Move into Position By Brenda Drake

So many people I have spoken to have been unable to sleep a whole night without waking up to pray for our Nation.  God is in control and He hears our prayers and when they align with His will and His Word His answer is yes and Amen.

By the way, in response to the silliness of the recent prayer ending of amen and a women.

Revelation 3:14
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

Move into Position

Move into the place prepared;
Into the victorious stance of prayer.
Who do you trust in? Is it God or man?
Do you speak words of defeat or the Word of I AM?
God is not thwarted; He is not pushed off His throne.
When you stand with Him you are not alone.
God sees everything; you as in a dark glass see.
The wise will yield to God’s way and trust where He leads.
Move into position ready to fight,
The battle set before you as in God’s strength you delight.
The weapons of your warfare are not carnal; they are mighty indeed.
In your warfare you pull down the strongholds of the enemy.
Are you ready? Get set and to go,
To the run the race in the Spirit’s flow?
Prayer is the position. The Word of God the weapon best,
Praying the Word over the Nation as in Jesus’ name you confess.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

1 Corinthians 13:11-12
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

2 Samuel 7:24-25
For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, Lord, art become their God.  And now, O Lord God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

Faith is Like… By Brenda Drake

At times I feel I understand and have faith and at other times I have none because of unbelief.  Real faith is in God and His Word.  We do not always possess great faith but faith the size of a mustard seed is enough. Hold unto your faith, God is in control.

Faith is Like

Faith is like technology; it takes a while to grasp,
But when you do the world opens up, in fact,
You are able to do much more than you ever thought you could.
And you can accomplish much more than you ever thought you would.
Faith is like a light that illuminates the mind;
What was not comprehended is clearly defined.
Faith sees what is not seen by the eyes.
In confidence faith’s expectations will not be denied.
Faith is like the sleeping giant that does not know his might;
But when revived, is unstoppable, and ready to fight.
Faith in God and in His holy word,
Will speak forth the impossible and when it is heard,
Angels rush to greet it and the demons flee;
For the light of God’s power shakes the heavenly.
Faith is just a word that exclaims,
The truth the Father wills in Jesus’ name.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea;

Fixed By Brenda Drake

I have always been a little strong willed; now I am strong willed for Jesus.  We must set our face like flint to do the will of the One that is our help in every way.  In our troubled world that feels like it is completely upside down; our God is not a bit troubled, nor is He out of control. I will keep my eyes fixed on Jesus and what He is doing.

Fixed

Set your heart and fix your face,
Steadily walk ahead and its way embrace.
The hard path is not walked alone,
God leads the way home.
The easy way full of joy and love will be,
Well lighted and well-marked for thee.
 Fixed: with a heart that continues to praise,
That will not allow life to pull astray.
Keep on walking my friend.
You will be victorious in the end.
Will you fear defeat or will you victory proclaim?
Fixed for full healing in Jesus’ name?
I will fix my face, I will not stray.
I will heed God’s Word and its instructions obey.
I will not allow the poison of world’s opinion pull me down.
I watch for God’s help to pull me to higher ground.
I fix my face to continue to do as ordained.
Indeed a conqueror, all praise and glory goes to Jesus’s name.

Psalms 57:7
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed:

Isaiah 50:7
I will sing and give praise.
For the Lord God will help me;
therefore shall I not be confounded:
therefore have I set my face like a flint,
and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

When Tomorrow Comes By Brenda Drake

This is the first day of the New Year.  It is the gift of today; let us get tomorrow in focus by trusting and following the Lord today.

When Tomorrow Comes

I walk into tomorrow with the Word as a guide.
It lights my path and He dwells inside.
Because of God’s assurance and presence deep within,
I can walk ahead without fear as I follow after Him.
The world’s loud voice says all is lost,
But God speaks in a loving sound, meet me at the cross.
The world shows its hard muscles of deception and decay.
But my Lord instructs to bow our knee and pray.
Truth reigns victorious in the end.
Rest and have faith as you place your trust in Him.
Tomorrow is a mystery but one thing I know is true,
My God is already there and He leads us through.
Today is a good day to praise God above;
Giving thanks for His everlasting love.
When tomorrow comes it is the perfect time again,
To offer it as a today-gift, as you walk in faith with Him.

Matthew 6:33=34
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Happy New Year By Brenda Drake

Happy New Year

We are glad to say goodbye to our year past.
There are many memories as we look back.
Like some new sayings I do not like to hear.
I hope the phrase “new normal” disappears.
Did you forget your mask?  Did you sanitize?
Don’t touch your face, nose or your eyes.
Perhaps these things will linger in the year ahead,
But I will look ahead with hope, faith, and trust instead.
Even through our tribulations we are better perhaps.
As we cut away unneeded things and bring good things back.
I have cooked more and have eaten more too.
I cleaned out hidden places and unneeded things removed.
 Our atmosphere is cleaner they say.
I know I have taken more time to pray.
I have prayed more for my Country, my family and friends,
I have repented many times for my and our Country’s sins.
As we make our New Year’s resolutions,
To be a better person we should rest and watch for God’s solutions.
I truly wish for you all to prosper: to have a happy New Year.
Spiritually, physically, mentally blessed; rejoicing as this year disappears.

The Works of His Hand By Brenda Drake

        2020 has been quite a year… Soon starts the New Year I pray 2021 is happy and prosperous for all of you.  I truly believe God is good, and all the time I know God is good.

The Works of His Hand

Watch and see the hand of the Lord in the days ahead.”
Remember and rejoice at all the prophets have said.
Know the One that rules the earth has the last say.
Soon you see His intervention displayed.
Watch the peoples that did not see,
Turn their face to me.
Watch hearts cold as ice,
Look in favor at Jesus’ sacrifice.
The lukewarm their choice makes too.
Some will with great power move.
Watch and see the enemies of the cross,
Wander in fear, completely at loss.
Eyes are blinded by the Light;
Some come in wonder and cease to fight.
Others will know defeat has come;
All seeing eyes know Gods will is done.
Watch and pray in faith lift your voice in prayer.
Be sure to your faith with others share.
Watch and see your heart open up wider still.
Complete in the knowledge you walk in God’s will.
Heaven rejoices at God’s plan;
They know His goodness and trust in the work of His hands.

Psalms 145:5-11
I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty,
and of thy wondrous works.
 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts:
and I will declare thy greatness.
 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness,
and shall sing of thy righteousness.
 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion;
slow to anger, and of great mercy.
 The Lord is good to all:
and his tender mercies are over all his works.
 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord;
and thy saints shall bless thee.
 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom,
and talk of thy power;

How is it? How Can it Be? By Brenda Drake

Amidst our Christmas celebrations there is certain sadness; all is not alright in our world. In fact, it seems things are just upside down.  I have so many questions.  How is it?  How can this be? Why? What can we do? Who can help us?  When?  Even in my asking I truly know the answer. Our help comes from the Lord.

How is it?  How Can It Be?

How can it be that there are homeless in our streets?
And so many hopeless and helpless; fill with defeat?
How is it possible to say this is alright?
When our own people are neglected and abused in plain sight?
How can it be we would turn our own Nation aside,
To give other Nations a free ride?
Is now our whole perspective changed and upside down?
Are the weak and the poor cast aside the new way found?
Why is it what God says is wrong is now said is right?
Why is darkness and evil practices done now in plain sight?
Who is it that can answer my questions this day?
How is it things have so changed?  I pray,
Wake us up, open our eyes to see and know,
What needs to be done to things change. Lord Jesus, take control.
Soften our hearts and unstop our ears to the truth hear.
Help us Lord, to make evil ways disappear.

2 Chronicles 3:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Zephaniah 3:17-18
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;
he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy;
he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee,
to whom the reproach of it was a burden.

In His Hands By Brenda Drake

In His Hands By Brenda Drake

I woke up in the middle of the night with a song in my heart
It was a good way for my day to start.
It was a song we sang in school long ago.
It was not about Santa or sleigh rides or mistletoe.
It was not really a song normally heard at Christmastime.
But it seems very relevant in our trying times.
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!
O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife,
Who more than self their country love and mercy more than life!
As the words took root deep within I marveled at its prayer request.
America the beautiful… at this time in His love rest.
Place your future in His hands just as long our forefathers long ago;
Then sing your songs of salvation, Christ’s birth and mistletoe.

Happy Birthday Jesus By Brenda Drake

            Merry Christmas; to all our friends and family and Happy Birthday to Jesus. Thank you Father for the precious, holy gift You sent to our fallen world on that day long ago. Thank you Jesus, for coming to earth as a tiny baby; showing to us the perfect example of humanity, ultimately to die to pay our debt of sin.  Because You are risen victorious we are able to spend eternity with You.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Jesus, thank You for this day,
That we celebrate Your birth and give gifts away.
We can get so caught up on our preparations,
Leading up to our Christmas celebrations,
We sometimes forget why it is we gather at this time to share.
We go on with our day hardly acknowledging You are there.
Forgive us when we become so preoccupied,
That we forget You came to earth to for us die.
Help us to also think Your resurrection on this day,
And to each day honor You as You help us change our ways.
My Lord Jesus, born of a Virgin pure in a manger long ago,
I thank You for saving my soul.
So as a gift on this day I offer You my heart’s song;
As I remember on this day my eyes on You belong!

Luke 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Christmas Miracle By Brenda Drake

Jesus is the worlds greatest gift. His birth is the most miraculous birth; His death the most important and most costly death. His resurrection is our greatest hope. The truth of His provision by the work on the cross to the seeking, believing heart is the gift of a new reborn life; eternally made one with the One whos birth we now celebrate. He that came to earth as a babe, born of a virgin, suffered and died for our sins; now waits for the perfect time to return to gather us as His bride.

Christmas Miracle

 The birth of Jesus is the greatest miracle ever foretold.
The young mother in her arms the Creator would hold.
The earth that was formed by His hand;
Would feel the footsteps of the Son of man.
His appearance caused the star to shine its light.
The angels rejoiced at the entrance of the Christ.
Mankind celebrates by offering gifts to one another.
Songs of joy and goodwill are by many discovered.
But so many do not truly perceive the miracle of love at work;
Or the miracle of His life on the earth.
Many do not experience the gift bestowed upon them,
For He gives all the chance to be reborn in Him.
To truly appreciate the Christmas story,
His birth should be celebrated in two ways to give Him glory.
One of course is the way most can see;
When, in a stable the virgin God’s great gift received.
But the most important Christmas miracle is when He is born within you.
Then and only then will you hold the Creator too.

John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
