The Flower Arrives By Brenda Drake

            True awakening was the day when the truth revealed I had no way to pay my debt of sin and my eternal destination was hell. At the lowest place of my life The Flower arrived; Jesus died so I could forever live with Him. All I needed to do was to confess my need of a Savior and to repent my sin.  Since that great day flowers of His love are delivered to me daily.

The Flower Arrives

The flower arrives at a heart’s door,
With an invitation to come into the presence of the Lord.
Come as you are; holy apparel is supplied;
Holy, pure, and righteous garments ready for the bride.
Come, says the Bridegroom, My heart aches for you to see,
The beautiful future I have prepared for thee.
Leave all fear and worry behind,
Revel in joy that you are forever Mine.
Sweet peace settles inside deep,
With everlasting assurance to keep.
Tell Me all the hopes and dreams, I already know.
I love to hear your voice and l love to affection show.
One day I will call you and you will never go away.
It will also be your choice to stay.
All the little glimpses become real and true,
As heaven’s open-arm embrace you.
Until then, remain in tune to Love’s call to come.
Spend quality time in the presence of Jesus, God’s Son.
Keep heart open wide to receive and to bow low,
In worship and praise in the Spirit’s flow.
In love’s sweet aroma with God as one;
The flower arrives to invite another to in God’s presence come.

Matthew 11:28-29
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Our Heavenly Father’s Delight By Brenda Drake

I wasted so many years worrying over how God thought I was doing.  I expected a hard hand of correction to fall at all times.  The closer we get to Jesus and the more we consume the Word of God we get a glimpse of the magnitude of love Heavenly Father has for us.  While we were yet sinners He loved us so much He sent Jesus to pay our debt of sin so we could be able to choose to love Him back.  Because of Jesus’ sacrifice in our behalf we now are a delight and a treasure to our Heavenly Father.

Our Heavenly Father’s Delight

Heavenly Father delights in His child, such a joy in His gaze;
At his accomplishments He lavishes praise.
His hand is always ready to assist;
Never for His child will He His love resist.
When we learn to speak like Jesus, His heart is glorified.
When the enemy strikes, His anger is alive.
His eyes always see ahead, He is never at loss.
Jesus provided everything for us at the cross.
Those that walk with confidence and entrust their life,
Truly brings our Father in heaven great delight.
As we fully believe what the Word has said,
We find sweet peace and joy as by the Spirit we are led.
The Father is so delighted by faith He pours into our lives even more,
So we can bring more children to be the delight of the Lord

Exodus 19:5
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

Numbers 14:8
If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

Reward Comes By Brenda Drake

God loves us and He loves to work through us.  When we live a life to glorify Him, He in turn rewards our faithfulness.  Many times we do not at first recognize His wonderful gifts when they are bestowed. My prayer is to live a life that is always pleasing to my Lord.

Reward Comes

Every kind deed that is done,
To bring glory and profit to God’s kingdom,
Is known and noted by God above,
He recognizes every profitable act of love.
The heart generous will find,
Good deeds are done without great thought at times.
Great rewards come in ways unexpected;
To the outward eye not always immediately detected.
The heart that has been by God’s hand touched,
Is wrapped in the protective embrace of love.
The hurting heart that refuses to cause hurt to another,
Will with the rewarding comfort of God’s healing recover.
The biting tongue’s response that is by prayer replaced,
Will be rewarded by God’s Word of comfort, mercy and grace.
The forgiving attitude with words that agree,
Will the great reward of God’s forgiveness receive.
The joyous life that trusts God’s care,
Will be rewarded with even more joy to with others share.
The reward of all rewards soon comes again.
In the arm of Jesus, you are handed your reward from Him.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Revelation 22:12
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

The Song all will Sing By Brenda Drake

Jesus, there is something about that name. It sounds like music to my heart.  I will sing His praises now and forever.  He is the song all will sing.

The Song all will Sing

Who gave you ears to hear and a song to sing,
And a heart, mind, soul and everything?
As the hearts fills with thanks, worship, and praise to God above,
Who fills your being with His love?
Who fills to overflow with joy and peace,
And by His Word causes great increase?
Who watches over you night and day?
Who by a prayer chases fear away?
What heart when touched with mercy and grace.
Does not yearn to see His face?
Jesus is the tune the grateful heart sings.
He is Lord of Lords and King of all kings.
He is the Melody that heaven sent to man;
To visit the earth to show God’s plan.
He is the Word of God, the Truth, when heard;
New life, new sight, and new purpose occurs.
A new destiny calls to put Salvation on display.
Jesus is the tune of Heaven and the Song all will sing one day.

Psalms 40:3
And he hath put a new song in my mouth,even praise unto our God: many shall see it,
and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

It is Settled By Brenda Drake

I remember singing a song in Church years ago that stated, I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back.  It was a song of settling.  The decision was made and my face was like flint.  I was not entertaining any other way.  Jesus was my way.  He still is; now I know the Word and agree with it.  It is settled I am what it says I am and I can do what it says I can do.

It Is Settled

Settle deep within me the kind of peace,
That causes to Your kingdom increase.
With heart and mind settled upon the Word,
To be at peace even when chaos occurs.
Settle my emotions to reflect faith’s stand;
At watch and waiting for God’s command.
Mark my path with confidence fully assured,
For it is the way safe and secure.
As I rest in Your care,
Give me ability to successfully share,
All You have given me.
Lord set me free from greed.
Make me not under a basket turned upside down,
But like a light on a hill set on higher ground.
Settle my heart, steadfast in life’s winds,
Connected to love, filled with Jesus within.
My Lord, Savior and Lover of my Soul,
Walk with me, in and through me in places high and low,
It is settled; nothing can or will pull me astray,
For You settled it at the cross when my sin-debt You paid.

Psalms 119:88-89
Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.

Fragrance of Life or Death By Brenda Drake

We are brought from death to life in Christ. We may not see the change but be sure others see the difference. The Word says there is an external and internal change.  Not only are we saved from the threat of hell’s punishment we no longer are the stench of death and decay. After salvation we have the aroma of Christ.

Fragrance of Life or Death

There is no mistaking the difference everyone can tell;
Life and death has different smells.
Look around at what you hear, taste, and see,
Are they life-giving things or do they stink?
Gossip may seem a tasty morsel but it brings death.
It has no life-giving promise to expect.
Hurtful words hang heavy in the heart and mind;
Have a terrible aroma that is hard to take sometimes.
To God there is an aroma sweet to hear, taste, and see.
His affection is constant for those who His gift receives.
Obedience along with, honor and respect for others;
 Is the sweet fragrance of your Soul’s Lover.
Jesus is life – He gives life to the lost.
He draws from death to new life at the Cross.
There is no mistaking the difference when you come.
From the stench of death to the sweet smell of rebirth with God as One.

2 Corinthians 2:14-16
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.  For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

God Sees it All By Brenda Drake

The worldly influences around us at times cause us to wonder at such wrong ideas and attitudes.  Although they at times even seem to prosper, there will be a day when all will answer to continued disobedience.   Nothing gets past God’s watchful eye.

God Sees it All

Who is high and mighty in the land?
That makes unholy demands?
Who is it who lies and will not the truth reveal?
Who continues to poke the sore spot and will not allow it to heal?
Who has made unholy plans that go against God’s Word?
Who has spread untruths so another’s witness is disturbed?
Who behind closed doors whispers evil intent?
And their wrong doings refuse to repent?
Blood stains the earth of lives destroyed by them.
They will not get away with their atrocities; God sees all of them.
God is love and whatever is not of God He hates.
At the removal of such unrepentance; He will not hesitate.
There is only One who is high and lifted up for all to see.
Only One is Truth, Life, and The Way and all glory receives.
But those that refuse to live a life with evil intent;
Will be as God’s representatives sent.
The Body of Christ, the Church, His bride;
Only they will be eternally at Jesus’ side.

Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

In Tune With Life By Brenda Drake

Truly we once were dead in sin.  When we accept Jesus we are alive in the Spirit, in tune with God’s purpose and plan for our lives.  We are able to sing the songs of Salvation, in tune with the will of God’s forever song.

In Tune With Life

Rhythms of life, in tune with love;
A precious melody that glorifies God above.
Heart-felt emotions swells up to overflow,
To share life’s song for another heart to hold.
Steady, sweet, peaceful sounds bring comfort within;
A life in harmony with and one with Him.
Jesus is the Song of Salvation to bring life from death’s grasp.
He is the one song that never ends in fact,
His songs of love are multiplied in never-ending flow;
Like a holy fire, He is the anointing that spreads from soul to soul.
The rhythm of life is planted in soil prepared.
The Word is the seed planted in the heart aware.
The Word of God is the seed that great harvest brings.
Jesus is the Word that causes hearts to sing.
We plant Jesus at the end of every prayer request.
He has in the Word given us many promises.
In Jesus’ name we have answer to our every need.
Proving we are in tune with Life’s Seed.

Psalms 118:14-15
The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous:

I Run to the Rock By Brenda Drake

At times we feel as if the world and its troubles are about to sweep us off our feet.  Before we begin to fear the floods of life are about over our head we are wise to head to Jesus, the Rock higher than our circumstances.

I Run to the Rock

Open up our eyes Lord to see,
When the truth is blocked by our enemy.
Allow our hearts to be free,
From lies and deceit.
We seek Your divine protection,
Guard our life from deception.
When the world magnifies lies dressed in truth’s garb,
Help us detect it and come against the deception hard.
Help our minds to absorb what the Word says is right,
And push every other thing away and out of sight.
When opportunity arises give us the words to say;
That testifies truth to others to show and lead the way.
In the world’s confusion and its shaky ground,
I will run to the rock and rest on truth sound.
In the winds and rain that threatens to flood my land,
I depend on Jesus’ helping hand.
I will walk with Him on murky waters if need be;
Because on Him I depend and He is strong in me.

Psalms 61:2
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed:
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Precious Secret Place By Brenda Drake

The finest place is in the spot God has reserved just for you.  Only you fit there.  In this place only your love can be perfectly in tune with the lover of your soul.  I call it my precious secret place because it is my very own space to fulfill His purpose for me.

Precious Secret Place

The secret place is precious beyond compare;
Completely private and holy but the way there is shared.
Precious, set apart and holy under God’s wings I hide,
In this space of safety I am at peace, full, and alive.
I am filled with confidence and alive to His touch,
With inner peace basking in His everlasting love.
In this place there are answers to every inner quest,
For in Jesus’ name is every prayer request.
He is the answer to every trouble or woe,
For He has provided and proves He is the lover of my soul.
Oh how my heart sings and longs to forever stay at His side,
I am His beloved. I am His bride.
My heart has been touched and fashioned to do His will,
I am consumed with His desire to heaven’s rooms fill.
So out into the world I travel to show again,
Others who search, in need of finding the way to Him.
Never do I stay out and away for long,
For I have found in the precious secret place I belong.

Psalms 91:1-2
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most Highshall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
