Enter the Rest By Brenda Drake

I used to worry and fret over everything.  Even when all was going well I would worry over what could happen.  Needless to say I did not have quality rest at night or in day.  I have learned it is so much easier to take all that is of concern to my Lord in prayer.  He is able to take care of things so much more and even better than I could ever plan.

Enter the Rest

Such love and laughter – some of the very best,
Is shown by those that in God rests.
Whatever may cause one to stumble or to fall;
As you enter rest I cushion and comfort when you call.
What is as great as what God can do?
Nothing is impossible.  I will take care of you.
My hand is ready always to lead. My eyes never stray.
I will never leave you or turn from you away.
Take rest and know I will take you to the place,
Jesus’ sacrifice has provided under the banner of grace.
Take rest and I will show you there is no one as strong.
I carry you through each problem, and help you along.
Rest in your God, you can in peace go to sleep.
I do not close My eyes on you them I keep.
All things I provide, all asked is for you to trust Me,
So then happily at peace and rest you will be.

Exodus 33:14
And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you

Take a Break By Brenda Drake

When stress level is high, we need to bow low.  When we are beaten down we need to lift up our face to Jesus, the One that listens and answers prayer and promises in the Holy Word to give us strength as He relieves us of our heavy burdens.

Take a Break

Take a break from worry and its stressful ways.
Instead get to work at the sacrifice of praise.
In your holy toil you will find,
A lovely place of rest with peace of mind.
When you lay down your troubling thoughts and concerns,
And think again of the Lords watch-care and His soon return.
Your heart is able to compose a love song new;
Warm and gentle flowing through.
The world is pushing hard upon the unsuspecting soul,
With more and more drama, and fear of the unknown.
Rest in the knowledge God hears and answers prayer.
Rest in the knowledge of all He is aware.
Rest in the sure knowledge His love never ends.
And that there is nothing you need to do to more please Him.
Take a break, and bask in the Son;
His strength will give new power to you when you are done.
Come and rejoice because you are mine.
Let us meet together yet again in your resting time.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Enter the Rest By Brenda Drake

When mayhem seems to surround us, and conflicting reports confuse our mind and troubles our heart, it seems almost laughable to say we need to find the place where we are at rest.  But this is exactly what we can and must do.  This is a different kind of rest; it is a supernatural kind of rest.  God is very happy to assist us to do what He asks us to do.  He is our rest, He is our comfort, and He is our peace.  He is trustworthy and will do as He says He will do.  It takes a step of faith; standing on the Word of God, with an inner knowing God is for us and will never leave us to work it all out on our own power alone.

Enter the Rest

Precious love and pure joy the very best,
Are known by them that in God rest.
What causes to stumble and to fall,
Will be put to rest at your call.
What could be greater than what I can do?
Nothing is impossible; I will take care of you.
My hand is always ready to lead, my eyes never stray,
I will never leave you or turn from you away.
Relax and know I take you to the sacred place,
Jesus’ sacrifice provides; under the banner of grace.
I prove there is no one as strong,
Through each difficulty, I help you along.
Trust in your God, you can truly rest when you sleep,
I never close my eyes; on you them I keep.
All things I provide, but I call you trust me;
Happily at peace and restful then you will be.

Exodus 33:14
And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Life Giving Waters By Brenda Drake

            It is normal in our troubled times; with all the bad news and dire predictions of the future, to feel under pressure.  We strive to adapt to the unwelcome changes in our life, and fearfully face the prospect of our new normal.   We are saddened at the dreadful state of many of the  elderly, sick, and poor at home and abroad.  Hearts cry at the terrible conditions our doctors, nurses and  countless unsung heroes are daily facing.  The Word of God teaches and assures even when we experience anxiety and stress and feel out of control; God is in control.  We need to remember, as we follow Him and practice faith, trust, and prayer in Jesus’ name; He never fails to heal hurting hearts. He always gives the strength and ability to do whatever we are called to do.  This poem calls us to Come to His life-giving waters.

Life Giving Waters

Come to the River of Life

Flowing water is a welcome sight to see,
When the ground is parched and it moisture needs
Water brings abundance to the lifeless place.
New life will rise up from the dry place.
Flower’s spring forth; aroma fills the air.
Singing birds dwell in brush growing there.
Joy delivered from God…His goodness abounds,
When life-giving water touches dry ground
As this is, a soul is; when they are thirsting within,
 Living Water makes new-life again.
The life of the thirsty man is made whole.
They are eternally thankful when brought to the river’s flow.
 Springs of joy cause the blooms of praise and worship inside;
Peace fills the air where the Lord abides.
God’s love the redeemed again wish to share;
His beauty is yet to be compared.
Come to the water drink some more
Drink freely of the provision provided by the Lord

Psalms 63:1-5
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
