The Promised One

So great are the promises to the redeemed. Our minds spin at the beauty of a love that chose to die to make us one with Him.  My heart aches in anticipation as I watch for the return of Jesus, the Promised One.

The Promised One

The One that loves more than the mind can comprehend,
Is the One that created the world and beyond for Him.
He that is perfect selects for Himself a bride,
Someone perfected to rule and reign at His side.
He who takes the imperfect and makes them new and whole,
Is, perfectly and completely in full control.
The promises are too numerous to count;
So great, so powerful is the amount.
So pure, so true, and wonderful are the blessings prepared,
Many are the jewels God wants to share.
A promising future, a clean slate for the past,
A joy that will an eternity last,|The Promise Giver is the Promised One,
Given to the world and to a part of humanity become.
Fully God and yet fully man.
The Promise of Life eternal ….great is God’s plan.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Make a Splash By Brenda Drake

September 22 page in my daily devotion book God’s Whispers to the Heart available on Amazon.

Whisper: Make a difference, take a stand for good.

1 Peter 4:10 -11
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever.

Colossians 4:5
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Make a Splash

Stir the waters make a splash.
In the dark seas of the world let others know where you are at.
Speak out against sin,
Use your words to glorify God again.
In this place of liberty harsh winds may still blow,
But in the storm remember the One who is in control.
Exercise the freedom of speech while you can.
Redeem the time; for God’s principals stand.
There is a time to be peaceful; to go with the flow;
This is the time to speak against the evil that threatens your soul.
Be bold in the authority and in the strength of Christ.
Make a difference in the surroundings of your life.
Make a difference; make a stand for good right where you are at.
Stir up the waters in your world make a splash!

I will boldly stand and say I am a follower of Christ; I believe and adhere to the Word of God.

Precious Seed in Earthen Vessels By Brenda Drake

This is a poem from my soon to be released book on Amazon Love Makes a Way.

When we begin to think little of ourselves it is good to remember how valuable we are in the eyes of our heavenly Father.  He sent Jesus to earth to die for you and me.  When we have accepted His provision we are one with Him and are now His precious seeds.

Precious Seed in Earthen Vessels

Precious seed in an earthen vessel was placed,
There is no greater example of amazing grace.
Amazing is this fact but more amazing is the plan;
The enormity of its wisdom, and the far-reach of its hand.
Jesus the Son of God was into His creation formed;
Fully God, but fully man in the earth realm born.
Precious seed in an earthen vessel placed,
In wonder is the thought when truth is embraced.
What kind of love is this that has been done?
God is born to be the sacrifice for all who would come.
Holy precious seed of life placed flesh within;
Born to grow up to die for all man’s sin.
But when He rose from the tomb that day,
He took the sting of death away.
For those who will the truth know,
For those who will accept His provision for their soul,
Precious seed enters and another wonder takes place.
You are born anew… such amazing grace.

John 17:21
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Gentle Breeze of God’s Care By Brenda Drake

#check out my new devotional God’s Whispers to the Heart by Brenda Drake on Amazon. $2.99 Kindle $17.00 paperback. A good time to start a New Year!

The love of God is everywhere.  There is not one thing that can touch our life that He does not desire to help us through.  His love is constant; all we need to do is to know this is so.  Jesus provided the way for us to have a forever-touch of His presence.

 Gentle Breeze of God’s Care

The sun rises and sets each day;
Clouds in the sky are on full display,
With colors bright, subtle, angry red to cool blue;
Great is the display of the world of worlds all around you.
From the world of tiny insects, to the hungry lion that prowls;
From the song of the smallest bird; to the loudest growl;
Every thought and every word is known; good and bad the same;
Every high and exulted name that is proclaimed;
Every deed in progress at any time of day,
Does not pass by: not anything is lost to God’s gaze.
All our opinions and theories of wrong and what is right;|
Everything is known by Him and is clear in His sight.
The truth is God is I AM.
There is nothing barred from Him in the land.
God chooses His limitations -He is in full control.
There is not anything that He does not know.
He gives us freedom to choose to love God above,
Or, to choose to reject His great love.
The gentle breeze of God’s care,
Is always available, it is continuously there.
He sent Jesus, His Son to die to save us from sin’s grasp.
He planned complete salvation and all He asks,
Is for us to believe and to trust in Him complete;
So we can know how truly beautiful life can be.

Psalms s 93:1
The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

Gifts Accepted By Brenda Drake

Gifts Accepted

What would you think if someone received your gift,
And then attempted to pay for it?
You would think it silly and a waste,
If they insist, to the giver they cause disgrace.

God by Jesus’ sacrifice has offered you many things;
Countless gifts of promise He brings.
The greatest promise is Salvation for the soul.
Because of what Jesus did you are whole.
It is done, it is finished; you need only to believe.
Salvation is sure when it is received.

To give thanks and praise is all you need to do.
So great is this gift bestowed on you.
You cannot repay the Master for Salvation.
You cannot earn what He has done.
His love extended to die in your place.
Great is the gift of grace.

Under grace’s cover there are more gifts bestowed;
They are of much more valuable than silver or gold.
Gifts of guidance, provision, and care,
Gifts of His peace and joy are also with you shared.
The gift of accountability as He takes control,
Gifts of knowledge are shared to enrich and make you whole.
To worry or fear, at what lie ahead, is to try to a gift pay.
For it states God is unable to do as He says.
Accept His gift, rest in His love and care for thee,
Then you are walking in the gift of life with the spirit free.

Romans 3:24
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Prayer
Forgive me when I worry, I know You are able to lead and guide my path.  Thank You for Your wonderful, generous gifts of love and provision. I will forever be grateful for the wonderful gift of Salvation!

The Pull of Love By Brenda Drake

God is love.  He is always drawing us to Him.  In everything He displays the glory of His love.  I saw His love when I perceived Jesus dying on the cross to save my sin-sick soul.   His creation in every way reveals the great magnitude of His love .  We behold love as we study the Word, and while basking in His presence; in prayer, worship and praise.  I now am able to experience the sure love-touch of God; through those who demonstrate His saving power in their life.

The Pull of Love

The powerful pull of love is strong as steel.
It if genuine it is very real.
Real love, loves unconditionally; but at the same time,
It holds up the high standard God designs.
Man is lower than the angel, but is destined to be,
A heir with God, throughout eternity.
Only God’s love could lift us up this high.
It is only possible because of Jesus’ blood sacrifice.
He generously extends affection each day.
He freely gives so we in turn also give it away.
Worldly kinds of love causes possession to occur,
When  held too tight progress is deterred.
Harsh words or hard thoughts, that scream in protest,
Is not the God-kind-of-love Jesus professed.
However, love through the revelation of God’s Son,
Is longsuffering, and generous when all is done.
Humble and respectful attitudes will one day reap great reward.
Only this kind of love will in God’s kingdom continue forward.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Dying Love By Brenda Drake

We have heard of undying love and have witnessed examples of love that has withered- up and died.  But what I desire to expound on is the Love that died to prove His undying love for us. Such love is almost impossible to wrap our minds around but we can and must grasp onto its truth before we can be a part of its magnificence.

Dying Love

When we think of dying love it is sad:
We think of a love that has lost the fervor it once had.
When it is dead it is tossed aside;
It stinks and causes hurt and bitterness inside.
Love is precious; it is a gift to treasure.
When nurtured and kept in high honor it causes great pleasure.
I tell of another love that is greater than any other kind.
Its magnitude and breadth could blow your mind.
This love was sacrificed to set you free.
It chose to die on a rugged tree.
This love did not diminish in its act.
Although it poured out, it draws us back.
Jesus loved enough to pay the sin-debt we could never pay.
His love encompasses us tight so we would not be tossed away.
God so loved the world He gave His own Son,
So whosoever-will, would believe to also love come.
Dying love takes on a whole new meaning for you see,
True love is a forever gift from God to thee.
Dying to self-will to serve Jesus is to also serve others.
Then His self-sacrificing kind of love is discovered.

1 John 4:19-21
We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.-

Motivated by Love By Brenda Drake

Because Jesus loved us enough to help us in our greatest need, we are equipped with the ability to express sacrificial love to assist others.  When we die to our selfish nature and allow Jesus to rule within us we find we are living life motivated by His love.  It feels so good and satisfying to touch another’s life in the name of Jesus.

Motivated by Love

Obligation motivates – guilt does too
But the best motivation for good is love in you
When you see a need in another’s life
And you have ability to make their burden light,
If you grudgingly do it with a halting step,
The good deed may be appreciated but its motivation isn’t the best
Love rushes in to help without much thought at times;
You are reaching to help before the solution comes to mind.
Love is like the perfume of the rose,
It is like deep thought within the word of prose.
Love’s beauty is recognized right away.
Healing comes when it is conveyed.
A listening ear, a silent prayer,
A simple card or a loving word shared.
When motivated by love the world’s problems still exist,
But the harsh reality is sweetened by motivation such as this.

Ephesians 5:2
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

There is No Distance in Love By Brenda Drake

The word love is thrown about carelessly; but love is more than mere words. Love was offered by our heavenly Father when He sent His Son to die for our sins. True love was demonstrated by Jesus. He spoke His love for man from the cross when He died to pay the debt we could not pay.  He is our example to follow.  When we know who He is we know the truth -God is Love.

There is No Distance in Love

There is no distance in love’s ability to touch another.
It has such a powerful affect, it is left yet undiscovered.
Love abstains from hard-words of condemnation.
It turns about; to reverse adverse confrontations
Our gentle touch is noted by God above;
It is stamped with His approval of love.
Love has silent love-words that only God hears,
Your inner desires and thoughts are very clear.
The world has need to possess, to hoard, and to control,
Everything they desire to have and to hold.
But the God-kind of love is open and free.
He loved you so much He died to set you free indeed.
His desire is for you to love Him so much;
You choose to allow within His touch.
Choose life or choose death; it is all up to you.
The wise will God’s loving provision choose.
Your co-operation with Him will much profit find.
His love flows through you, to another as He designs.
Your prayers, with good words, and loving deeds,
With random acts of kindness; are all kingdom seeds.
There is no distance in love’s ability to touch,
Even in a word of rhyme, are found seeds of His love.

John 15:12-14
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
