The Distant Thunder By Brenda Drake

. We need not be afraid but I believe it is wise to be ready when the storms of life threaten us with all its uncertainties. We all need to hear the distant thunder and prepare. With God on our side we have nothing to fear.

The Distant Thunder

There is a great storm coming,
Hear the sound of distant thundering?
Prepare your house; is it built on foundation strong?
Are things in order where it belongs?
When the high winds come are you ready?
Can you withstand the blows hard and steady?
Is there unfinished business you need to attend?
Have you shut up the house with the enemy within?
Is there a good supply food and water to drink that’s pure?
Has your larder been kept clean and secure?
The storm is coming…. make a foundation check
Have you asked Jesus to forgive you and to save you yet?
If so you must renounce the dirty things that stain,
Do not allow any known sin to remain.
For the enemy will steal away every ounce of joy and peace within,
And will taint the good food and water with sin.
Guard the doors with prayer in the power of Jesus’ name.
The Holy Spirit will assist so your life securely remains.
The storms are real but prepared hearts will survive.
For the love and power of Jesus keeps them alive.

Psalms 81:7
Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

James 1:2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Divine Shelter By Brenda Drake

I used to be petrified in storms.  But one day I discovered the One that is in control of the storm provides a safe place for those that place their trust in Him.  Place your trust in Jesus and the fear subsides and peace like a warm blanket will cover and protect your soul.

Divine Shelter

The storm rages ….the troubled sea tosses about;
The mind fills with fear, worry, and doubt.
Why?”  “Where are you?” “What can I do?”
Then…”I’m in trouble Lord I need help from you.”

Your call is always heard ….when in distress,
Your God lifts you to in His hand rest.
The storm may still blow but you are secure again;
You are at peace deep within.
Divine shelter is never withheld – it is always there.
It is reached at times of prayer.
Just a call is all it takes;
And the harsh winds I break.
Divine protection provides rest to regain strength;
So with God’s power you are able to face the stormy sea.
Never are you asked to travel all alone my friend.
Remember, even if the storm rages… the sun shines soon again.

Isaiah 25:4
For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
