Happy Birthday Jesus By Brenda Drake

            Merry Christmas; to all our friends and family and Happy Birthday to Jesus. Thank you Father for the precious, holy gift You sent to our fallen world on that day long ago. Thank you Jesus, for coming to earth as a tiny baby; showing to us the perfect example of humanity, ultimately to die to pay our debt of sin.  Because You are risen victorious we are able to spend eternity with You.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Jesus, thank You for this day,
That we celebrate Your birth and give gifts away.
We can get so caught up on our preparations,
Leading up to our Christmas celebrations,
We sometimes forget why it is we gather at this time to share.
We go on with our day hardly acknowledging You are there.
Forgive us when we become so preoccupied,
That we forget You came to earth to for us die.
Help us to also think Your resurrection on this day,
And to each day honor You as You help us change our ways.
My Lord Jesus, born of a Virgin pure in a manger long ago,
I thank You for saving my soul.
So as a gift on this day I offer You my heart’s song;
As I remember on this day my eyes on You belong!

Luke 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Tremendous Truth Emerges By Brenda Drake

What is truth?  Is the world’s truth at odds with what you have always thought true? Where does our help come from?  Who is Truth?  Jesus is Truth, Life and the Way.  We are wise when we watch to see Truth reign in our life and in our surroundings.  Look up and embrace the truth.  He has the final word for He is also The Word of God.

Tremendous Truth Emerges

The God of truth stands tall, His love pours down.
Your faith rises up and again truth is found.
The wise of the world makes their plans,
And with power-hungry vision makes demands.
The truly wise watch for God’s plan to unfold,
With humble heart its value is untold.
Terrible times are faced with God’s strength within,
The wise place all their trust in Him.
When the truth is camouflaged and is unclear,
The wise turns to God’s wisdom hear.
When the air is filled with hateful sounds,
The wise finds the way to higher ground.
There in air is filled with love, peace and joy too.
For in God the wise breathe and move.
The world is ready to pick a fight,
Choosing the way wrong instead of right.
But there is One that will surely win.
All praise and honor belongs to Him.
Tremendous truth emerges, love, hope, and faith rise up strong.
God again turns the table to what belongs.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Pick Up, Lift Up and Lay Them Down By Brenda Drake

In our disturbed world there is ample opportunity to become overcome with worry, fear, and hopelessness. There is hope for the troubled soul.  Every heartache, heavy burden, circumstance, and disquieting thought we can lift up in prayer, and lay them at Jesus feet.  He is able to handle it much better than we can.

Pick Up, Lift Up and Lay them Down

Pick it up and then lay it down,
Bring every situation in your life to higher ground.
Every heartache, heavy burden and disquieting thought that makes a stand,
And every circumstance that invades your land,
Pick them up and lift them up to the One that hears and answers prayer;
Then lay them down at His feet and leave them there.
When the pain of them again come to mind;
Repeat the instructions yet another time.
When you do this with faith within,
The sun will shine bright inside of you again.
Pick up, lift up, and lay them down,
Turn away from them and walk on higher ground.
Your inner strength and inner convictions are infused with trust and faith,
That the One you love and serve does not hesitate.
Jesus is able to carry all your woes with ease each day.
Great is the victory when you live this way.
Placing in your mind things good and true,
Enjoying the blessings all around you.

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Mathew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The Struggle; the Battle By Brenda Drake

Many times I am sorry to testify I’ve allowed flesh to have its way.  Perhaps it’s only a burst of anger permitted to speak its venom or by my silence or disobedience I have dishonored my Lord.  But He is so faithful, always urging me confess my sins and to repent of my evil ways. At one of these times I received this poem that helped me through a time of struggle to go into battle.

The Struggle; the Battle

Unsettled, tossed about in the mind;
Hanging on tight to what you must leave behind.
There is a struggle – the flesh desires are strong;
That fights against the place God says belongs.
Wanton in nature – pleasure seeking is its quest.
Fighting against what God says is best.
God loves with a passion you cannot comprehend.
He sees the great struggle deep within.
Not seeking evil; you fight against evil every day.
The self will must be crucified to live God’s way.
Every man has a battle they struggle with within.
It will continue until Jesus comes for them.
But look up with confidence for your help is not off afar;
For, God is with you right where you are.
He loves you through your trying times;
God says, I am your God and you are mine,
You will never be far away from my perfect will;
When you come to me daily to be refilled.

Psalms 9:9-10
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought the obedience of Christ;  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Deuteronomy 20:4
For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

Access, Assurance, Acceptance, and Acknowledgment By Brenda Drake

Salvation is the greatest gift I have ever received.  I am proud to tell the world I am a born again believer.  It is my pleasure sharing the Good News with all I meet.  I am free to serve the One I adore, by serving the ones He died to save from sin’s trap.

Access, Assurance, Acceptance, and Acknowledgment

I ignorantly was walking toward what I could not see;
A forever separation from whatever was good for eternity.
When truth was brought before my bewildered eyes,
My precarious situation was recognized.
As fear quaked the foundation of my life,
I was introduced to the provision of Jesus Christ.
He brought me to the place,
Where, I had access to His amazing grace.
He assured me; He had me in mind the day,
He died, to my debt of sin pay.
At His invitation, I grasped on with delight.
He accepted me into His glorious light.
Fear was replaced with hope and peace within.
My blinded eyes were opened.
The once sure damnation of my soul,
Is now forever canceled.
The joy of salvation, is a endless song my heart sings,
As an anthem of praise, to Jesus my King.
He acknowledges me as His each and every day
I wish to also acknowledge Him in all I do, think, and say.

Colossians 2:2-3
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;  In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Prayer
Thank You, thank You, thank You; is all my grateful heart sings.  Help me be a witness to the good work You do within.

Only You Can Glorify Him By Brenda Drake

My life-purpose began the day I stepped out in faith to speak to God’s children His messages of love and hope.  What a loving God we serve.  He chooses to use us to help others as He continues to help us.  It is my joy to serve Him by sharing His love with others.  He loves everyone and desires for all to glorify Him; no one else can fill your shoes.

Only You Can Glorify Him

Glorify the heavenly Father by your life
No one else is able to take your place to glorify Christ.
You are uniquily, wonderfully made – no one else will do
You are the only one that can fit in the place prepared for you.
Every man has a place purposed in the heart of God’s plan.
No one needs to stay outside the camp.
Every person who ever lived is able to become,
With God and in God as one.
Inside man’s heart there is a void that needs to be filled;
That only finds satisfaction when doing as the Father wills.
To glorify Jesus you need not perform;
But to glorify Him you do need to be reborn.
Give your life to Him – He gave His life for thee.
Submit to His ways  as He planned to be.
To glorify Jesus – do all you can for right,
And rest assured; He is glorified by His work in your life.
This then is the fulfilled – the most pleasant task;
Living to please the Savior and doing as He asks,
And walking with faith believing He is in full control.
Because of this you are complete and whole.
Make time to glorify God on this day,
As you lift up your love in worship and in praise.

Psalms 86:12-13
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

2 Corinthians 6:2
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

No Waiting Lines By Brenda Drake

            I used to feel I needed to act and speak a certain way to get God’s attention. And even then if I gained access I may or may not receive an answer to my petitions.  I now know God loves me and He not only hears every prayer; His desire is to help me in all my needs.  In any place or position is the right time to pray, we have immediate access- no waiting lines.

No Waiting Lines

In the world you must take a ticket and wait in line;
You are not accepted until it’s your time.
No matter the problem you must wait your turn.
If you lose your patience and leave you will have to return;
Start over back to the back and no one even notices you were away.
You must take a ticket and you must in line stay.
Now it does cause order instead of confusion and strife;
t can be tiring… but necessary to do things right.
God does not need long lines nor do you have to wait;
You are accepted immediately into the gates.
Immediate access is guaranteed.
You can run, walk, or enter on your knees.
God is always willing to listen – know this is so.
He is always interested in your life and always in control.
f you fail and feel unworthy… repent and go right on in.
You do not have to work your way up to God again.
Most lose sight of this truth – they believe they must suffer awhile,
Before the God of Heaven, will again upon them smile.
But I tell you earnestly this is not true.
Your God loves you so much – He runs out to meet you.
He says, “Come in prayer and we will commune you and I”
“And I’ll fill you up with my peace and joy.”
“I will take away fear and give you hope and the confidence to testify,”
“To another that they also know they do not need to stand in line!”

Jeremiah 29:12-13
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Psalms 66:17-20
I cried unto him with my mouth,
and he was extolled with my tongue.
 If I regard iniquity in my heart,
the Lord will not hear me:
 But verily God hath heard me;
he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer,
nor his mercy from me.

Daddy I am Hurting By Brenda Drake

 Probably my lack of a father’s love made it a lot harder to understand the great love of my Heavenly Father.  I would find myself afraid every time I failed of His judgment falling; like the hard rod I experienced as a child. But God was always so kind and gentle in His correction.  I so loved Him and wanted to please Him with all my heart – but the old sinful nature was at war with my new walk.   I needed to learn how to truly repent!   The Father was and still is, so patient and loving with me.   I have learned that this is the love of my “Abba Father”… my daddy God.

Daddy I am Hurting

Like a little child I come and pray;
Abba Father, I am hurting, please take my pain away.
I know I’ve been foolish and not the way I should
But Daddy, help me to be good.
May I crawl on Your lap and rest awhile,
So I can feel the sunshine of Your smile?
May I snuggle closer into Your sweet care,
For Your comfort and to Your encouragement share?
I need to hide awhile in safe shelter from the mighty winds that blow;
For sometimes I am uncovered, in a world that is harsh and cold.
I need to draw upon Your strength and to be reassured,
That our love is unbroken and in You I’m secure.
Chase away all the doubts and fears so they will not stay.
Thank You for being with me each and every day.
Wrap Your arms around me Lord so my confidence will increase;
As You administer to my aching soul new abiding peace.
Thank You my Lord for dwelling my heart within,
So we can always meet like this in prayer to make me strong again.

Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Holy Comforter By Brenda Drake

       There are times when only the Holy Spirit is able to successfully show us the comfort we need at just the right time. Only God can know exactly how we are feeling and only He can touch us in our most needy situations.  He indeed is the Comforter of our soul.

Holy Comforter

There is One near that you cannot see
He is the One that dries the tears for thee.
He walks where angels cannot tread.
He hears every word ever said.
He is always kind and gentle to the aching heart.
He is the One that kindles loves fires to start.
He builds up and makes strong the damaged and weak.
He gives comfort to the soul that seeks.
This One comes at the whispered prayer;
And He truly for you cares.
His healing touch raises the dead.
He nourishes the starving, and strengthens the underfed.
The Comforter is sent as a gift from above,
To prove and to show the Heavenly Father’s love.
He speaks of salvation and lifts up Jesus’ name.
When the Holy Spirit enters, a life is never again the same.
Sweet words of wisdom will fill the mouth with praise;
Great is the thanks of a soul that has been saved.
For they are greatly assured of the work of the cross;
So abundant is the peace – no longer are they lost.
The Light of the universe lives within alive;
For the Comforter makes residence inside.
Reach out and give comfort to another lost soul.
God’s love from within you now overflows
The Comforter even now gives a word of rhyme to touch the ear,
With some more comforting words for you to hear.

Revelations 2:29
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

John 14:15-18
If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Lost in His Love By Brenda Drake

            The love of God for us is so great that at times it almost boggles the mind.  It is difficult at times to take the time to explore the presence of God; by praying, praising, worshiping, or by studying the Word.  I have found that when I do make the effort the time flies by, I get lost in His love, and I do not want to leave.

Lost in His Love

Love embraced the lost so they could be,
Lost in His embrace eternally.
Completely enamored in this place,
Lost in the wonder of His amazing grace,
In the inexpressible realm of forever with God as one;
Marveling in the endless love of Father, Spirit, and Son.
Great treasures are revealed and truth rules and reigns;
All the lost are found and with Him remain.
The angels marvel at love’s grand display;
Showered upon the chosen who are in opulent array.
Every heart has a love song for their Savior-King.
In harmony and in accord with God every heart sings.
In great swelling waves of desire they are swept off their feet,
Lost in Love’s embrace, exactly where always they were meant to be.

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Ephesians 3:18-19
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God
