The Precious Gift of Time By Brenda Drake

One holiday season when money was scarce, it ended being one of our best Christmas memories.  We spent quality time with those we loved; our homemade gifts were heartfelt love-offerings for one another.  I spent extra time making cookies and candies for our family, friends and neighbors with no thought of receiving a gift in return.

The Precious Gift of Time

Sometimes all you have to give is just your time.
It is a precious gift and is hard to find.
Time is money they say;
So it is not easily given away.
The gift of prayer lifted some do not see.
But its benefit is gratefully received.
Time spent loving the neighbor next door,
Is a gift to them and also to the Lord.
Time’s gift is bestowed on you too.
It is a precious gift God shares with you.
When you offer your life to Christ,
It is a gift that causes the Father delight.
In the gift-giving season as you celebrate the birth of God’s Son,
Remember to spend some quality time with your loved ones.
Whenever you have opportunity, take time to pray;
For leaders, for Country and those sad, to have a good day.
Sometimes all you have to give is your time.
But it is the best gift for it is preciously hard to find.

Ephesians 5:15-17
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Love Never Takes a Vacation By Brenda Drake

Jesus is our example in every way.  He loved us so much He died to save us from the consequences of our sins, and eternal loss. We also need to learn to love….By dying to the selfish nature that places our own needs and desires above those of others that touch our lives. In our families we have ample opportunity to practice the Lord’s example set before us. The Holy Spirit will help us when we choose to do as our  God desires.  Lord, help us to choose to do the good, right thing even when it hurts and it feels so wrong!

Love Never Takes a Vacation

Love never takes a vacation; God displays His love on every side.
His creation shouts “It is good to be alive.”
Love extends itself in the sunshine and in the rain.
It is evident in every place; even in great pain.
Love offered His life to pay the debt of sin.
There was no greater pain than what was endured by Him.
Love said, “Forgive them they know not what they do”
His love is so generous; He still shares His love with you.
Love fills your life with His breath.
Love follows the faithful even unto death.
When you become weary, love will revive and give you strength.
When you are thirsty, love is the sweet water for you to drink.
When you are hungry and become thin,
He will place you at His table and will feed you again.
The world has a darkness that is very black it’s true;
But one act of love will light the way for you.
Evil and hatred is on every side,
But they flee when in love you abide.

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Eternal Destination by Brenda Drake

We tend to believe the ultimate destination for the soul is from our birth to the day we die.  Now I know the greatest journey is from death to eternal life in Jesus.  From the day we are born we are dead to the Spirit of God.  When we accept what Jesus did for us in His sacrifice on the cross we are reborn into eternal life in God’s kingdom.

Eternal Destination is found in Him

Eternal destination is secured in Christ.
Through death’s door is found life.
Life like never imagined will be.
Such is the place secured for thee.
The flower of heaven walks at your side.
As you bloom; grandly completely wholly alive.
The air sparkles with expectation and joy that surrounds.
Your feet are planted forever on Holy Ground.
Joyous songs fill the heart, soul, and mind,
With sweet assurance and gratitude as designed.
Love wraps you in a forever embrace,
All eternally provided by His amazing grace.
Oh what joy, peace and love flows,
To and from every blood purchased soul.
The loving Father smiles; the knee bows in worship and praise,
As hearts are filled they lift their gaze,
To behold the wondrous beauty of the one they adore.
They are overwhelmed with love for the Lord.
Jesus, the Savior and closest friend,
An eternal destination of joy is found secured in Him.

1 John 5:11-12
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

The Song By Brenda Drake

Lord I thank you for the joy that fills my heart in times of praise.   Help me to learn to dance unashamed and uninhibited before you like David danced.

The Song

The beautiful melody flows like a river within;
Peaceful, restful full of Him.
It sounds like silence to the ear,
But within its message sounds so clear.
The love is so special, only meant for me.
Jesus’ gift to a saved soul set free.
Salvation’s song is precious beyond compare;
Lovely truths that I can with others share.
Love’s songs are full of light and life;
That shines hope to cause inner delight.
Eternal comfort with promise of undying favor bestowed;
Much more precious than any treasure the hands can hold
Its tune causes sweet desperation within,
That hungers and thirsts only for Him.
Sweet Song of joy that bubbles and flows inside;
Set my feet to dancing with Jesus as in Him I abide.

Psalms 40:3
And he hath put a new song in my mouth,
even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Do You Love Me? By Brenda Drake

     We profess our love for God, but when we turn away from someone in need, I believe Jesus would also need to ask us again.  Do you love me?

Do You Love Me?

Do you love me, asked the Master three times in one day.
Each time He heard the answer but He asked again anyway.
Each time He asked, Peter’s heart underlined his answer clear.
Jesus desired for Peter to his own heart hear.
When he said “Yes, I love you”
At first it was an automatic response… although true.
The next time he was very aware of his love professed.
But the last time he answered – his heart responded best.
“Feed my sheep” was the Master’s entreaty to Peter each time.
We too need to feed His sheep. For our love to be clearly defined;
We need to also love them, and take extra care,
To deliver the truth and to cover them with prayer.
To feed the sheep is to show respect and as a sacrifice of self;
Listen to them and when they have need… help
Whatever you do for the least of them you do for God above.
Do you love me is the question? How will you prove your love?

John 21:17
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
