Fixed By Brenda Drake

I have always been a little strong willed; now I am strong willed for Jesus.  I set my face like flint to do the will of the One that is my help in every way.

Fixed

Set your heart and fix your face,
Steadily walk ahead and its way embrace.
The hard path is not walked alone,
God leads the way home.
The easy way full of joy and love will be,
Well lighted and well-marked for thee.
Fixed: with a heart that continues to praise,
That will not allow life to pull you astray.
Keep on walking My friend.
You will be victorious in the end.
Will you fear defeat or will you proclaim,
Fixed for full healing in Jesus’ name?

I will fix my face, I will not stray.
I will heed God’s Word and its instructions obey.
I will not allow the poison of world opinion pull me down.
I watch for Your help to pull me to higher ground.
I fix my face to continue to do as ordained.
Indeed a conqueror, all praise and glory goes to Jesus’s name.

Psalms 57:7
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed:

Isaiah 50:7
I will sing and give praise. For the Lord God will help me;
therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint,
and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Carry On By Brenda Drake

`           Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  This poem tells us much the same Godly advice.  Do not cave in, do not stop; trust the help of the One that kept on the path to finish His good work in our behalf on the cross.  Whatever comes we must set our face and our heart to carry on, to finish the work set before us; with His help we are victorious!

Carry On

Carry on warriors; battles rage day and night;
If you persevere, the enemy takes flight.
Carry on child, great strength is on your knees.
Pray the Word; praise and trust wins you victories.
Carry on weary traveler that walks the harsh land below.
Tell others of the Savior that died to save their soul.
Carry on – continue the work you have begun,
That gives glory and honor to your Savior, God’s Son.
Do not tarry, ready yourselves for the Bride Grooms returns.
Know overcomers a great honor earns.
Carry on watchmen, tell others what you see.
Give them the warnings I give to thee.
Carry on all who listen, the Word tells you the same.
For all that continues, receives a new name.
All that overcome in the trials of life shall see;
The great arrival of Jesus, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings
All that carry on shall not be alone any more
For the One that is and was, will be with you forever more

Revelations 3:21
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

John 15:7-9
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

Focus of Life By Brenda Drake

Focused

Jesus is not only my Lord; He is my Savior and best friend.  He is not only the light of my life He is the Light of my world.  My life is not worth living without Jesus.  Jesus is the main focus of my life.

Focus of Life

Why do I write only about Jesus? He is always on my mind.
Why do I follow Jesus?  I do not want to fall behind.
Why do I look for Jesus in my day?
Because I know He is the way.
Why do I count on Jesus and trust Him with my life?
Because I know He loves me and He proved it when He died.
Where could I find a better place?
He is my whole reason to live; I hunger for His embrace.
What purpose is this day if not to please the One I adore?
There is little pleasure for me outside the presence of the Lord.
I care for God, family, and friends,
And the lost souls left to bring to Him.
I cannot think of anything or anyone I would rather think about.
Jesus is the focus of my life; for this I have no doubt.

Hebrew 12:2
Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Your Help and Our Cooperation By Brenda Drake

Our world at this time causes such turmoil within. Everything seems to be upside down and backwards, with uncertainties on every side.  Just as when Peter stepped out onto the water; we in a sense are doing the same.  But know when we keep our eyes on Jesus and not the waves (circumstances) we are able to accomplish great things. We, the Church are lights in the darkness.  Jesus said His sheep hear His voice.  The Word of God tells us we are more than conquerors in Christ.  With God’s help and our cooperation we will finish well.  With His help we will be His ambassadors in a trouble land so His will is done on earth as it is in heaven.  This poem is my prayer.  I believe Holy Spirit desired me to write it as our prayer.

Your Help and Our Cooperation

Teach us how to cooperate with Your plan.s
Help us to pray knowing with Your help we can.
As our everyday problems arise,
Help us see the situations through Your eyes.
With Your help and our cooperation Thy will is done;
Then and only then, are we able to glorify God’s Son.
Take us to the place when each day becomes,
A joint effort with You and us to get things done.
Holy, precious, Jesus our heart’s desire,
Is to become vessels of use, to catch the world afire.
One day at a time walking to the place,
Where we are able to fully feel Your embrace.
Lover of our souls, build us up strong,
So even in a troubled world we will sing Salvation’s song.
Take us and make us into an ambassador for Christ;
That serves heart, mind, and soul with our life.
Light up the dark places to help us see clear.
Open up our hearts and minds to Your instructions hear.
With Your help and our cooperation Your will on earth is done.
When it is all over we will give all glory and honor to Jesus, God’s Son.

Romans 12:11-13
Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

2 Corinthians 4:7-10
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

Move On By Brenda Drake

In our troubled world, with it contrary winds that blow against what we want, desire and believe as true we may become discouraged with our life and become weary in our well-doing.  We get side-tracked and lose sight of our kingdom-goals and purposes. We need to do three things; get back into the presence of our Lord and the Bible; then with His strength and new purpose move to get up
and carry on.

Move On

When you have rested awhile in the presence of the Son,
And He has restored your inner smile in light of all He has done.
Then it is time to pick up your bed
To move on to the place the Spirit paves ahead.
When you have been freed from the heavy burden on your back,
And the light shines bright upon your path.
It’s time to walk on with purpose to your step.
Move on to the opened door; God is not finished with you yet.
Move on with confidence I lead the way.
Move on with assurance God plans your every day.
When the clouds cover the land with its discouraging sounds,
Rejoice in the knowledge you walk on Holy ground.
Angels watch over you and gives strength when you are weak.
They give muscle to the words you for God’s kingdom speaks.
You are ready and willing and God makes you able to do,
All He has ordained; all you need to do is move.

Proverbs 16:3
Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.

Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Philippians 4:10
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Look Up as You Climb By Brenda Drake

About the time we think all is smooth going along comes a mountain.  When we keep our eyes on our problem we do not get anywhere.  When wise we will take our eyes off the issue at hand and on the Word of God.  Instead of struggling by ourselves we have the privilege of asking assistance from our Lord. He is our help in times of trouble.  Instead looking down in discouragement we need to look up in faith as we continue on.

Look Up as You Climb

Look up as you God’s promises seek,
In confidence God’s Word speak.
When facing a mountain do not turn to look around.
Keep your focus on Jesus till you reach higher ground.
What is the mountain? It can be many things,
That attempt to hamper your way to the King,
Worry, fear, sadness, or despair,
It can be a thought of depression of life unfair.
Your mountain may be a person or a habit hard to break.
It can be the remembrance of a dire mistake.
Mountains are only a mountain to you.
They are not hard to the One that helps you through.
Mountains are removed when faith speaks.
Jesus, The Word, faced your largest mountain at Calvary.
Look up in your hard struggle and with faith pray.
God gives strength to climb or He moves the mountain out of your way.

Psalms 121:1-2
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
