I remember as a child saying sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me.  It is not so.  I have been injured by words many times.  God’s Word heals.  Jesus the Word of God has healed my sin-sick soul.   

In a World of Words

In a world of words what do you hear?
Are they the kind of things that incite anger or fear?
Words that discourage or cause anxiety within,
Are not of value to be allowed in.
In a world of words one word true,
Causes faith to grow inside of you.
Rivers of peace and flowers of joy abound;
With sure direction leading to higher ground.
The word of truth stands tall and will not change direction;
Great is the Word of God’s provisions to prosper from them.
Jesus is the Word of God that spoke from the cross to man,
Directing the way to salvation the Father planned.
In the world of words of lie and deceit;
Where chaos and decisions increase;
Where the right way is painted wrong,
And what God says is evil now belongs.
Where hatred is hidden in cunning expressions,
And love is frivolously or fake in its confession,
Speak God’s Word, live the Word, love words kind and true.
Love Jesus the Word and He will shine through.
In the world of words the One who made all you see and do not see,
Becomes the world to you for all eternity.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
