Faltering Heart By Brenda Drake

In our limited idea of what love is, we measure God’s love by our faulty kind of love. When things do not feel right, when we are ill, angry and upset, we worry God is disappointed and angry with us.  I am so glad we are wrong.  God is love and our connection with Him is of His eternal kind of love.

Faltering Heart

Sickness, stress, and time-consuming things
That tends to pull away; so the hearts unable to sing.
A heart sick in hunger or the mind too tired to seek,
Cause hearts to falter as the spirit begins to weak.
But God is not tired nor is He sick inside,
To God your connection is strong still, and alive.
Do not worry or fear when these troubling times come.
You are fully connected and a forever part of God’s Son.
You are His beloved, although feelings fall short of where desired to be,
You are in right standing with God and able to His blessings receive.
So come close as you desire and you will discover.
You are one with the One who is your soul’s lover.
Even in the down-times when of faltering heart.
|You are in God’s perfect plan at every day’s new start.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6

Like the Hidden Penny By Brenda Drake

Whisper: You are as the lost coin, You are beautiful and Mine.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Like the Hidden Penny

Like the penny hidden away,
Not valued high …not on display,
Rather plain, and tarnished with time,
Common, like many others in design.
Hidden… among other discarded things
But its destiny was to be in the presence of the King.
Without effort it travels from one drawer to the next.
For quite awhile no one really paid attention to it.
It was so small and dirtied with the world’s touch;
No one but God would pick it up.
But what a wonderful change took place,
When God touched it with His grace.
The world still may wonder what it is they see;
For on the outside, it is not at all what the world wants it to be.
But it has traveled from the rubbish into the high place to stay.
The world was wrong; it is to be on display.
It has been polished to become,
An object that represents the good work of God’s Son,

I am now held in high honor only because of God’s
good work in me.

Steadfast Love By Brenda Drake

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

            We get a revelation of God’s love when we recognize how far we have traveled from where we began.  Great is our joy at the steadfast love of our Lord that keeps watch for things turn out as He desires for us.

Steadfast Love

Steadfast love follows, leads, and guides me to the place;
Where my seeking heart can seek His face.
Never-ending devotion has me in His grasp;
Encouraging me to walk ahead on faith’s path.
Faith that holds on tight.
That gazes ahead with His inner light.
Rock-solid truth is the foundation strong,
The divine hope that bursts into song.
Joyful sounds form within;
With sure knowledge I belong to Him.
His love has wrapped me carefully with His peace,
That surely promise great increase.
Steadfast love lifts me up when times are low;
It paves the way ahead in great comfort to my soul.
Sweet wonder fills me and overflows in the revelation of this.
My God is faithful and true and I am forever His.
Jesus, my Lord and Savior is truth, life, and the way.
He is the Light that shines in my day.
His love and devotion drew me to the place, I was freed.
His love and sacrifice drew me to my knees.
His love lifted me out of sin and shame’s hold.
And places upon me such favor that is yet left untold.
One day soon I will see the desire of my heart arrive,
Steadfast and true to draw me to His side.
Eternally to be with Him a part;
One forever as His bride and to a new journey start.

Hosea 2:19
And I will betroth thee unto me for ever;
yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment,
and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.
