The threats of the world cause us a certain dread of the future of our world. If we are not careful we get caught up in its turmoil and worry and fear takes root in our heart. When we lose our peace and joy we begin to grumble and complain and become discontented with our life. If we are wise we will remember God is in control and we have so much to be thankful for.
Let Us Truly be Thankful
The truly thankful gives back To help in another’s lack. With all their heart they desire to serve, With such an attitude they obey God’s Word. Gratitude for salvation is an eternal joy that delights. The thankful one’s countenance shines bright Each day’s gift purpose is to glorify Christ. They know no matter what comes they are clearly in His sight. Tomorrow’s promise causes contentment in today. The world and its threats are chased away, Faith, hope, and love are necessary tools, Prayer, praise, and worship are what most desire to use. Thankfulness creates a place where peace can reign. In God’s presence thankful hearts seek to remain. Everything is provided by the Lover of our soul.; We dishonor His goodness when we are not thankful.
Psalms 92:1-2 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
As I sit in my favorite chair ready to praise my Lord I begin to think of all I am thankful for. Some things quickly come to mind, Like food, clothing, shelter and family times. But what about the simple things we take for granted each day? Like this quiet time I take to pray; The hot cup of coffee sweetened to taste; And the precious luxury of a warm, inviting place. The precious times we’ve had with family and friends, And the meaningful, loving, conversations with each of them. For our Church family that is spread across many miles. And the wonderful touches from God that causes hearts to smile. As I write down my thoughts of all I’m thankful for, I see there are countless blessings I have received from my Lord. Soon I get ready for our big day planned to prepare, Our feast of thanks of God’s provisions shared. A Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings….my diet is to be crashed But also I am thankful to know my family loves me even if I’m fat!!!

Psalms 92:1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praise unto thy name, O most High:
Life is a gift. Jesus is Truth, Life and the Way. Because of His sacrifice in our behalf we have new life in Him. When our eyes are opened to the Truth we can more appreciate all the gifts bestowed upon us. We then are equipped to help show the Way to another.
Gifts of Life
My heart ponders in my quiet times, The beautiful gifts of life God has left for me to find. I hear the lovely songs the birds sing, As, I take a deep breath supplied by my King. The gift of the sun’s shine, that warms my skin, Is joined, by the soft touch of the wind. At the hum of the hummingbirds that fly past my ear, I in awe wonder at how fast they again disappear. The sound of the bubbling flowing-stream outdoors: Is another gentle reminder of life’s gifts from the Lord. In this quiet place it’s clear to see, That my God has bestowed yet another gift; His sweet peace. Safe and secure in His divine care, I remember I have a story to share. Before I knew Jesus and before I was given new sight, It felt nothing in my world was quite right. Because of Jesus I am now of God’s family a part, He is the true reason life’s gifts are precious in my heart.
1 Chronicles 29:11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
