Muscle of the Soul by Brenda Drake

When we are born again we are but babes in Christ.  Life under the leadership of our Lord and by the teaching of the Word builds us stronger as we grow in faith.

Muscle of the soul

Muscles are formed when they are put to work.
It is not easy for under extra exertion they hurt.
Faith is as the muscle of soul;
When it is tested true strength is known.
Heavy trials that have been a part of your life,
Builds strength when you lift them to Christ.
It is work studying and believing God’s Word,
And standing in confidence on it firm.
When you lift the Word in your prayers,
And your testimony is with others shared;
Hope muscles are built strong too.
Faith begins to in great power move.
The hard work pays answer comes;
With God’s strength you overcome.
Trust and faith becomes fervent within.
It is never too late to exercise programs begin.
One day you will be able to tell the mountain to depart,
For God’s power speaks from your heart.
The Word of God wielded in your hand,
Chases the enemy from your land.
With faith you do not accept defeat in any way,
For you know God answers when you the Word pray.

I John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Wishful Thinker or Man of Faith By Brenda Drake

I used to be a daydreamer.  I was rich, famous, and beautiful in my mind and I would have the world at my beck and call.  Now I have hopes and dreams that I have placed in my heavenly Father’s care.  I desire His will more than any of the things I use to think I wanted or needed; in fact the strange thing is I no longer desire most of my once sought dreams.

Wishful Thinker or Man of Faith

Wishful thinking, you have heard of this.
It usually means a hoped for something that does not exist.
A desire, a need, or a dream in the mind,
That fits into the plan of your own design.
There are some that live each day,
Day dreaming their lives was a different way.
Perhaps they dream they become rich or famous or very wise;
Anything to make them seem greater in their own eyes.
God changes a wishful thinker into a great man of faith,
Where hopes and dreams materialize to be embraced.
Faith is something hoped for that you cannot see.
But who you have faith in is the key.
Look in God’s Word; find what He desires for you to possess.
And then have faith you will receive what is for your best.
Do you want to be great? Learn to be least.
Do you want wisdom?  In the Word take feast.
Do you want to be helped” A helper become,
Do you want friends? Then be friendly to someone.
Are you in need of riches?  Give all and follow Christ,
And He truly will enrich your life.
A man of faith knows he will receive what he asks.
When he aligns his wishes with what God has already stated as facts.
Your dreams become reality;
All you have desired, one day you will be,
Claim God’s will for you, do not hesitate.
Do not settle for wishful thinking- be instead a man of faith.

1 Corinthians 2:5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Child-like in Faith By Brenda Drake

           I mistakenly used to think child-like faith was to unquestionably take life and its ups and downs without hesitantly and without question.  But, truly my children were always full of questions. When they were afraid they would run to me for an answer to help put their fears to rest.  They believed I was there to tell the truth, to assist, protect, and to comfort them.  We as God’s children should also know and trust He hears and answers prayer with our best interest at heart. When there is no immediate answer what then?  Stand in trust, have faith God will and does fight our battle.

Childlike in Faith

Childlike-faith faces the day without fear;
As long as the one that cares for them is near.
The healthy, well-loved child through faith sees,
A world that holds great promise and beauty.
But in times of trouble when winds of life blow strong,
Childlike-faith listens, and draws close to where they belong.
When an enemy or menacing stranger tries to pull them astray,
The wise, obedient child resists and turns the other way.
The follower of Jesus; the one that has faith to spare;
Will like a child his good news share.
Wise like His Master; his confidence in God above,
Helps him make wise decisions as he trusts in His love.
When the world darkens in its threatening stance,
Childlike; yet with God’s strength, they face circumstance.
Full trusting God hears their prayer and answers the way best;
With supernatural ability they stand, in spiritual armors dressed.
With heart prepared to the battle win,
And yet like the small child, at rest within.

Luke 18:17
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God
as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Ephesians 6:14-18
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Faith is Like… By Brenda Drake

At times I feel I understand and have faith and at other times I have none because of unbelief.  Real faith is in God and His Word.  We do not always possess great faith but faith the size of a mustard seed is enough. Hold unto your faith, God is in control.

Faith is Like

Faith is like technology; it takes a while to grasp,
But when you do the world opens up, in fact,
You are able to do much more than you ever thought you could.
And you can accomplish much more than you ever thought you would.
Faith is like a light that illuminates the mind;
What was not comprehended is clearly defined.
Faith sees what is not seen by the eyes.
In confidence faith’s expectations will not be denied.
Faith is like the sleeping giant that does not know his might;
But when revived, is unstoppable, and ready to fight.
Faith in God and in His holy word,
Will speak forth the impossible and when it is heard,
Angels rush to greet it and the demons flee;
For the light of God’s power shakes the heavenly.
Faith is just a word that exclaims,
The truth the Father wills in Jesus’ name.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea;

Expectancy is Another Word for Faith By Brenda Drake

I used to expect trouble, kind of like Murphy’s Law.  I expected to fail, and I did.  I have since learned to hope for what God’s Word says.  I expect the God that loved us so much He died for our sins to finish the work He started.  I no longer live anticipating bad news; I am living the Good News watching and expecting for God’s provision and His intervention.

Expectancy is Another Word for Faith

My hope for the future is colored bright.
I expect wrongs will be changed to right.
In every difficult step we take
I expect new strength in renewed faith.
Hope and expectation holds unto faith’s hand.
The three unite to accomplish God’s plan.
Just as we hope for a child, we in faith expect,
Our beautiful God-given gift.
Love grants what we have faith to receive.
God gave all we can hope for to set us free.
When down in the dumps and hope and expectancy is low;
Faith in God’s love lifts me up and it will not let me go.
Hope is renewed like a fresh rain on parched ground,
And expectancy for God’s favor again is found.
Faith looks up and will not look back
God’s love again, pulls hope, expectation, and faith; united back on track.

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Faith Walking By Brenda Drake

1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

            It is not always fun or easy but I have never, in looking back, been disappointed in the eventual outcome of my faith walk. God turns hard struggles into victory; although it may not look or feel like victory at the time, it is later evident God was leading and guiding to the way that was best.

Faith Walking

Let us talk about faith, what does it mean?
Faith walking is to the natural man an extreme.
Most feel they must see the direction they take,
With eyes are wide open for safety’s sake.
To see obstacles that causes them to fall down;
To see the enemies that is around.
Faith walking may seem as extreme as I have said.
Walking in faith you do not make your own way – you are led.
You must have complete trust in the One that helps you along.
If you stumble, you need to trust, that He, in you is strong.
When there is danger you need to believe no harm
Destroys, for you know the One that guides your arm.
To the world it is foolish to allow another to be in control of you.
To most… to walk in faith is called a fool.
The ones that think they see, blindly walks into the enemy’s snare.
They are being led astray, though they are unaware.
Faith walkers believe God is in perfect control
Even if only bad circumstances they behold
Faith walkers know Jesus loves their life more than they do.
He calls, Come, my chosen, I faith-walk with you.

Psalms 4:8
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

Prayer
I walk ahead knowing You lead and guide my path.  My steps are ordered by the Lord. If God be for me who can be against me?
