Take Me to the Garden By Brenda Drake

            I love gardens but do not enjoy gardening. But there is a garden that is so special, so wondrous; I never really desire to leave.  Some call it their special place to meet with the Lover of our soul, some call it the place of perfect peace, some call it the intimate place of prayer; I call it all the above and countless other terms of tender endearments.

Take Me to the Garden

Take me to the garden Lord where,
The flowers bloom and the aroma of love fills the air
Where my heart’s whisper bursts in song,
And my inner man rejoices it is where it belongs.
Show me by Your presence what one day forever will be,
A garden of paradise where my soul is set free.
In this sweet place I can see farther and my heart is attune,
To the truth of the promise, You are coming soon.
Take me to the garden so I am made stronger still,
So when I leave I will follow hard after Your will.
Infuse me with the ability to carry the truth to another,
So the loving place of rest and favor they too discover.
Wrap Your loving Spirit around me so I am at peace within,
So I can easily find my way back to the garden again.
One day we will be gathered like flowers before You placed;
A beautiful example of how Your mercy worked with grace.

Isaiah 51:3
For the Lord shall comfort Zion:
he will comfort all her waste places;
and he will make her wilderness like Eden,
and her desert like the garden of the Lord;
joy and gladness shall be found therein,
thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Song of Songs 5:1
I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse:
I have gathered my myrrh with my spice;
I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey;
I have drunk my wine with my milk:
eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.

Sanctuary of Love By Brenda Drake

            We attempt to explain the place in prayer, where hearts sing silent adoration, thanks, and praise and our soul is strengthened mightily again to serve our Maker and the Savior of our soul. Our experiences are so special and so unique we find we need to try again and again to testify of its wonder.

Sanctuary of Love

Sanctuary of love in a world of mess;
The place where angels sing and my heart can rest.
I travel there in an instant; all my filthy rags left outside.
In there I am dressed in the righteous robe prepared for the bride.
I stroll by the sweet waters that lulls into peace,
That refreshes my soul and my strength is increased.
I travel in expectation, never knowing fully what gift I will find,
But I know who it is that presents it, and I know He is mine.
Love smells like heaven has opened up its door,
To share a little glimpse of the great love ahead prepared by my Lord.
Without a word the Word of God has filled me up again,
With the touch of eternal life that can only come from Him.
Oh how I love the sweet Sanctuary provided for me in prayer;
That only I can enter with heart bowed low to get there.
As I bow in worship and praise I will see,
Great is this beautiful space provided for me.
Again I re-enter the turmoil of the a world of unrest,
Filled with new hope, peace, and love to God’s truth confess.

Psalms 26:8
O LORD, I love the habitation of your house
and the place where your glory dwells.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Hebrew 10:19-23
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

I Pray For… By Brenda Drake

            In the troubling times there is much to pray for.   Also there are many things to give thanks for. When we place our heart and mind on Jesus and His promises to His redeemed like the old song we used to sing; ( things of the world grows strangely dim.)

I Pray For…

I pray for wisdom and eyes open and willing to see,
The signs of the times, without fear as I follow close after Thee.
I pray for the resources I need in the tasks ahead,
With a good memory and good mind to remember all the Word says.
Give me joy and peace that is contagious so others gather strength too;
With joyfulness in the honor and privilege to follow after you.
As time marches on give the body I live in health,
Increase my ability to distribute the wealth,
 Of the many gifts bestowed on me.
Allow my life to count in souls brought to Thee.
I pray for my family and for my friends to know,
The sure love and provisions Jesus provides for their soul.
I pray for our Country and its leaders, as Your will is done;
Will be counted as worthy when judgement day comes.
I pray for strength and endurance to run the race with success;
As in Your perfect will and plan I in confidence rest.

1Thesalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks:
 for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Heart Talks By Brenda Drake

I enjoy my quiet times spent in prayer and worship. But some of my most intimate conversations with the Lord have been silent heart- rendering deeply personal, encounters that caused a positively satisfying change to my life. Many times I have no real plan to have a heart to heart with God but I am sure they are lovingly orchestrated by the Holy Spirit.

Heart Talks

Expressions of deep-waters flow,
To reveal the precious nuggets of the soul.
Sweet sounds of yearning burning desire,
Is brought to and comes from God’s loving fires.
Digging deep into the hidden places to find,
A selected sacrifice of praise at the appointed time.
Heart-talks speak in different dialects,
To the intended listener selected as best.
Love is the language all understand.
It is felt more than heard in all the lands.
Expressions, impressions, and confessions all the same;
Are personally-conveyed messages the heart proclaims.
Come, rest at the feet of the One you adore;
Heart-to-heart in touch with the loving Lord.
At worship, at work, in play and at rest,
Whole, happy and free, as His, you are truly blessed.
In trouble, in trial, in sickness and in pain,
Heart-talks with the Master breaks unneeded chains.
Jesus is the Word of God and He speaks clear.
With hearts in one-accord, loves- language the world can hear.

Psalms 141:1-2
Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me;
give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense;
and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
