Music for the Heart that Cries By Brenda Drake

I sensed something different in a couple that spoke life and light into our life without speaking a word.  One day when the time was right we turned to them and they helped lead us to find the needed help we searched for.

Music for the Heart that Cries

Music for hearts that cry unfair,
That reaches out but is almost convinced no one cares.
Not only is there One that cares, His hand reaches down;
To lift to His side; to higher ground.
Pick up the broken hopes and dreams; do not throw them aside.
Jesus died to save your soul, to heal, and keep hope alive.
Lift your countenance and place a smile upon your face,
See the truth of God’s mercy and grace.
Allow songs of salvation to flood your land.
Allow within His strength and new life; make a stand.
Take up the armor of God that makes you a warrior ready to fight.
Against the evil influences in yours and in another’s life.
Make your life a new song; that brings joy and peace to another.
In a dance of freedom, with Jesus, your Soul’s Lover.
Praise the name of Jesus, in the Spirit speak;
You become the melody that helps another who seeks.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another,
as I have loved you.
John 15:12

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

Music the Language of Love By Brenda Drake

I love to sing at Church and some of the old songs are firmly imbedded in my heart.  They visit and come to life at some weird times and stay awhile and will not let go.  I know it is the spirit within that just has to sing praises to God for all He has done in my life.

Music the Language of Love

Music speaks a language all hearts can hear.
The melody keeps playing in the ear.
Love’s music when anointed travels fast and sure,
It reaches the heart with its message pure.
The listening heart opens wide,
To let the lovely lyrics inside.
Now the heart is like a sponge it fills up and then,
The song of praise and worship enters in.
The sweet Spirit orchestrates the symphony inside,
The joy of the Father comes alive.
Jesus, the song of heaven is lifted up,
As the thirsty soul lifts up their cup.
As you your lovely melodies compose,
There is one thing I want you to know.
I am hearing what your heart sings too,
And I also join in and rejoice in you.
Have you noticed even in the wee hours of night?
Your heart is rejoicing in delight?
Throughout the day do you find you are humming to God above?
Know it is a special language of love.
When your heart is in agreement with the love of your life,
You’re singing a duet with the Spirit of Christ!

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17

The Song all will Sing By Brenda Drake

Jesus, there is something about that name. It sounds like music to my heart.  I will sing His praises now and forever.  He is the song all will sing.

The Song all will Sing

Who gave you ears to hear and a song to sing,
And a heart, mind, soul and everything?
As the hearts fills with thanks, worship, and praise to God above,
Who fills your being with His love?
Who fills to overflow with joy and peace,
And by His Word causes great increase?
Who watches over you night and day?
Who by a prayer chases fear away?
What heart when touched with mercy and grace.
Does not yearn to see His face?
Jesus is the tune the grateful heart sings.
He is Lord of Lords and King of all kings.
He is the Melody that heaven sent to man;
To visit the earth to show God’s plan.
He is the Word of God, the Truth, when heard;
New life, new sight, and new purpose occurs.
A new destiny calls to put Salvation on display.
Jesus is the tune of Heaven and the Song all will sing one day.

Psalms 40:3
And he hath put a new song in my mouth,even praise unto our God: many shall see it,
and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

I Choose By Brenda Drake

         We have ample opportunities to get down-in-the-dumps, allowing worldly circumstances to take away the joys of our salvation. We all have a choice to fear evil is in charge or to be confident our Lord is in full control.  I choose to have faith in God’s goodness and want to think on the good things in life.

I Choose

I choose to see the sunshine above the clouds of life.
I choose to see the workings of the Spirit as I follow Christ.
In the midst of evil I seek to see;
The soul that the Good News needs
The tactics of the enemy are not hid from my sight,
But my choice is to rely on the plans of the God of right.
The world proves daily why I hate its taste more and more.
And it gives me a greater hunger for the Word of the Lord.
In the blackness of sin and shame and its dark foreboding ways,
I choose to trust and rely on God and continue to sing His praise.
Yes I am a dreamer and choose to look through eyes of faith.
I am my God’s beloved and for His return I wait.
But until then I will diligently follow after the Light,
For even in the dark world His love shines bright.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Think of the Miracle that took Place By Brenda Drake

I have had some amazing things happen in my life.  Some, I believe are miracle material.  It excites me to know that I serve a miracle working God.  The most wonderful phenomenon I have experienced is salvation, and the growth of the Lord inside of me.  He truly is my increase.

Think on the Miracle That Took Place

If you saw five loaves of bread and two fish multiplied to twelve baskets fill,
It would astound you and with wonder you would be filled.
It indeed would be a great miracle that took place in your sight,
But think about the true multiplication done by the Christ.
Thousands of hungry stomachs were also filled that day,
And there were still twelve baskets full left to give away.
As you think about the miracle that took place,
It pales in comparison when compared with God’s grace.
From the life of one, there are numbers too large to count that are saved.
From the life of one lifted on a cross… all sin debt was paid.
Because of one life offered to save man,
God’s truth can be heard as the Father planned.
Think about the miracle of the cross of shame;
The Bread broken for you took away all your blame.
The believing heart by faith stands,
Redeemed… a brand-new man.
Oh, what a wonderful sight to see;
The angels marvel at the change in thee.
From dark to light… from death to life,
What a wonderful work done in and through you by the work of Christ.
The life saved is then multiplied anew.
As you live for Him… the Bread of Life lives in you.
What a mighty miracle is done again,
You become the bread of life that God to another sends.

John 6:13-14
Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.  Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

The Song By Brenda Drake

Lord I thank you for the joy that fills my heart in times of praise.   Help me to learn to dance unashamed and uninhibited before you like David danced.

The Song

The beautiful melody flows like a river within;
Peaceful, restful full of Him.
It sounds like silence to the ear,
But within its message sounds so clear.
The love is so special, only meant for me.
Jesus’ gift to a saved soul set free.
Salvation’s song is precious beyond compare;
Lovely truths that I can with others share.
Love’s songs are full of light and life;
That shines hope to cause inner delight.
Eternal comfort with promise of undying favor bestowed;
Much more precious than any treasure the hands can hold
Its tune causes sweet desperation within,
That hungers and thirsts only for Him.
Sweet Song of joy that bubbles and flows inside;
Set my feet to dancing with Jesus as in Him I abide.

Psalms 40:3
And he hath put a new song in my mouth,
even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
