You Fill My Day By Brenda Drake

            I used to feel very empty; I had little purpose and I had fears of every kind.  Then I found the Lord and He completely filled every part of me; heart, mind, body and soul. Each day is a new day I get to live with Him, in Him, and with Him within me. Oh yes Jesus now fills my day.

You Fill My Day

You fill my day with sunshine even in the rain.
You are a comfort to my soul that in trouble remains.
You take away fear that tries to overtake,
With Your strength within it all the difference makes.
Faith grows and flourishes when I plant Your Word within.
It covers like a shield to protect darts from entering in.
You provide my every need; all I need to do is ask.
Under Your covering in rest I bask.
My heart sings a tune that continues night and day,
A love song that changes in each prayer prayed.
I am led by Holy Spirit, who is steadfast and true,
Guiding me with persistent care to the right way choose.
Jesus You are the Way, the one way to love’s eternal touch.
I am overwhelmed with the prospect of such love.
You are all I need, everything else falls behind.
You are True-Love and I am thrilled You are mine.

Psalms 73:25-26
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Darling of My Heart By Brenda Drake

One day  I was teasing my small grand-daughter and she said Gramma don’t  call me that, and I asked her what she wanted me to call her.  In her sweet voice she answered “Darling.” She indeed was and is my little darling but Jesus holds the forever endearment in my heart.

Darling in My Heart
by Brenda Drake

There is no one more special to me;
The most valuable, most important for eternity.
I will praise Him with words and songs new;
Reaching higher and wider to express all my heart wants too.
My Lord is high and lifted in my sight,
He is Savior, King, and my heart’s delight.
I marvel at the love He shared with man;
That chose to die so He could forever hold our hand.
He is beautiful and more precious than all the world’s gold.
He is the treasure within with value left untold.
He is the softest spot within my heart, soul, and mind.
I desire to  honor Him in my life as I fit into His design.
He is my soul’s lover and the Groom that soon returns for His bride;
He is the Darling of heaven, and He is resident inside.
Jesus You are most precious, holy, and set apart.
You are the Master and the One called Darling in my heart.

Song of Songs 4:7
Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

Heart’s Cry By Brenda Drake

Whisper: I hear every heart’s cry.

Luke 10:27
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

John 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another.

Heart’s Cry

I believe my heart’s cry is also God’s hearts cry.
He desires families and friends to get along and so do I.
Life is fragile and precious and I have found,
We are very fortunate to still be around.
It is strange Lord how easily we tend to forget,
What matters most; help us to hold unto it:
Such as respect for others, to deny selfish ways;
The great value of positive thoughts, and words of praise.
My heart cries at the pettiness of our sinful self;
When wrong attitudes and contrary personalities rise up or creeps out.
Forgive us and remind to desire God above all things;
To place others first and thus give honor to Christ our King.
Heavy hearts are sad when self makes a stand.
Help us practice joy and peace as we hold onto Your hand.
Songs of praise and joy causes hearts to rejoice in song.
Testify of God and His ways that proves to Him You belong.
My heart’s cry is to love as Jesus did for we see,
Jesus sacrificed Himself so our heart His joy and love could receive.

You turn our cry of desire into joyful love songs of faith.

Flowers From a Hopeful Heart By Brenda Drake

I love flowers.  I am not a gardener.  My love of flowers does not come from my efforts.  God is the gardener of our soul.  He is the beauty that flowers from within us.  Oh how sweet is the love of God, He deserves all the praise and glory.

Flowers from a Hopeful Heart

Like the sweet aroma of a willing rose,
Is the praise of a heart that God’s Word knows.
Hopeful hearts see the sun shine ahead on a rainy day.
Though cloudy on the outside they are warmed by inner rays.
Another flower that comes from the heart of hope,
Is the sure knowledge God is in control.
The sweet assurance of His love and care,
Is another flower of hope with another to share.
Flowers from a hopeful heart walk at a steady pace,
Under the sure covering of God’s mercy and grace.
They live in His anointing and of His nourishment partakes.
Lights in the dark world all the difference makes.
An encouraging word, a loving timely rebuke,
A helping hand in time of need; are all flowers delivered too.
There is sweet aroma of a life whose hope is in God above.
They bloom in the land; seeds planted in the garden of love.

Ephesians 5:1-2
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Love with Your Life By Brenda Drake

Many times I have wanted to give more, and to do more than I could.  I would begin to feel nothing I did or said was ever enough. But one day in frustration I cried Lord I don’t have anything to give but my life.  That was the one thing that honors and pleased Him the most. We love Him with our life.

Love with Your Life

Even if we don’t have anything of great value to bestow,
In the wealth of silver or gold;
What we value and have we can bring.
Offer your Lord everything.
Our heart Lord, our home, and our family
All we are now and all we ever will be,
We only have this day Lord to offer to You;
All we say and all we will do
In obedience we prove our love for our King.
We offer to Him every song we sing
Each breath is a gift of life You give to set us free.
We will love You with our life eternally
We are seeped in Your favor from every side,
For You bless, lead and guide and call us Your bride.
We love You with our life …it is true
For in Your sweet Spirit we breathe and continuously move.

Matthew 13:44
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Acts 17:28
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

No Turning Back By Brenda Drake

I remember well the day I cemented my commitment to the Lord.  I made up my mind I will not turn back.  I have never regretted my decision.  When times get hard I rely on His help to keep me true to my pledge.  The Word of God reminds me of my place in Him and the promises of His provisions.

No Turning Back

No turning back, no looking back, onward I go.
Nothing or anyone will stop me I am headed for the goal.
My mind and heart is set, my eyes seek to see,
The plan Father-God has planned for me.
It is His Word I listen to, it is His wisdom I crave.
It is His strength I rely on as He guides the way.
Jesus is my example, I follow hard after Him.
He is my Lord, Savior and very best friend.
With His authority I tell mountains to depart.
Demons flee when Jesus rules in my heart.
It is His voice they hear when I proclaim,
Victory, in Jesus’ name.
My treasure is in heaven, but I still sing as I go,
For the earth’s treasures I seek are souls.
Souls that are brought to the cross of Christ,
That also will set their heart and life,
On the path of no return to the better place,
Where heaven and earth touches under grace.
The embrace of God satisfies heart, mind and soul;
Fully and completely in His loving control.

Psalms 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:
and he delighteth in his way.

With Heart in Hand By Brenda Drake

All we really have to offer is our life.  Our offering is our reasonable service.  Our Lord has given us His life by His sacrifice in our behalf.  Sometimes with heart in hand we make our offering in our prayer of dedication again and again.

With Heart in Hand

With heart in hand I set my face;
As I seek to rest in God’s embrace.
The world’s turmoil and upsetting ways;
Cannot steal away my words of praise.
All faults and failures are laid down at His feet to stay.
His robe of righteousness is upon me placed,
With heart in hand I give my life to Him,
To form, to shape, and to mend.
He is my heart’s desire,
He sets it on holy fire.
He reads every inscription written inside.
He is the holy resident who within abides.
I will continue on this journey of the heart;
With Him at each days end and at each days start.
Every moment has its heart-beat and when my journey ends,
I will have arrived into His presence to a new journey begin.
With heart in hand again I say, Lord here I am
Help my life to fit perfectly into Your master plan.

Romans12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Heart Throb of God By Brenda Drake

Have you more and more noticed a change in your thinking?  What was acceptable becomes detestable?  What was ignored is no longer able to be tolerated?  What seemed of utmost importance now is recognized of very little eternal value.  Now it is becoming very clear the things that are of most importance to our Heavenly Father.  If so you are feeling and becoming the heart throb of God.

Heart Throb of God

In the deepest place where the heart throbs;
In the essence of your being there is found God.
The very seed of existence; planted deep within,
All of you that exists belongs to Him.
Each breath has value; if but all men would know,
The high price paid for every soul.
Eternity measures each step in life’s path.
The all seeing eyes of God know right where you are at.
Love’s loving had reaches out each day,
To restore what evil has stolen away.
Look up, look about, search deep within,
Seek, learn, and listen; place all your hope in Him.
The Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, all three in One,
Work in perfect harmony to get the work done.
Nothing on earth exists without Christ.
Jesus is Truth, The Way, and Life.
On earth and in heaven is the same;
All life is found in Jesus’ name.
When you allow the work of the cross you will find,
Every part of your being is with God aligned.
With heart, mind and soul in accord,
Your whole being becomes a heart throb for the Lord.

Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me.

Proverbs 3:1-2
My son, forget not my law;
but let thine heart keep my commandments:
 For length of days, and long life,
and peace, shall they add to thee.

Bound by Chains of Love By Brenda Drake

I thought I was free to do as I desired when I left home.  I was free to drink, free to do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted.  I was not free I was bound by sin. Now I am bound to Jesus with His chains of love.  Now I am truly free. Free to worship, free to praise, and free to serve Him by serving and loving others.

Bound by Chains of Love

I have been set free from bondage and from the chains of sin,
And now in my freedom I am bound to Him;
 I am bound by chains of love that will never break apart.
I am drawn into Him and He moves into my heart.
This place I have been drawn into I never want to leave.
It holds within all I ever need.
I will not fight my captor, I willingly submit,
All He does to restrain me is for my benefit.
I am set free to worship Him that died to save my soul.
All I have I offer to give Him full control.
My flesh is all I need to fight; one day it too I will shed.
Until that great day, I am by God’s Spirit led.
He helps me walk and talk like Jesus, God’s Son.
And one day I will with Him become as one;
Fully, and firmly in His presence setting at His side,
Forever one with Him as His bride.
Oh great day I became His property; a willing slave I am.
My prayer is to serve Him that I love the best that I can.

Romans 6:22
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

The Precious Gift of Time By Brenda Drake

One holiday season when money was scarce, it ended being one of our best Christmas memories.  We spent quality time with those we loved; our homemade gifts were heartfelt love-offerings for one another.  I spent extra time making cookies and candies for our family, friends and neighbors with no thought of receiving a gift in return.

The Precious Gift of Time

Sometimes all you have to give is just your time.
It is a precious gift and is hard to find.
Time is money they say;
So it is not easily given away.
The gift of prayer lifted some do not see.
But its benefit is gratefully received.
Time spent loving the neighbor next door,
Is a gift to them and also to the Lord.
Time’s gift is bestowed on you too.
It is a precious gift God shares with you.
When you offer your life to Christ,
It is a gift that causes the Father delight.
In the gift-giving season as you celebrate the birth of God’s Son,
Remember to spend some quality time with your loved ones.
Whenever you have opportunity, take time to pray;
For leaders, for Country and those sad, to have a good day.
Sometimes all you have to give is your time.
But it is the best gift for it is preciously hard to find.

Ephesians 5:15-17
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
