Christmas Story from Heavens Point of View By Brenda Drake

How beautiful is the Christmas story.  It is even more meaningful
from heavens point of view.

From Heaven’s View-Point

When the Christmas story is told from heaven’s point of view
Perhaps you will see better the gift bestowed on you.
The Father had placed His greatest in the care of man.
The Creator was in His creations hands.
The most precious, pure, and holy was placed,
In the young mother’s clumsy embrace.
The sweetest was sent to the world gone sour,
Born to die; to be by the earth devoured.
The Father’s wisdom into the babe was richly poured,
To be reviled by most and by some greatly adored.
The babe lay in a manger with stench to surround.
Beautiful baby born, so the truth could be found.
Angels sang an anthem of praise;
The star lit the sky to show the way.
Heaven held its breath at such love displayed,
To earth was delivered God’s provision to be saved
The Christmas story, the Easter Story and the story yet to come,
In the eyes of heaven, they are all seen as one
Soon, the One born to die, and raised up victorious; so you can be born anew,
Finishes the Christmas story, when He comes back to rule and reign with you.

Looking Back I See Ahead By Brenda Drake

  Looking Back I See Ahead

I see by faith, Mary large with child;
Assuring Joseph she was fine…trying to smile.
Surely she was uncomfortable, for she knew her time was here.
I can almost perceive her sigh as the inn drew near.
But it was not to be the place the Christ would be born.
There was no room available with a bed comfortable and warm.
In a manger lined with hay,
The head of the Son of God would be laid.
While the world was busy doing their own thing;
In a stable, was born the Savior-King.
The Angels could not contain the excitement, their voices rang clear;
So loud, the shepherds in the field could hear.
“The peace on earth” they sang about, will one day surely be.
Because, now in looking back, I see what He did on Calvary to set us free.
He, who was born in a manger, now prepares for me a place as the Word says.
I see by looking back the wonderful future that lies ahead.

Romans 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith

Jesus’ Christmas List By Brenda Drake

Jesus’ Christmas List

There are many that make out a Christmas list;
Things that they would like as gifts.
Some things are needed and some are not.
Some things are useful and some just things we want.
But if Jesus made a list,
I wonder, what would be His request?
What most would He desire?
I know …He wants to dress us in His Holy attire.
I believe on His list we would read:
Your heart is the most valued gift I could receive.
I desire, your life – dedicated to serve your brother,
With your pledge, to love one another.
Words that testify truth to all who will hear.
Confidence and trust that will chase away all your fears.
Commitment to listen for a call for help.
And your love that will to the needy soul reach out.
His requests cause to the one that will hear great peace,
For you cannot out give God – to obey will deliver increase.
Christmas is a special time when peace and love flows.
It is as God designed – it is by Him bestowed.
So in our celebrations we need to keep also in mind,
His list; for it is His birth we celebrate at this time!

John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,
if ye have love one to another.

Great Gifts are Remembered By Brenda Drake

Great Gifts Are Remembered

Sweet baby in a manger so long ago,
Touched mankind; in heart, mind and soul.
Sweet and pure with not one touch of sin,
He would grow up to take sin’s debt from them.
The joy and peace delivered in Bethlehem,
Was sent to save the sinner, just as the Father planned.
The loving gift of Jesus, what could more profound be?
God shed His love upon us, His only purpose to set us free.
The Christmas story is just as relevant today.
For when love is shared…God’s glory is displayed.
Great gifts are remembered when they beautifully touch the heart.
When Jesus love enters it never again departs.
Generous, loving Savior who was sent to earth to die in my place
I’m convinced You are God’s eternal gift supplied; such amazing grace!
I will celebrate Your birth with all those that touch my life,
In a joyful, festive way, that is still Christ-like.

John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

1 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Celebrate the Promise By Brenda Drake

Celebrate the Promise

Love flows free and hearts are warm within,
The Spirit of giving has entered in.
A special time set aside,
To honor the birth of Jesus Christ.
The wise indeed will teach the young
The reason for the season – to celebrate the birth of God’s Son.
A time to give praise for His birth,
And thanks for His great work done on earth.
Remembering the cradle, the cross, and the crown He now wears;
His birth, His death, and the new life He with us shares.
The wonderful gift wrapped in swaddling clothes on that day,
One day would be stripped bare, and clothed with sin and shame.
But the promise of glory we see ahead in faith;
It is the hope of glory, which we celebrate.
As we give gifts to others peace and goodwill flows free.
But, most of all remember Jesus was born to die for thee.
He is the gift that keeps giving; the whole year long.
Carry Him with you with a heart happy in joyful song!

Psalms 96:1-3
O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

Hope of the Homeless By Brenda Drake

A sad, sad world watches all the fesivities from afar.

Hope of a Homeless

There is no tree, no stocking, and no joy at this time of year.
The heart is heavy with unshed tears.
Happy memories try to surface but are pushed down,
By the unsavory circumstances that now my life surrounds.
People are bustling, rushing by with purpose,
Alive with the planned joys of Christmas.
I have heard that Jesus loves me,
And hear that He cares.
I have experienced some answered prayers.
But I wonder will anyone see the mess I am in?
Will I be invited to the festivities enter in?
Yes I am the homeless one you do not see.
I will in hope pray you will see me

Jesus loved us before we loved Him
He died to free all from bondage and sin.
What better gift could we offer Him on this day?
Than to His love to another display.

Matthew 25:45
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Big Things in Small Package By Brenda Drake

Big Things in Small Packages

That big things come in small packages is true.
I will give some examples to you.
Great commitment is represented most agree,
By the tiny ring , that accompanies the groom upon his knee.
All heaven and earth will one day testify
Even the smallest truth will not be denied.
Take the example of a tiny seed;
Within its little shell lives the start of a tree.
An encouraging spoken word, may become
A huge, directional-change for someone.
Many gifts are placed under Christmas trees,
As expressions of love, and kindness to be received;
But the Greatest Gift ever bestowed is Jesus Christ.
Upon a rugged tree your biggest gift was sacrificed.
In the little town of Bethlehem, a child was to a virgin born.
In this tiny, little bundle the Creator of the world was formed.
He that made the earth and all off a far too,
Was in this little package; delivered from the Father to you.
Remember God in your giving, as you celebrate the birth of His Son;
By planting small seeds of faith, in the hearts of both old and young.
Immense is the God of all that is and is to be,
But, He also is small enough to abide within all who are His, for eternity.

2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Special Gifts Delivered By the True Gift By Brenda Drake

believe

We were a young family, very poor, alone in a large, strange city.  The prospect of a present under the tree for our two children was bleak.   This was our first experience of a Christmas miracle.

Special Gifts Delivered by the True Gift

When we were young in our marriage …barely starting out in life;
I really didn’t know about the True Gift – Jesus Christ.
But now, when I look back I can clearly see,
That even back then, He delivered special gifts to me.
On one special occasion when our princess was tiny and baby boy only months old,
We were delivered a Christmas gift, that even now, is a precious memory we hold.
We lived alone in a large city;  in an apartment on a second floor.
On Christmas Eve we still didn’t have presents for the little ones we adored.
It was heart-breaking,  but there was no money at all left.
We reluctantly gave up, and resigned ourselves to it.
Then to our surprise we looked into our mailbox; and what did we see?
A small refund check …..How could this be?
We rejoiced even though we  knew there had been a mistake made.
But now I  know the “True Christmas Gift” who delivered us that special gift that day
Our hearts were opened, to see and to understand,
The one  born to die for us; all good things come from His hands
Now my children and their children have Christmas memories too.
I am so thankful we all have hearts delivered by Jesus the one gift true.

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from
the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

The Inocent By Brenda Drake

The Innocent

Bright lighted trees line the streets with good cheer;
All signs of good tidings, with festive music to hear.
Together child and adult can clearly see
The joy of Christmas day fast approaching.
There are songs about Santa, reindeer, and sleds in the snow,
And lively tunes of the joys of mistletoe.
You may hear every once and awhile,
The Christmas story, of the virgin-mother and child.
You may see an image of babe in a manger- frozen in time past;
To remind of the Christmas real reason as you in wonder look back.
Sweet little children will only learn of the Holy virgin birth,
And about the Savior that left heaven to be born on earth,
From caring parents or others who faithfully of Christ testify.
Christmas-times real reason is only then kept alive!

  Deuteronomy 6:7
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Thanks for the Little Things By Brenda Drake

Thanks for the Little Things

As I sit in my favorite chair getting ready to praise my Lord;
I begin to think of all I am thankful for.
Some things quickly come to mind,
Such as food, clothing, shelter, and fun family times.
But, what about the simple things taken for granted each day?
Like this quiet time I have to pray.
The hot cup of coffee sweetened to my taste;
And the precious luxury of a warm, inviting place.
What about all the times spent with family and friends,
And all the meaningful, loving conversations with each of them?
I am also thankful for our Church family that spreads across many miles,
And all the wonderful revelations that causes my heart to smile.
As I write down my thoughts of all I’m thankful for,
I see there are countless blessings received from my Lord.
Soon I must get ready for our big day planned,
So my family can partake of God’s provisions prepared by my hand.
A Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings….my diet is soon to be crashed
But also I am thankful my family loves me even if I’m fat!!!

Psalms 92:1
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praise
unto thy name, O most High:
