strength in renewed faith.
Hope and expectation holds unto faith’s hand.
The three unite to accomplish God’s plan.
Just as we hope for a child, we in faith expect,
Our beautiful God-given gift.
Love grants what we have faith to receive.
God gave all we can hope for to set us free.
When down in the dumps and hope and expectancy is low;
Faith in God’s love lifts me up and it will not let me go.
Hope is renewed like a fresh rain on parched ground,
And expectancy for God’s favor again is found.
Faith looks up and will not look back
God’s love again, pulls hope, expectation, and faith; united back on track.

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

The Wise Know Where their Strength Comes By Brenda Drake

With all that we need to face in our world: all the seemingly upside-down moralities, the real and the imagined divisions, and the very different visions for our future, the wise know Who it is that really is in control.

The Wise Know Where their Strength Comes

David faced Goliath with stone in hand and faith within.
He faced the giant because He knew God was with him.
Samson was strong with power;
But He became foolish and his victory was soured.
Both tell a story all need to see.
Both from God got their strength.
From king to pauper both the same;
Need the favor of God to remain.
From small nation to large nation they too,
Needs God’s favor to carry through.
Wise are those that know from with their strength comes.
Wise are those who pray God’s will be done.
Just like David stood against the enemy tall;
Just like Samson pulled down on the enemy the walls;
Just like Jesus that stands for right;
You too have the strength and can stand ready to evil fight.
Just like Esther, bride of the king,
As You see the enemy destroyed your heart will sing.
Just like Mary you are ready to pour,
All that you are, in worship to your Lord.

Psalms 28:6-9
Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:
therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
and with my song will I praise him.
The Lord is their strength,
and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Save thy people,
and bless thine inheritance:
feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

Faith Walking By Brenda Drake

1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

            It is not always fun or easy but I have never, in looking back, been disappointed in the eventual outcome of my faith walk. God turns hard struggles into victory; although it may not look or feel like victory at the time, it is later evident God was leading and guiding to the way that was best.

Faith Walking

Let us talk about faith, what does it mean?
Faith walking is to the natural man an extreme.
Most feel they must see the direction they take,
With eyes are wide open for safety’s sake.
To see obstacles that causes them to fall down;
To see the enemies that is around.
Faith walking may seem as extreme as I have said.
Walking in faith you do not make your own way – you are led.
You must have complete trust in the One that helps you along.
If you stumble, you need to trust, that He, in you is strong.
When there is danger you need to believe no harm
Destroys, for you know the One that guides your arm.
To the world it is foolish to allow another to be in control of you.
To most… to walk in faith is called a fool.
The ones that think they see, blindly walks into the enemy’s snare.
They are being led astray, though they are unaware.
Faith walkers believe God is in perfect control
Even if only bad circumstances they behold
Faith walkers know Jesus loves their life more than they do.
He calls, Come, my chosen, I faith-walk with you.

Psalms 4:8
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

Prayer
I walk ahead knowing You lead and guide my path.  My steps are ordered by the Lord. If God be for me who can be against me?

Pray the Answer By Brenda Drake

Prayer is a two way street.  We make our requests known to our Lord, and we seek His will above our desire. When we believe He has heard we are assured He answers in the way best and in His time.  When we are still, He reveals His will to our Spirit by the Word of God and in His inner witness within us.  He gives us peace and directs how to pray with victory the answer to our prayer.

Pray the Answer

Pick up your countenance lift up your face,
The answer to your prayers embrace.
Pray the answer, pray with all your might,
It turns from prayer to praise causing the heart delight.
Praise the Lord for His intervention, no matter what comes.
Pray the answer…Lord Thy will be done.
Fervently take hold the horn of the altar and do not let go.
Like a lion roar from the inner place in your heart and soul,
Make a stand and wait for your help comes.
Stand sure braced in your armor…victory is done.
Watch as the enemy begins to fear;
They will attack each other as your help comes near.
Pick up your countenance prove to whom you belong.
You may feel weak…but surely you are in Christ strong.

Matthew 21:20-22
Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Be Still By Brenda Drake

     When overcome with the troubles and trials of this world there is a place where we can find the sweet atmosphere we need to face our world with God’s strength within.

Be Still

When you desire to be carried to the sweet place of peace;
Where the inner hearing’s ability is increased,
When God’s thoughts enter the receptive attentive heart,
And every worldly care departs,
Nothing else matters – no one… not one thing;
For every fiber of your being is brought before the King.
Take a deep breath…let it out slow,
Allow His love to fill you – body, mind and soul.
Even the air smells sweeter in this place,
As you are wrapped in the comfort of His embrace.
Lovely songs of praise well up from within,
To give praise as you worship Him.
There’s value in this place – it overflows with power and might;
As the loving attitude in God delights.
Jesus will be revealed and His name is lifted high.
That you are His cannot be denied.
The sweet inner peace has you so filled,
Your countenance will show the value of “before God being still”

Psalms 63:5-6
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:  When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Psalms 46:10-11
Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge
