Fulfill Your Dream in Me Lord By Brenda Drake

I use to have some illusive dreams that would evaporate quickly when another desire caught my attention.  However when Jesus became my Lord and Savior, His desire became my dream and I will never let it go.

Fulfill Your Dream in Me Lord

Fulfill Your dreams for me, lead me to the place,
Where my life-purpose is wrapped in Your embrace.
As You do Your work in me, through me flow
Fresh, pure water to help nourish another’s soul.
Enlarge my heart to accept and to expect blessings to come,
So this life is able to cause God’s will to be done.
Flavor my prayer time with petitions to sweeten another’s life;
To make intercessions to assist in their plight.
Cause my earthly temple to be renewed and restored,
So it is enjoyed and at use in the work of the Lord.
Fill my mind with wisdom and give my words a soothing touch,
That cause seeking, tired souls to in faith look up.
Allow them to behold the beauty of Your amazing grace,
As they desire and reach out to seek your face.
All praise and glory belongs to Jesus, God’s holy Son,
Allow my life to have pleased Him when my work on earth is done

1Timothy 2:3-4
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Tightly Packed Together By Brenda Drake

Tightly Packed Together

Speak into this heart life, hope, and peace.
Touched by Your favor joy and faith is increased.
Whisper into my being Your strength and ability;
To accomplish the mission ordained for me.
Sharpen my eyes of faith for I fully recognize,
All is not evident with earthly eyes.
Satisfy me with the abundance the Spirit, not with earthly greed.
Fine-tune inner-hearing to hear the silent cries of those in need.
Take me to the place of freedom in Your tight hold,
Where my spirit soars to walk on streets of gold.
As I follow in Jesus’ footsteps; as I run the race;
Allow the Word’s promises to my life overtake.
I pray all my supplications with His plans align;
His will and my desires are packed together sometimes.

Easy to the Point Prayers By Brenda Drake

Easy To the Point Prayers

When time is at essence brevity of prayer is best
There is no need to form long, complicated requests.
God sees the problem you asking to be solved,
Your prayer invites Him to be involved.
Life was meant to be a sharing between God and man;
With a free flow always was the plan.
Free and easy and fully comfortable to do,
With no great maze of things needed to go through.
Like a child and their loving father upon the earth would ask.
They would climb up and rest upon their daddy’s lap,
Knowing full well they had his attention,
Knowing they could trust in his good intentions.
They are sure of his love and know he will do his best.
So they ask and believe they will receive, and then they put it to rest.
Their hugs and kisses seal the deal made between them.
Then they run off to play with their friends.
The child of God that knows he is loved is not afraid.
They do not need to practice what they must do or say.
They do not approach the throne with fearful attempts.
They know their God is for them not against.
Long repetitious prayers are a waste to hear.
Causing dishonor to the God that desires you to draw near.
When in worship and in praise and thanksgiving you will find
Heaven kisses your spirit with assurance and gives you peace of mind.

Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I Climb Prayer’s Mountain By Brenda Drake

  There are times when prayer feels like climbing a mountain. It sometimes takes great effort to lay all the burdens down and reach for the helping hand of the One we know by faith cares after our every need.  Sometimes we are in such a valley we are only able to see by faith the Mountain-Mover who is able to pick us up and carry us up prayer’s hill.  Each day is new opportunity to face the challenge; to climb up the mountain of prayer or to stay in the low place of self-sufficiency.

I Climb Prayer’s Mountain

I climb prayer’s mountain, each day closer to the crest;
Up to heavenly place my hearts rests.
Ever closer to becoming like the One I live for.
I travel up the mountain to my Lord.
Sometimes I am in a valley that is dark and cold;
But when I look up heaven reflects like purest gold.
When I find waters of trouble all around,
If I did not reach to God surely I would in my circumstances drown.
The enemy pursues to distract and discourage so I lose my way;
But when I seek, the path is clearly marked to God’s Word obey.
When the day is over and I lie down to rest I find;
I have flown up the mountain when Jesus is on my mind.

Psalms 123:1
Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

Your Majesty By Brenda Drake

Prayer time has so many faces.  There are times we come with petitions for our needs, to lift up a world-problem, or ask for help in a situation affecting the life of family or friends.  There are times of thanks, praise, and abandonment of worship.  Then there are the times we pray for clear direction, or seek instructions on what our King desires us to accomplish.  The sweetest times are when all we want is to spend time with the One you love and that faithfully shows He is the eternal lover of our soul.

Your Majesty

I come before You this day;
You alone are worthy of all worship and praise.
I bow at Your feet to hear instructions of the Word.
I am thankful to be counted worthy to serve.
Your Majesty, I know there is much work to do,
But I want to spend extra time with You.
As I at Your feet rest,
Again strength is regained to do my best.
When I come to worship thee;
What a beautiful future I by faith see.
In the quiet I hear my name lifted up.
In this special time of prayer You fill my cup.
Your whispered love speaks in my ear,
To assure our shared time together You hold dear.
As Your redeemed I seek to honor God above;
Together our hearts dance to salvation’s song of love.
Again I am ready to start a new day in service to the King.
Your Majesty, You cause my heart to sing!

Ephesians 3:19
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be
 filled with all the fulness of God.

We Can Please God By Brenda Drake

Families have a special love and bond with each other; but problems arise and feelings get hurt.  It seems that you cannot at times do anything to please some people.  God understands our dilemma but He still tells us to turn the other cheek!

We Can Please God

When you try to please everyone you will find,
It is rarely possible and most of the time,
You become irritable deep within,
And are not happy with yourself or with them.
You must say right and continue on the path of good,
For God asks always to do as you should.
You are not to treat others as they treat you,
For even the heathen this work can do.
Your hurting heart must die to the pain of self.
This is in service to your Lord; He promises to help.
The Word says to pray for those that despitefully use you;
You indeed need the Holy Spirit’s help to this do.
To love your enemy: to turn the other cheek;
To remain kind, gentle, and to uplifting words speak.
You cannot please everyone all of the time,
But you can please God when with the Word you align.
Your love and prayers in another’s behalf will much good do.
And one day they may even testify and give thanks to you.

Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Mountain Movers By Brenda Drake

We have been praying for change to come.  All the terrible upside-down circumstances that seem to be as unmovable mountains have been and are on our daily prayer list. Do we truly believe God hears our prayers?  Do you believe the Word of God it truth?  If so now we need to speak the Word and believe God for His intervention.  When we speak the Word in the name of Jesus the living Word we will see the mountains move!

Mountain Movers

Some mountain-movers use shovels one shovel at a time;
But this is not as God designed.
The true mountain-movers use God’s Word in faith.
They stand on its promises and then they wait.
he Holy work is by God done.
The heavy work was accomplished by Jesus His Son.
Know the Word, believe the Word, speak the Word then wait.
Trust and expect from the Word, as you praise Jesus’ name.
Your work in His service will be known as your reward,
For the mountains have been moved as you march forward.
Do not pray then worry, fret, and stew,
As you confess all the bad that is coming to you.
Do not talk about and rehash all the problems you face.
For your attempt to move the mountain of circumstances becomes a waste.
Pray the Word, speak the Word and the Word believe,
And then wait for God to move the mountain for thee.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

A Prayer for Us and Our Nation By Brenda Drake

Only God can heal us or a Nation.  He hears and answers prayer. We in turn need to believe to receive.
If and when we truly have repented our sin we need to look up in faith for the answer to come. At times we are all guilty of leaning to our own understanding and get into the murky waters of depression, worry and fear. Our answer is to pray for God’s help again!

.

A Prayer for Us and Our Nation

Pick us up out of the murky place.
Clean our dirty garments of worry that disgrace.
Fear and anxiety have muddied our mind;
Lord with Your help we can leave them behind.
Heaviness of heart has dimmed our vision too;
Fill us with the joy that only comes from You.
Improve our outlook deep inside;
Fan our faith’s fires; keep our dreams alive.
Chase away the clouds of darkness with the light of Your favor,
For, depression must flee when God’s presence is savored.
Dig us out of the pit of self-pities trap.
Set our face to purpose that keeps us on track.
Lord with You we are able to soar to great heights.
In You we are able to cause and to be a delight.
Our life is as a living sacrifice offered for Christ our King.
As You rescue us again, only You cause our hearts to sing.

2 Chronicles 7:14-15
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place

Take Me to the Garden By Brenda Drake

            I love gardens but do not enjoy gardening. But there is a garden that is so special, so wondrous; I never really desire to leave.  Some call it their special place to meet with the Lover of our soul, some call it the place of perfect peace, some call it the intimate place of prayer; I call it all the above and countless other terms of tender endearments.

Take Me to the Garden

Take me to the garden Lord where,
The flowers bloom and the aroma of love fills the air
Where my heart’s whisper bursts in song,
And my inner man rejoices it is where it belongs.
Show me by Your presence what one day forever will be,
A garden of paradise where my soul is set free.
In this sweet place I can see farther and my heart is attune,
To the truth of the promise, You are coming soon.
Take me to the garden so I am made stronger still,
So when I leave I will follow hard after Your will.
Infuse me with the ability to carry the truth to another,
So the loving place of rest and favor they too discover.
Wrap Your loving Spirit around me so I am at peace within,
So I can easily find my way back to the garden again.
One day we will be gathered like flowers before You placed;
A beautiful example of how Your mercy worked with grace.

Isaiah 51:3
For the Lord shall comfort Zion:
he will comfort all her waste places;
and he will make her wilderness like Eden,
and her desert like the garden of the Lord;
joy and gladness shall be found therein,
thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Song of Songs 5:1
I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse:
I have gathered my myrrh with my spice;
I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey;
I have drunk my wine with my milk:
eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.

Sanctuary of Love By Brenda Drake

            We attempt to explain the place in prayer, where hearts sing silent adoration, thanks, and praise and our soul is strengthened mightily again to serve our Maker and the Savior of our soul. Our experiences are so special and so unique we find we need to try again and again to testify of its wonder.

Sanctuary of Love

Sanctuary of love in a world of mess;
The place where angels sing and my heart can rest.
I travel there in an instant; all my filthy rags left outside.
In there I am dressed in the righteous robe prepared for the bride.
I stroll by the sweet waters that lulls into peace,
That refreshes my soul and my strength is increased.
I travel in expectation, never knowing fully what gift I will find,
But I know who it is that presents it, and I know He is mine.
Love smells like heaven has opened up its door,
To share a little glimpse of the great love ahead prepared by my Lord.
Without a word the Word of God has filled me up again,
With the touch of eternal life that can only come from Him.
Oh how I love the sweet Sanctuary provided for me in prayer;
That only I can enter with heart bowed low to get there.
As I bow in worship and praise I will see,
Great is this beautiful space provided for me.
Again I re-enter the turmoil of the a world of unrest,
Filled with new hope, peace, and love to God’s truth confess.

Psalms 26:8
O LORD, I love the habitation of your house
and the place where your glory dwells.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Hebrew 10:19-23
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
