Do You Love Me? By Brenda Drake

     We profess our love for God, but when we turn away from someone in need, I believe Jesus would also need to ask us again.  Do you love me?

Do You Love Me?

Do you love me, asked the Master three times in one day.
Each time He heard the answer but He asked again anyway.
Each time He asked, Peter’s heart underlined his answer clear.
Jesus desired for Peter to his own heart hear.
When he said “Yes, I love you”
At first it was an automatic response… although true.
The next time he was very aware of his love professed.
But the last time he answered – his heart responded best.
“Feed my sheep” was the Master’s entreaty to Peter each time.
We too need to feed His sheep. For our love to be clearly defined;
We need to also love them, and take extra care,
To deliver the truth and to cover them with prayer.
To feed the sheep is to show respect and as a sacrifice of self;
Listen to them and when they have need… help
Whatever you do for the least of them you do for God above.
Do you love me is the question? How will you prove your love?

John 21:17
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
