Take Me to the Garden By Brenda Drake

            I love gardens but do not enjoy gardening. But there is a garden that is so special, so wondrous; I never really desire to leave.  Some call it their special place to meet with the Lover of our soul, some call it the place of perfect peace, some call it the intimate place of prayer; I call it all the above and countless other terms of tender endearments.

Take Me to the Garden

Take me to the garden Lord where,
The flowers bloom and the aroma of love fills the air
Where my heart’s whisper bursts in song,
And my inner man rejoices it is where it belongs.
Show me by Your presence what one day forever will be,
A garden of paradise where my soul is set free.
In this sweet place I can see farther and my heart is attune,
To the truth of the promise, You are coming soon.
Take me to the garden so I am made stronger still,
So when I leave I will follow hard after Your will.
Infuse me with the ability to carry the truth to another,
So the loving place of rest and favor they too discover.
Wrap Your loving Spirit around me so I am at peace within,
So I can easily find my way back to the garden again.
One day we will be gathered like flowers before You placed;
A beautiful example of how Your mercy worked with grace.

Isaiah 51:3
For the Lord shall comfort Zion:
he will comfort all her waste places;
and he will make her wilderness like Eden,
and her desert like the garden of the Lord;
joy and gladness shall be found therein,
thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Song of Songs 5:1
I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse:
I have gathered my myrrh with my spice;
I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey;
I have drunk my wine with my milk:
eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.
