No More Morals By Brenda Drake

        I have witnessed a huge change of mind on what is right and wrong.  I have talked to some that truly believe biblical ways are outdated.  It is alarming to say the least.

No More Morals

Forgotten are good morals, new thoughts have them replaced.
A now normal activity in the past caused disgrace.
Whole generations have misplaced what is right and wrong.
They have little knowledge of what should or should not belong.
Teachers are untaught, or they choose to rebel;
They assist many to walk on the path to hell.
The deaf march with their young trailing close behind.
What can be done with the blind leading the blind?
The world strips down truth and clothes it with rags that stink.
With new theories that pronounces God’s authority extinct.
What can be done about the darkness that overtakes the land?
Is there hope? How can a lost world the truth understand?
Jesus died so the deaf could hear and blind could see.
He died so those bound could be set free.
He gave His life so the sinner could be born anew.
His work is accomplished by living through you.
You are the answer; your life is a testimony of light.
Your words and actions help give others new sight.
You are an instrument that administers love;
That redirects the lost to God above.
Godly lives light the way to the cross.
The hope received brings truth to the lost.
Wrong morals are again replaced by the Word’s declaration.
Know God’s faithful witnesses with His help can turn about a nation.

Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;
that put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

2 Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good work

Direction for the Gentle Spirit By Brenda Drake

I never was a person to set out to hurt someone, but I also did not care enough to set out to help them either.  A great change has taken place in my life since Jesus saved my soul.  I not only care for others but I spend time thinking of ways to help them if I am able.  My prayers now are not just for my needs but are also for the need of salvation and the concerns of others.

Direction for the Gentle Spirit

Direction for the gentle spirit, yielded and still,
That hungers and thirsts after the Father’s will.
For the one who wants to see beauty in the most unlovable kind,
hat purposes to good in each person find.
Know your God will reveal the deep innermost part,
Of the valuable, empty space in their heart.
I will give you the ability to not only see,
But love enough to inside of them reach for me.
That hard, relentless, calculating person you know,
Has a great need within their soul.
The bitter, angry man uncompromising in his ways
Has great need within for God’s love to brighten his days.
The very sinful man that seems to wallow in the world’s mire,
Their heart too your God also desires.
If you allow me to show you we will gather more and more,
Into the holy presence of the love of your Lord.
I will bestow upon you more than you can contain,
You will over flow like a river in Jesus’ name.
Sweet and peaceful with a gentle warm embrace,
That honors the Father in the world’s last days.
Oh gentle spirit become more like the One you serve.
Learn from the Holy Spirits still voice as you read God’s Word.

John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Cry of the Weak By Brenda Drake

God loves us so much.  He died to save our soul and He equips us to reach out and lead another to the cross of Christ.   Every person has opportunity to draw another to the truth that set them free; by our testimony declaring the works of God in our life.  Every person has need of salvation; some know they have a need of help, and others may feel they have no need of help in any way.

Cry of the Weak

Pick up the pieces, look around,
Make sure the weak and lost are found.
Search in places you would hardly believe,
To find precious jewels that belongs to me.
In dark corners under the cover of sin;
They are not recognizable in the shape they are in.
If you are not careful you may pass them by;
So weak is the sound of their cry.
Those who gather souls must have a listening ear,
They the frail sound will hear.
Come, all who are willing to do as I ask;
Those that seek to bring the backslidden back.
Pray that your declarations give hope.
And your words of wisdom will help them cope.
Be kind to the stranger and truly listen when they speak,
And you will be well armed and able to help the weak.

Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Psalms 61:2
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed:
lead me to the rock that is higher than

The Word and Its Beauty By Brenda Drake

The Word of God is one of the greatest gifts received when its truth is opened up to the mind.  I hunger to hear the Spirit’s whisper in my heart, then when it is confirmed by the written promises in the Bible its wondrous love is cemented firmly in my heart.  No one can take its guarantee of God’s favor from me.

The Word and its Beauty

Valuable lessons written down,
Are seen as precious jewels found.
As you reach out to their beauty touch,
I urge you to pick them up.
Examine them closely to their full value perceive,
Do not carelessly lay them aside; treat them as a gift received.
Take them and place them in a safe place,
Where they are accessible to be later again embraced.
Keep precious truth in the vault of your heart under the Spirit’s care;
When its wisdom is needed He will remind you it is still there.
Devour the Word and taste its sweetness to make you fat.
You will have wisdom to share with others that find they have lack.
To those who also hunger and thirst after God’s Will;
You are like the mother that urges her family to be filled.
Your larder is well stocked; lessons of life are put to test,
Combined with the truth of the Scripture’s promises.
Eat more and more do not tire of its taste,
And you are filled with God’s love to show forth His amazing grace.
Read, study, and apply the truth of God’s Word to your life,
And you will indeed be in a dark world a bright shining light.

Deuteronomy 8:3
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man

Measure My Words By Brenda Drake

I used to say whatever came to mind.  It certainly was not all good.  After salvation it has been a constant struggle to speak according to the Word.  Now I desire my thoughts and my words to honor God.  My language is a lot better…but there is still much room for improvement.

Measure My Words

Measure my words to cause change.
Let it be a profit in the exchange.
Take away added things that are insincere.
Make my plans and intentions perfectly clear.
When self begins to throw about,
Words of fear or words of doubt,
Quickly bring back to mind
Things that bring honor and with the Word align.
Father my thoughts are loud in Your ear,
I pray negative, harmful thinking disappears.
Draw me closer; teach me Your ways,
Fill me up with thanks and praise.
Measure my words; sweet abiding God I serve,
So You are the message I speak. You are the Word.
Join me Lord in word and in song.
Loving, and serving and made strong.
Flavor my life with Your loving touch;
That in encouragement lifts another soul up,
Hear my prayer and all I cannot know to pray.
So tomorrow I better speak and think Your way.

1 Peter 4:11
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
