Sanctuary of Love By Brenda Drake

            We attempt to explain the place in prayer, where hearts sing silent adoration, thanks, and praise and our soul is strengthened mightily again to serve our Maker and the Savior of our soul. Our experiences are so special and so unique we find we need to try again and again to testify of its wonder.

Sanctuary of Love

Sanctuary of love in a world of mess;
The place where angels sing and my heart can rest.
I travel there in an instant; all my filthy rags left outside.
In there I am dressed in the righteous robe prepared for the bride.
I stroll by the sweet waters that lulls into peace,
That refreshes my soul and my strength is increased.
I travel in expectation, never knowing fully what gift I will find,
But I know who it is that presents it, and I know He is mine.
Love smells like heaven has opened up its door,
To share a little glimpse of the great love ahead prepared by my Lord.
Without a word the Word of God has filled me up again,
With the touch of eternal life that can only come from Him.
Oh how I love the sweet Sanctuary provided for me in prayer;
That only I can enter with heart bowed low to get there.
As I bow in worship and praise I will see,
Great is this beautiful space provided for me.
Again I re-enter the turmoil of the a world of unrest,
Filled with new hope, peace, and love to God’s truth confess.

Psalms 26:8
O LORD, I love the habitation of your house
and the place where your glory dwells.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Hebrew 10:19-23
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Heart Talks By Brenda Drake

      I experience some of the greatest relief when I just blurt out without thought of preparation my feelings to God.  They do not always sound especially holy or eloquent; for at times I am confused, sick, or frustrated.  Then there are the other heart-talks that are almost like a song too beautiful for words.  God is pleased at sound of our voice, but He loves the sounds of our hearts.

Heart Talk

Expressions of deep that overflows;
Precious nuggets revealed of the soul.
Sweet sounds of yearning, burning desire,
Brought to and from God’s loving fires.
Digging deep into hidden places to find,
The selected sacrifice at appointed times.
Heart talk speaks in different dialects,
To the intended listener selected as best.
Love is the language that all understands;
It is felt more than heard in all the lands.
Expressions, impressions, and confessions all the same;
Preciously conveyed messages the heart proclaims.
Come rest at the feet of the One you adore;
Heart-to-heart, in touch with the living, loving, Lord.
At worship in work, in play, and at rest;
Whole, happy and free; as His you are truly blessed.
In trouble, in trial, in sickness, and in pain,
Heart talks with the Master breaks the chains.
Jesus is the Word of God and He speaks clear.
Come closer with hearts in tune the world can love’s language hear.

John 4:24
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Roman 12:24
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Ephesians 1:16-18
I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

Be Still By Brenda Drake

When overcome with the troubles and trials of this world there is a place where we can find the sweet atmosphere we need to face our world with God’s strength within.

Be Still

When you desire to be carried to the sweet place of peace;
Where the inner hearing’s ability is increased,
When God’s thoughts enter the receptive attentive heart,
And every worldly care departs,
Nothing else matters – no one… not one thing;
For every fiber of your being is brought before the King.
Take a deep breath…let it out slow,
Allow His love to fill you – body, mind and soul.
Even the air smells sweeter in this place,
As you are wrapped in the comfort of His embrace.
Lovely songs of worship wells up from within,
To give praise as you worship Him.
There is value in this place – it overflows with power and might;
As the loving attitude in God delights.
Jesus will be revealed and His name is lifted high.
That you are His cannot be denied.
The sweet inner peace has you so filled,
Your countenance will show the value of before God “being still”

Psalms 63:5-6
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:  When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Psalms 46:10-11
Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge
