Start the Day Positivity By Brenda Drake

Proverbs 15:13
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance:
but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Have you noticed, sometimes; even before you get out of bed the enemy attempts to fill your mind with the problems, worries, and fears that plagued you yesterday?  It is the best time to practice discipline and with purpose think about the good things God has planned ahead for us.

Start the Day Positively

When you start the day with optimism; much better it will go.
If it begins, in worry and fear; bitterness burdens your soul.
When you resist the temptation to complain
A much better day will remain.
Try singing; even when you feel sad.
Try lifting praise, instead of thinking or saying bad.
Pray for those that cause to your life distress;
Instead of yielding to disharmony and conflict.
Meditate on things worthy, instead of things not right.
You will see a mighty change in your life.
Positivity shows you trust God’s plan.
His colors are brighter than looking through the fears of man.
Live each day, in a way that is as a song you sing,
Signifying a life of love and joy, that attests, you are a child of the King.

Prayer
This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Like a Sweet Perfume By Brenda Drake

The greatest place on earth is in the secret place of worship where Jesus, the Prince of Peace is.  It is a place of such beauty we never desire to depart. As much as we love the special time set aside; Jesus loves our time spent there even more.

Like a Sweet Perfume

Like a Sweet Perfume
Like a sweet perfume poured,
At the feet in honor to the Lord.
My heart’s songs are lifted in silent prayer;
Bowed down, transparent, and fully aware.
The Master is pleased with my gift displayed,
As I receive His answered kiss by faith.
Sweet is the atmosphere deep inside;
Restored, assured, and fully alive.
Oh heart, do not be stingy with offerings to the One you adore.
Lay every worry, fear, and anxiety at the foot of the Lord.
Allow His sweet acceptance to calm your troubled sea.
Allow His love and provisions to perfume your life sweet.
A sure example of a life blessed;
Fully, wholly, at peace; at rest.
Like sweet perfume in a world filled with rot and decay.
Like a shining bright gem put on display.
Like a jewel of heaven shiny bright;
One with Life, Truth, and The Way; Jesus the Christ.
Nothing more precious can there be,
Than the love displayed for His bride redeemed.

2 Corinthians 2:15
For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

Song of Solomon 4:10
How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine!
and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

The Sounds of Prayer By Brenda Drake

I love to enter into the presence of my Lord.  In my times of prayer I know He hears every word I say.  I admit at times I really do not know always how to pray..  Some sound even to my ears more of a complaint.  I am glad God loves to hear my voice, and I am thrilled when in the silence I not only feel His presence but hear the still small voice that brings comfort or peace within.

The Sounds of Prayer

Prayer of some to the listening ear,
Sounds like music…. pleasant to hear.
The words flow like honey sweet;
Full of hope to the situation meet.
Some utter requests haltingly… not quite clear,
Uncertain of the correct words for desires most dear.
Some speak without much flair,
In simple sentences they state their prayers.
Some are prayer warriors… fluent when all alone,
In the privacy of their own home.
Some send up mini-prayers the day throughout,
Commenting on whatever they are feeling or thinking about.
Some ask with a rush of feelings overcome with great emotion.
Some pray automatically with great devotion.
It does not really matter…. do not let it cause concern within.
What matters is Jesus, your Savior, now calls you friend.
He hears every word…and even inspires some words you speak.
But it is hearts words that He really seeks.

Romans 8:26-27
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Comfort in the Midst of Trial By Brenda Drake

     I have found some of my most rewarding times are when it a few moments before prayer I was anxious and downcast in spirit.  God is our very present help in times of trouble.  He hears and answers prayer.  He desires to bring joy and peace and comfort to our souls.

Comfort in the Midst of Trials

Right in midst the trials, in the heat of them,
God’s children can be comforted deep within.
Even in discomfort, you have assurance God is there;
To fully know that He cares.
In days-long where feelings are low;
The Son still shines so that you grow.
When clouds are black and all around in despair,
Trust and know God is just and fair.
When times travels fast and life seems to pass you by;
Choose to look forward to your future on high.
Watch for the narrow way again
He gives strength and the ability to walk the path with Him.
Jesus is truth, life and the way, peace and joys unfold,
He is shining example that leads to streets of gold.
As one, you are His friend to stay
On life’s journey Holy Spirit is your comfort along the way

Psalms 23:1-6
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen
