Silently Before Him By Brenda Drake

God is as close as a prayer; even closer than this.  We are immediately in His presence.  I love to sit silently at His feet with full knowledge He hears my innermost thoughts. I am very aware of the honor of such liberty.  His love invites me in at any part of the day; whether I am in a melancholy mood or exuberantly talkative.  He likes our company.

Silently Before Him

As I sit silently before my Lord, as I reverently look to Him;
His awesome majesty settles in.
The air smells sweeter and life becomes,
A precious gift that has come,
It is a privilege given to me;
I can in His presence be.
What an honor He bestows,
He looks favorably upon my soul.
Oh songs of praise I desire to sing,
To honor and give glory to Christ my King.
New words need to be created to express the love within;
For it is new every day; eternal, and never ends.
It is as astounding as forever – as I silently rest at His feet,
The love He showers down is inexpressibly sweet.
His smile upon me is like a refreshing drink of holiness,
When I come before Him I feel Heaven’s kiss.

Psalms 63:3
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Like Sweet Perfume By Brenda Drake

The greatest place on earth is in the secret place of worship where Jesus, the Prince of Peace is.  It is a place of such beauty we never desire to depart. As much as we love the special time set aside; Jesus loves our time spent there even more.

Like a Sweet Perfume

Like a sweet perfume poured,
At the feet in honor to the Lord.
My heart’s songs are lifted in silent prayer;
Bowed down, transparent, and fully aware.
The Master is pleased with my gift displayed,
As I receive His answered kiss by faith.
weet is the atmosphere deep inside;
Restored, assured, and fully alive.
Oh heart, do not be stingy with offerings to the One you adore.
Lay every worry, fear, and anxiety at the foot of the Lord.
Allow His sweet acceptance to calm your troubled sea.
Allow His love and provisions to perfume your life sweet.
A sure example of a life blessed;
Fully, wholly, at peace; at rest.
Like sweet perfume in a world filled with rot and decay.
Like a shining bright gem put on display.
Like a jewel of heaven shiny bright;
One with Life, Truth, and The Way; Jesus the Christ.
Nothing more precious can there be,
Than the love displayed for and by His bride redeemed.

2 Corinthians 2:15
For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

Song of Solomon 4:10
How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine!
and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

Be Still By Brenda Drake

When overcome with the troubles and trials of this world there is a place where we can find the sweet atmosphere we need to face our world with God’s strength within.

Be Still

When you desire to be carried to the sweet place of peace;
Where the inner hearing’s ability is increased,
When God’s thoughts enter the receptive attentive heart,
And every worldly care departs,
Nothing else matters – no one… not one thing;
For every fiber of your being is brought before the King.
Take a deep breath…let it out slow,
Allow His love to fill you – body, mind and soul.
Even the air smells sweeter in this place,
As you are wrapped in the comfort of His embrace.
Lovely songs of worship wells up from within,
To give praise as you worship Him.
There is value in this place – it overflows with power and might;
As the loving attitude in God delights.
Jesus will be revealed and His name is lifted high.
That you are His cannot be denied.
The sweet inner peace has you so filled,
Your countenance will show the value of before God “being still”

Psalms 63:5-6
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:  When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Psalms 46:10-11
Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge
