The Spirit Shines Bright By Brenda Drake

Oh the darkness of the sin-riddled soul.  But as dark as sin is, Jesus conquered it by paying the debt of sin for all that will believe.  When He is our Savior, we are set free from sins terrible life- destroying grasp. Little do we comprehend the light that dwells within.

The Spirit Shines Bright

It is dark; sin runs rampant in the streets.
Hurt, pain, and despair grips hearts in defeat.|
The fleshly ways of man,
Has full reign in the land.
When one seeks to see,
With heart available and willing to believe,
In the dark place, in comes Christ.
In the body of a believer the Spirit shines light.
The Church is the body and Christ is the head;
Together they go forth as Spirit led.|
Jesus is the light and the way.
He is the truth relayed.
Jesus is the healer of sin-sickness and shame.
We the Church, freely pray in His name.
Jesus is Lord, He is life.
We as His body, leads others to the light
In the dark place of the heart where sin hides;
The Spirit reveals the darkness deep inside.
When the Church rises up and sets its face to win,
Their praise and worship lights the way for them.
Their flesh may struggle and put up a fight,
But a holy work is done when the Spirit shines bright.

1 Thessalonians 5:5
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day:
we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

A Little Does Much By Brenda Drake

The Creator made a tree fit into a little seed.  There is a harvest with every seed of kindness we plant in His kingdom work. Words are seeds, and actions are seeds too. I marvel when I think of His Word planted in our hearts, and the work He accomplished in our behalf on the cross.  I am overjoyed at His victory over death.  I am humbled at the realization He is still at work in heaven praying for us each day.

A Little Does Much

Just a ray of light helps the lost find,
The way out of darkness; leaving fear behind.
A word of encouragement makes the faint-hearted strong.
A smile of approval encourages someone along.
A reaching hand can pull from the miry clay.
All it takes is love and kindness to chase loneliness away.
A modest assistance can help the poor to lift his head.
A little hope offered can carry off someone’s dread
One life offered to do God’s work can accomplish much;
Brokenness is made whole by their touch.
A planted seed brings great harvest in return.
Jesus is our harvest we did not earn
As a ray of sunshine your life can be.
Reach out and touch someone… be a light for Me

Romans 15:1-2
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.  Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.

Matthew 5:14-16
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Would the Sun Tell the Moon Not to Shine? By Brenda Drake

When you feel you are a dull and ordinary person with no great value, remember with Jesus on the inside there is no way you are of little significance.  It is impossible that you are not seen as a light to another with His love dwelling inside.

Would the Sun tell the Moon Not to Shine?

Would the sun tell the moon not to shine?  How could this be?
The moon’s light is only because of the sun’s energy
So many in wonder gaze at the moon’s light
For it is indeed a beautiful sight
It reflects only a few of the rays of the sun
But it lights up the night for someone
God’s children are also a light on the earth that others can see
Their witness testifies that they are reflections of Divinity
Would the Son tell the Church to not shine?
If it does not draw by its light it is not Mine.
Be holy for I am holy; be merciful and full of grace.
Forgive as I have forgiven you and My light shines from your face.
Worry and fear surrounds with clouds of doubt
Throw them aside; trust God and your light reaches out.
Would the sun tell the moon not to shine? How could this be?
It would be foolish for it would be impossibility.
When the Church is complete it will fully know,
The profit that comes from the light they throw.
Until then, live right, live clean and pure before the Son
And your face will shine forever as the “Chosen One”

2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
